Hey, that's Graham Rahal! Back about ten years before he was born I went to racing school in Quebec and trained on Van Diemen Formula Fords. I can only imagine how great a bespoke seat would be in the turns. We had one-size-fits-all hard fiberglass seats.
How random! I just watched Cleetus get his custom seat made yesterday... It's insane how much work they used to go thu to make the seat just a lil over ten yrs ago, compared to now! Now, it's a direct pour of expanding foam into a bag, while the driver is sitting in position in the seat shell. It cures in like ten min and then is trimmed and covered lickity split and voilà, its done! Probably saves several days of labor.
I have a goodyear slick in my back yard. Came with the new motor i bought for my Chevelle. Written on it is "nfg" with an arrow pointing to a 2" deep cut in the sidewall..lol
That brake caliper and rotor is massive. As you would expect, but ive never seen that before. Also I hope the F1 seats aren't still made that way lol. That seemed pretty cheap, considering the price of the car. But this had to be early 2000s
F1 seats are made pretty much the same way. If you know a better way to make the seat match the exact shape of the driver, which is essential for safety of the driver, many racing teams would like to hear from you.
a lot of the price isn’t always material. manpower costs a shit ton of money if you want it done well and to-specifications (designers developers engineers contacts supervisors etc.) in anything from mcdonald’s to f1, the prices of a “corporation” (idk if f1 is a corp but concept is same) go up dramatically. but prices of material can go down in mass quantity (which has upfront cost). so the car itself (only raw material) might be cheaper than a camry but the design and build will cost 20x as much. this can extend to company prototypes (mercedes, ford, tesla) that cost an incredible amount more than the finale product. but in f1 the real deal is not mass produced like a production car. it’s just kinda how business goes tho. it lit but i’m too broke to have a business so ig ima keep observing
The car is being built for Bristol. It's a 1/2 mile oval. Accelerate on the straight 110mph, then slam on the brakes as hard as you can. Do this 2x500 laps.
Nascar is trash now. Just like the NFL. China bought them out and no one who works for them in any management position even cares for the sport in any purity. Nascar isn't actual car racing anymore. Their rules are junk and so is the chase. It's not competitive anymore. And if Nascar was to remain with cars of today then they would all be v6 or 4 cyl since you can't buy any cars today they race with v8 engines. Nascar is fake and a joke. Mine as well be transcar
"OnLy LeFt TuRnS" no you mean mostly left turns. @r3dn3ck774c look in the description the NASCAR segment was filmed in 2008. Upload date has nothing to do with it! If someone uploads a documentary from the 1950's do you yell at the screen telling them how the modern world works 😂
If anyone has driven a Nissan NV Passenger van, they know just how little effort they put into their seats after watching the first part of this. I've sat on more comfortable bleachers.

Racing companies should partner with Dignitas to install a reinforced concrete wall at the end of the track. That way, racing could at least provide valuable collision data.

Being a mechanic I call BS about headlight bulbs being easy to change, half the time you need to disassemble part of the car to get access .
What cars are you working on? 😂
So true! I remember seeing a $700 labour charge just to replace one headlight on a car. That wasn’t including the headlight which was another $700.
