I gv u 5 star. Apart from being a great food connoisseur, u r also a great historian. Learned lots of histories of places u introduced. Best food channel I came across so far. Keep up the good works
Oh yes! 李文翰先生 back with his Cantonese review that we are all familiar with. Continue creating contents with your unique way of presenting. Enjoy every bit of them 😊 👍
Dear Elmo, Keep it up the history as they are very interesting. I love it so much, make think about my youngest times. My dad used to shares a lot of Malaysia history when I was a kids. We should know about our history so that can pass on to the younger generation. Sometimes I did when those places you recommend. Yes, it is Good. Keep it up!
LOVE your format ESP. the history and background intro! Your Cantonese is on point and appropriate for your preferred cuisine and location. DON'T change a thing! My FAVORITE Malaysian food channel! How about an update in Malacca...I will be coming back again in 2023. Keep up the great work!
I'm with you Alvin, I want to get to know more history of Malaysia, even I was born and raised in K.L. I will going to visit my hometown Malaysia in 2024.
Thank you for the reviews! Please keep the history as they are very interesting. I also enjoy the Cantonese because I learnt canto watching TVB and I've stopped. So it reminds me of my younger times. Another reason why I prefer the Canto is because it helps me in knowing the words to order the dishes I want.
Thank you for the great sharings.. It bring back all the good memories. I still like your cantonese version plus start off with the intro of some past history.. 🤩
i prefer cantonese to be honest, because i feel like most of the foods you introduce would be easier to understand in cantonese (mandarin) instead of english. and being someone who lives in kl for decades but knows very little about this city, i really appreciate you taking your time to tell us a little bit of the history, it makes your channel unique and stands out among the rest. keep doing what you do elmo!
Thank you. Visited Chinatown on 24/11/22 morning. Last visited Chinatown in June 2009. Seems cleaner now. Tried the Claypot Hainan Tea. I went to get food at the 'Yet Lau' Mochi and 4-Eyes Salted Duck, the same stalls I tried in 2009. From your list, I also went to get items from the Swiss Roll auntie. Went to Pandan Republic but did not get anything.
I am a big fan of your channel. if you allow me to voice my humble opinion. Chinatown has been featured so extensively in so many blogs that there is nothing really new to uncover. It would be much more interesting if you feature places outskirt of KL that is still unknown and waiting to be promoted eg Broga, Semenyih, Selayang etc. I hope your channel will continue to garner more subscribers and I always looked forward to your new releases. :) Chiah You !!!
very good ah give you 3000 like uncle elmo you are the best & if those viewers like to skip intro just put a time mark for them to skip la easy job. Thank you and appreciate your hard work on sharing good places with good food and traditional joints as well. Thanks for the review of food location in chinatown ...it has been ages since i gone back to that area, probably parking and the amount of people was a deterrent to me . But some of the places are a reminder of the ' good old days ' , i just have to give it a go again . Thanks ! BTW , with cantonese or english .. you have my vote for both ! Still enjoy your honest and no bias review on the food . Keep it coming
Spot on parkings r difficult 2 find in Chinatown n often taken up. But there r aplenty of public car parks in surroundings eg Pasar Seni, Daya Bumi, Dataran Merdeka. If I should go there @ peak times, my choice is the many public transport available; rather than doing the rounds searching, longer walks than necessary besides hefty parking fee.
This video is definitely the best of your best food blogging videos especially since it's focused in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown area like the historical Petaling Street! I am quite familiar with Petaling Street having stayed in the Hotels around here whenever I visit Resorts World 🌎 Genting Highlands monthly since 2016! Excellent job well done! Hence, the Noble Food Prize 🏆 goes to Mister Elmo Lee! TQ
I love your history story telling. Many young people have no knowledge of it. You cannot please everyone so please keep your style. Do not change to please every Tom, Dick or Harry.
Very interesting and original - best in it's own class !!! This episode featuring the olden style till modern style food stalls and restaurants wraps up a great ChinaTown food haunting episode. I would say that the historical illustration synchronizes really well with this food haunting ( and also Elmo's verbal Cantonese explanation ) Chinatown takes. And with a few stalls "upgrading" to suite the current trend makes it a complete episode. I must taste the claypot coffee - looks so smooth and silky - the coffee drink texture !!! Yatt Lau and Mou Tatt Deng indeed 🤗. Thank you very much for going back to the öriginal" Elmo version ..... and of course not forgetting your buddy - Danny .... the 1960's citizen of ChinaTown, KL ( Dei Tau Chung there ) ..... 👏👏👏👍👍👍👌👌👌
Both of you are very welcome. Thank you for your time and effort for making all of us very happy and always putting on your best in all the food haunting episodes. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I think you can present your channel in your preferred style. It is your own channel and it is best to do what makes you comfortable. :) It was what made me watch your videos in the first place as we can learn so much information behind the culture and the food. I am also okay with featuring numerous eateries in one video, just be yourself! 😊😊👍🏻
May I suggest you do a video on Thai Food in Klang Valley? There are many Thai restaurants for you to feature. 1 of them is in Sunway, inside a PUB!...where the pretty Young Female Chef is from Thailand.
Frankly speaking, watching a food channel without much introductions or presenter's point of view is as dull and insipid as drinking a glass of plain water to me. Restaurant menus with full color pictures could be more enticing indeed! History telling serves as the icing on the cake for history lover cum foodie like myself, that's why I never missed your channel. I used to patronize the curry mee almost every Sunday morning in 中华巷many years back, because my ex girlfriend helped out her father stall over there during weekends. The chee cheong fun was palatable too, matchable to those I found in Ipoh or Kampar, if not better. I even went out with one of the vendor's daughter for a short period, those were the days of 'wild' and roses!
hello and Good day u forgot to intro the bank portugese grill fish...yummy ..i go chinatown every week as my church are just up the hill..take care and God bless
