Largest Snorlax inflatable makes debut at Taiwan Lantern Festival｜Taiwan News

Hundreds of lanterns will be lighting the Taoyuan nightscape this month, as the city is hosting this year’s Taiwan Lantern Festival. The event will run from Feb. 12 to Feb. 23 in two exhibition areas. The first one, which hosts the main lantern, is located outside the city’s High Speed Rail Station. The second is the Taoyuan Sports Park, which has five themed exhibits and will be holding a soft launch this Friday. Let’s hear more.

We’ve been load testing the power supply for the entire exhibition. We’ll have a soft opening on Feb. 7, so that people can come in and take a look.
If you’re a Pokémon fan, get ready for a trip to Taoyuan to take a picture with a 6m tall Pikachu lantern. If that’s not enough there is an even bigger Snorlax lantern commanding the site at 12m tall. It is the largest of its kind in the world, and it’s making its first international debut. If you’re driving to see the spectacle, the city government has set up two free car parks at the Hengshan and Xingnan MRT stations.
