    I had used to live in Penang in 2003 prior to moving back to Australia - and I used to eat so much Nasi Lemak, Duck rice and curry puffs ! I miss the food so much there ! I can't wait to head back next week to try the food again ! My local makan was called Song River along Gurney Drive. Used to game at the internet cafes and a guy would come around screaming "Curry Puff!" and before you shot your hand up mid-game to grab a curry puff, he was standing there ready to take your money ! I also really miss the Lychee drinks ! CANNOT WAIT TO VISIT AGAIN !

    Nasi Lemak cannot be missed AT ALL!!! It is your national dish, right?
    Chicken wings are some of our absolute favorite meals, now roasted chicken wings sound like heaven!!!
    Lor Bak looks phenomenal, would you eat it with bread or something similar to bread? or just by itself?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We eat the Lor Bak along with any other dish 😆 let's say it's like finger food at the side haha

    I like your videos very much but I have to disagree about the best Asam Laksa in Georgetown and the surrounding area.
    I have eaten the dish at the stall you reccomend but in my opinion the stall just outside of the market, on the street that leads up to the temple, called Air Itam Laksa is far superior. Greater depth and breadth of flavours and textures puts this bowl of wonder head and shoulders above Laksa Bisu.
    Keep up the good work.
    love from Spain

    Love this video! Heading over to Penang in 2 weeks. Am a bit worried for seating at Chulia Street. Are the tables free for all, can we order food from multiple stalls and eat at the same table?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The tables are free for all except the drinks. But the drinks vendors would usually approach your table for the orders anyway.

    Thank you for this fantastic video. I wish you would always mention the name of the vendor as not all vendors are good. You said Adam Laksa at New Lane. At new lane every other vendor has Asan Laksa on offer…

    Ipoh G-Cheong Fun is better than KL & Penang. I love the oyster mushrooms mince meat sauce with various toppings and the pork skin & long beans curry sauce. The G-Cheong is extra soft, thin and so smooth is another level. Can eat in Menglembu, Ipoh market at 2pm-4pm

      I like d food since I was a kid living in taman ampang jaya. There was a chinese man on motorcycle selling this food. My mom always tell me not to buy that. Only in my adult years after watching tv program, I learn that some Chinese like to use lard in all their food, n in preparation of cheong fun, d seller will immerse d flat noodles in a broth made with pork innards or bones. After realizing that, I will buy d ready made cheong fun n make my own sauce.

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, you're right. There's hardly any halal version of chee cheong fun sold anywhere. Always safer to make it yourself. These days I think you could find it at halal dim sum restaurants 😄

      @@PuriandSue Actually, at pasar malam, I always see Malay sells cheong fun, but they call it yong tofu, with lots of frozen seafood, not home made. D home made halal yong tofu in ampang city is home made n really delicious. 🙂
