I wasn't even in the market for e-ink tablets, yet I ended up watching all 3 of your in-depth reviews and your latest comparative one. I'm now 98% convinced that I need this device. So glad I stumbled upon your channel! Thorough and awesome work!
@@hpal It's been incredible for me. I especially love the note organization and annotation features. I'm so happy with my purchase, and I have his videos to thank!
people like you who go in very deep detail to make niche but quality content like this that doesn't necessarily have a super broad appeal to make a million views and tons of money on youtube deserve a special hall of fame
I love that you said each is awesome it just depends on which kind of awesome you want....I decided on Supernote for this reason...I want this awesome. :)
Probably I've already said it under another account, but I do appreciate your posts. They're instructive, clear, helpful and fair. No bias. Sincere opinions and great overview of devices. I thank you very much. I was hesitating between Remarkable2 and Ratta A5X. But latest Remarkable move let me quite perplexed e.g. subscriptions etc... It's hard to guess what their future could be - as you pointed out - and their customer service is one of the worst in this sector.
Voja - THANK YOU!!! This is just what I was looking for! I am definitely one of those who "loves to write". I am currently testing RM2 and particularly haven't been happy with the management of files (or, the limited reader functionality). It looks like the A5X is precisely what I have been waiting for. Placing my pre-order now... thanks again for all you do.
Don’t you just love when a company has a laser focus on one thing - and everything they do is aligned to that purpose! Supernote are getting so many things right. They picked a use-case and are relentless in optimising for that experience. Remarkable on the other hand seemed to just pick a feature to focus on. They get that feature right(ish) - but the user experience (which is what you live with once the novelty of writing-feel wears off) is clunky and badly thought out. I’d say that if you’re getting one of these devices for actually writing notes then the Supernote is best. I prefer the pen and surface feel (for actually writing) to anything else. The nib is thin and doesn’t wear, the surface is comfortable and the UI is great - and getting better. It actually has a huge advantage over a standard non-digital notebook. The Remarkable is definitely better “for those who sketch”... that’s really where it shines - everything else is a let down... And to be honest a nice notebook and a pencil do a far better job. Thanks for your reviews! Looking forward to more from you - I’m really enjoying your approach :)
Thank you :) Very nicely summarized and I am glad we share a common impression of the Supernote :) For me, it's a huge surprise just how big of a difference it is when the same platform is used on a larger format, mainly, the difference between A6X and A5X. I really am finding it a bit challenging to get back to different platforms after the streamlined experience of the latest update on the A5X. Things just seem bloated and clunky, and I just want to go back to the Supernote. They really got stuff right for writing.
@@MyDeepGuide I agree this is why after spending weeks reading and watching everything I could find on many of these devices I have now decided on the A5X.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Royal Kian I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
After watching your guides /comparisons , I decided to buy the Supernote A5X. Thank you Voja, so happy with my purchase. And the comment about customer service from Ratta is true from experience. I live in Australia, i called and online chatted with them and had no issues. 😊
@@MyDeepGuide What are your thoughts now after the Papyr 1.2 upgrade. You seemed really impressed by that incredible speed increase. Could you do a head to head as they now stand, as the review of the Papyr seems out of date post 1.2. Love to know your thoughts.
Thank you...thank you...thank you Voja for getting us this review in time. I cannot wait for your in depth review and am ordering my A5x right now. You totally rock!!
Thank you so much - I watched now all your videos and comparisons of A5X and Remarkable 2 and I am now quite confident, that I found in the A5X the right device for my puropse, looking forward that supernote will introduce the conversion of handwritten notes into text later this year.... You do a great job - so even me as an uninformed person if it comes to devices etc. I got the needed information and understanding of the topic to make a informed decision!
This makes me very happy, because that is the main goal and 8nywntu9n behind my channel, not to push any specific product onto users, but to try and provide as much information as possible, so that users can inform themselves and then reach their own decision, which device will suit their specific needs best :) Thank you :)
This is basically what I hoped for back in 2010(?) when the iPad ("iSlate") was rumoured. There was discussion over whether it would be e-ink. I am glad that it is finally here :)
Yes! thank you! for your comparing all these device at the end. I am not happy at all with RM2 for note taking and filing documents ( the fact we can't keep page marks or thumbnails to go right back to the information without having to turn all the pages,) I am thinking to return it and to get Ratta supernote A5 X. Thank you for everything you do, very helpful!
So that’s it I made my mind up. Thanks for all the content. This is the second time I have come back to watch these videos. There are so many reasons to like the Supernote over all the others but mainly I am impressed by the company and them listening to and valuing their customers. This has made me spend my money and I am sure I will be recommending my family and friends all buy Supernote products too. Looking forward to it arriving. UK based so one downside is cost but I will try to not feel too bad about that once I am using the device daily. Thanks again mate. Keep up the good work 🍻 🇬🇧
You give the most comprehensive reviews my mam. Good work. I was about to click the button on an order but I guess im just gonna wait for the next gen of a5x before migrating completely to paperless... Imo its still missing a few things like pressure sensivity and such, almost there tho. hope they keep polishing the software and hardware!
I think there are people like me, who want a smaller size. Originally, tempted by the Remarkable but concerned if it was worth paying so much just to take notes. When I started researching eink notebooks, I realised a smaller size would suit me better. So, the A6X it seemed to fit the bill. Writing feel was important. Simplicity important. Preferred Android based but not with loads of apps, interruptions etc. I can see where others would prefer the larger size. The X series is not a successor to the non-x(?) devices but, rather, they run in parallel to suit different needs. They've also said they are working on a successor to the original, which will be thinner but..only if it's good enough. I like that AX looks like a book and that it's not 'showy'. PS love the frequent updates from Ratta and learning from your reviews. Reddit community is great too. Their CCO aka Chief Chat Officer lol(Bruce, I think) does a great job. Between Ratta CS, you, Morning Coach and now Everything CPO, I learn new stuff all the time. Thanks everyone.
I’ve been on the fence between MS Origin and SN A5X. All of your guides have helped me decide on the A5X while also dropping in some contenders I didn’t know were out there. Is it my understanding that you will have an in depth Guide out at some point for the A5X/A6X, as this was just a review? Thank you for your dedication to the eink world, you have definitely won over a new follower!
Very much enjoyed you 3 part review. So interesting on how they approached the note taking and editing compared to the Boox. Looking Ford to you in-depth guides for the Boox and Ratta devices.
Thank you for your review ! I really enjoy it as all others reviews you have done. I really appreciate your job because you answer all the questions i can have. About the sketching possibilities, i have talked a little bit with the Supernote support and more features are coming soon. Drawers will be clearly taken into account. We can already watch a demo of the pressor/tilt sensitive pencil brush on Twitter I have already ordered the Supernote A5X and i was waiting for your review to know if i cancel it for another one.. and i'm going to keep it, i think it is the best choice as i expected
Hi Voya, thank you very much for your review. Perfect as usual !!!!! +1+1+1. I just ordered my supernoteA5X just after viewing the part 3. You answered at all my interrogations and questions
another great vid. you hit exactly what I have been trying to wrap my head around at the end when you "stacked" the devices against each other...ie A5X is primarily a writing device with a capable secondary function in its reader vs the boox which is the opposite vs the Remarkable2 which is best for those that prioritize sketching over readers and note taking
Your reviews are so helpful! One thing I think I missed the answer to in your videos - does A5X have a split screen mode? For example, if I wanted to pull up a book or document while taking notes - would I be able to reasonably do this?
would one be able to read / take notes on this in relatively darker room? Basically, do we miss not having backlit LED on the screen in different light situations?
Hey Voja; love your reviews and guides; super helpful and I do use them in helping with my purchasing decisions. I have just ordered an A5X (sadly still sitting in China due to lockdown) which I am looking to move to from my RM2 which I still think is great but lacking in some areas for my needs going forward. You mention that you'll be doing a guide to the A5X on top of the reviews and I wondered if they were elsewhere on here or if not when you plan to be doing them? Many thanks!!
I have a question regarding the "table of content" that you can create with the titles... is it possible to push a new page in between? like you have page 1,2,3,4 and then you want to add a new page after 2? Perhaps that is a common sense question, but I am not sure if the device can handle this. Just be sure. -> Better safe than sorry Thanks in advance! Your guide was awesome. :-) And in my opinion it is better than the remarkable in many ways.
Thank you and an excellent question! I am fairly certain that it can, but to be 100% sure, I will check it as soon as I am released from the clutches of incompetency, and back home :) EDIT: Ah, I see CPO has checked, thanks!
@@yungting5626 supernote.com/#/ I couldn't find any other store than the one of the factory itself (located in Shanghai). Order it and ship it. The taxes depend on which country you live in.
I am definitely more of a reader and typer (terrible handwriting, and am just more quick and efficient with a keyboard), and so have a Boox. Nevertheless, I have been keeping note of what Supernote are up to. I'm so impressed with their attention to detail (accessories, case, UI, apps) and their responsiveness to users' requests and suggestions, especially on reddit. I've been considering picking one up for my mum as a note-taker for her meetings/ classes. They've become a serious contender in the market.
Really enjoyed all 3 parts to this deep dive, very illuminating and persuasive. After going through this whole process with the other competitors, I settled on the supernote. But then, it doesn't appear I can actually buy it in the UK! Unless I'm missing something?
Thank you :) I don't know about UK, especially after new changes, so the best thing would be to ask them directly, as they will provide you with the most up to date info.
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks Voja. I've tweeted, emailed, Instagram messaged, filled in their website form and Facebook messaged. So far just a deathly silence from every platform, which tells me either their support is horrendous or they simply don't ship to the UK. In either scenario they're creating whatever the opposite of a 'brand advocate' is. Such a shame because I was all in with them after your excellent review. 🤷♂️ EDIT: They've responded! Maybe I was being impatient. For the record, they do ship to the UK and as no plug is needed that's not an issue either. I'm back 'on-side' and will be putting my order in. 😃
since there are so many music instruments in the background of your videos. Can you recommend any music notation-app ? great review as always keep it up!
How accurate is the detection of the pen tip position on the Supernote? With the rM2 it was good for me in the middle of the screen, but unfortunately not usable for me at the edges. Even if the display coatings and the eInk are more pleasant, I find it frustrating when a several year old iPad recognizes the pen(cil) more accurately. Thank you for this detailed review! Excellent as always!
Accuracy is decent, and the pen can be calibrated in settings. Settings > Display & input > Stylus calibration. Also, avoid using alcohol when cleaning the screen.
Thanks for the detailed review! I have checked the User Guide of the Supernote X and it appears that one cannot have the same document in two or more "folders". This means that a paper on, say "Reading PDF documents in ebook devices without the agonizing pain" cannot be accessed both from a "Howto" and from a "ebook reading" folder. The same limitation applies to reMarkable and perhaps also to Onyx devices. I am pointing out this fact because it is almost never mentioned in reviews. To me, it is a "Cons" that weights much more than, say, battery life or memory size: on any decent system for organizing items (no matter whether these are music data, photographs, books or anything else) symbolic links or tags allows one to "store" the same document under different "folders" and without data duplication. Why isn't this possible on e-readers?
Well, maybe it's not mentioned because it's not a thing? Of course you can have duplicates on all of the mentioned platforms. I've just tried on Supernote, Boox and Remarkable, and yeah, you can copy the document to any folder you want, and have as many copies you want. You can't have a same document name in the same folder, but that is true of any OS and has nothing to do with e-readers. It looks like you are doing something wrong and jumping to awfully big and broad conclusions.
@@MyDeepGuide You have misread my comment: I do not want to have two documents with the SAME name in the SAME folder, of course. What I want, is to be able to access the SAME document from DIFFERENT folders. This is standard in Linux, OS X, Windows, BSD, etc. via symlinks and in any decent tagging or labeling scheme via multi-values tags. For example, here in TH-cam, one can access the SAME video (document) under DIFFERENT playlists or folders. By contrast, on most e-readers, a document can be accessed under exactly one folder. This is a limitation that, in a system that is meant to help organizing and accessing documents, is unacceptable, in my view.
Voja I think you close houses haha with these reviews you have made me want to take all the devices and try them. Kidding aside, I had the Rm2 disappointed mainly with the jagged lines send it back, I took the Max Lumi, which was great, but sold it both for money and because I thought the Note 3 will suit me better as size and bought Note 3. Now with this review, I am seriously thinking about getting the supernote A5X. And I am torned if I am to buy it if I should also keep the Note 3 or sell it. I wanted to ask with so many note-taking devices that you have, and each device has its own platform and the notes are not interchangeable between different platforms, how do you manage it with all your notes, in the end, it is like you have a lot of notebooks (I mean text notebooks). Supernote seems really good but it has two big negatives for me, one is the size capacity, and the bigger is the battery, especially now after using note 3 which has the best battery I have ever seen, I don't know if I can go down to only 7,7 hours of writing, and I don't know how many hours for reading in comparison to the 20 hours of writing and 75-113 hours reading that note 3 has. Also about the price, it really has a good price, but since it does not has warehouses in Europe you have to pay at least in my country an extra 24% importing taxes.
I have a Boox note 2 and I have some similar questions. I plan on keeping and using both devices for some time to see which I use most of the time. If the writing experience is leaps and bounds better on this I am betting the a5x is going to be my keeper.
I think that Voja somewhere says that he decided not to do a guide per se for the A5X, since the A6X has the same operating system and he has done a guide for the A6X.
Hello, thanks Voja for your passionate job to provide all the details and considerations, it has been of a great help to me to choose the right device for my need. I have just noted a little bug in the A5X: when you select a word in the notes for test recognition, if after you want to delete such word from the note, it continues to be present in the note title as well as in the available keywords of the search functionality. I am not sure if it is a problem of my device or is more general addressed to a sw issue.
Did you notice a difference in writing feel between A5X and A6X? I have both - received the A5X with the standard pen today, and the feel and sound of it is just a bit more crisp to me; more friction. The A5X surface feels and sounds a little bit “grainier”, if that makes sense; a bit like a chalk board (in a pleasant way) compared to a smoother whiteboard feel on the A6X. It’s weird, though, why I should perceive a difference, when the same protective film is on top of both screens...
I was considering getting this as a second notebook but unfortunately for now it doesn't suit my work flow and it's so much more expensive in Europe than the note air or remarkable so will wait for now. My boox experience has been great for my usecases. I make software engineering notes and the fact Im also using a computer at the same time having the Google app store is a blessing! It means I can use ms onenotes on the computer to allow me to transfer my computer clipboard to my boox note app to insert into my written notes. It also allows me to use my NAS to backup my notes pdfs and allows easy transferring of files to the boox as it constantly syncs between the two. I've also replaced the keyboard with one that support swiping which best suits pen inputs. As a separate note, I mentioned some feature requests to the Boox team before seeing your review which included TOC in notes, the ability to quickly write a note from anywhere and they seem to suggest it's coming in a future release which I'm looking forward to!
Hmm, I just checked and Note Air set shipping from the EU Warehouse is $467 vs $449 for the Supernote A5X. Remarkable 2, the cheapest set option n is $517, so the most expensive option by far. I am From Norway (not EU), but Europe, so I would have to pay 25% import tax on either of the devices. Maybe EU residents don't have to pay it for the Note Air? Is that what you meant about the price difference?
@@MyDeepGuide I bought my note air for £384 online incl delivery, with a UK retailer. The normal price (post pre-order) for the supernote will be around ~£476 taxed and delivered. The shipping according to the supernote website is $43 on top of what you've quoted. So think I'll wait a little to see if this price goes down.
Could you quote where you got it from, so that other people could maybe also get such a good deal, because that is a steal. Also, it's a discount, not the list price. What I am talking about are list prices.
When comparing prices, the comparison must be fair, so let’s compare the price during both presale periods. In the case of remarkable 2, the cost was 399€, including taxes and shipping. In the case of Supernote, the final cost, with taxes and shipping to Spain are more than 510€. So, no, sorry, Supernote A5X is not cheap for europeans. Even buying a Note air in Amazon (europe) right now is cheaper than A5X. So, even though I like the device very much, I will wait until Supernote has a warehouse in EU, and hopefully, final prices will be lower. Please Supernote, do it soon.
Thanks for the review! I think if someone could somehow combine the hardware of the Supernote and the software of the Boox platform, that would pretty much be my dream device.
Is the hardware of the Supernote better than the hardware of the Boox platform? Is the software of the Boox platform better than the software of the Supernote? Why?
Is it good for teachers ? I have a lot of meeting as a teacher. I have an agenda where i take notes about everything. At the end of the year i put 90% of these notes on my garbage can XD Is it avalaible for ITALY?
Excellent reviews! I am learning alot from you to get the most out of my new device. My main use will be note taking for class, with exporting to pdf. Am I understanding this correctly, I am unable to transfer handwriting to text before my export. Also, any page limit on note taking? Trying to figure out a solid method for note taking (whether export per chapters for lessons or am I able to export at the end of the semester, with weeks worth of notes). Thank you
Do you think they will ever offer split screen so we can take notes on one side and review book/pdf on the other? I have a Boox note 2 and I love that feature but I want the writing experience of the a5x I take meeting notes all day and maintain tasks lists etc for work but at night I love to read books and jot down notes as salient points come up. Thanks for the videos!!!
Good review. Battery life is a let-down, if you do lots of writing in one sitting. Remarkable 2 seems better for this - much longer battery life for writing.
Hi Voja, I appreciate your review but something doesn't make sense to me. One of the reasons i was considering this is because the nibs never wear out. When I went to order the pen, it offers a pen refill and say "The SuperNote Pen is good for around six months of constant usage." This is quite a bit different from never wears out. I'm so disappointed by this. Have you heard anything about this?
Hello, That is the old pen standard. All new pens come with the ceramic nib which never needs to be replaced. However i do have to stress out that the Supernote ceramic pen should never be used on any device other than the Supernote, because that ceramic nib is designed to work with the soft top of the Supernote. On a regular device, it will scratch the screen easily and is not meant to be used on any other device.
@@MyDeepGuide Thank you! that makes me feel better about getting it. I am still having back-and-forth thoughts about it because of the price. Would you ever consider doing a review with the ipad and pencil with the paperlike screen protector? I would be curious whether that has the same feel with less latency than the others? (I know that feel is subjective but I was curious whether I should be going in that direction)
Please read my reply again, especially about the part that the Supernote pen shouldn't be used on any other device than a Supernote. This is very important to keep in mind.
@@MyDeepGuide Hi sorry I was being confusing. I was asking the question completely separate from the pen: Should I be just doing an ipad that can do so much more with the ipencil and the "paperlike" screen protector? I was curious if that would have a remarkable 2 feeling as there are rave reviews on the site but who knows if it's accurate. (but i have bitten the bullet and bought the supernote - big gulp. I just can't get past the distraction free nature of it and the fact that the nib never wears out).
I don't use iPads or Apple products, so i don't really know. However, i do know that no backlit screen can compete with the comfort level of reading and writing on an E-Ink screen, especially outdoors, and in many cases, they can't compete with the writing speed either, surprisingly.
RM2 is the most limited reader platform on the 10.3” market, so anything is better than RM2 as far as reader capabilities go. As for the pens, i think that you can find some more info about it in my comparison video, The Best 10.3" E-Ink Note-taking Device, where i compare the Note Air, Supernote A5X and the RM2, you can check out the whole video, or just the Pens chapter :)
Hi there. So am I correct in thinking that the A5x cannot convert handwritten notes to text. To then enable meeting notes to be shared. Thank you for your assistance
Something that not many people talk about on any of these e-ink devices is security. I know a few have a fingerprint scanner to unlock the device and I know most have a PIN or password to unlock too. That’s about as far as it goes. Is it possible to lock individual notes? Is it possible to disable syncing notes to cloud so they are not compromised? Are notes encrypted on device so that they are protected from malware and other malicious code or hacks?
None of the devices offer individual file encryption. At best, you get a local pin lock code and only on the Boox platform, afaik. As far as cloud server file encryption, it depends on the service, and you'll have to ask them, but they all use some form of encryption when packets are sent around. For true security, you won't be using any kind of cloud service and no good IT department will allow cloud synchronization of any kind. This is why it's a very important consideration if a device can operate offline and how far it can get. That being said, I've noticed a pattern where people talk about security concerns on these devices, yet the awareness of gaping security holes on their smartphones and computers are completely ignored.
@@MyDeepGuide I did have the thought that this may be the case. It’s a shame that not one of the manufacturers offers encryption of notes on device. Agree though that many people don’t take security seriously. They don’t use encryption even when it’s available, people use cloud services way too often, they transmit sensitive data, don’t have secure passwords, don’t use 2FA or yubico devices and many don’t even change passwords or use password managers to create advanced pw’s that are more resistant to brute force attacks. It would be really nice if Supernote could include on device encryption and protection of individual notes that could be toggled on or off. Many people would like that feature and it would make the devices much more appealing and useful.
@@MyDeepGuide totally agree. Ideally a hardware Authenticator key but if not then at least non SMS 2FA is a must. PS whilst we are here can you possibly do a video comparing the Mobiscribe Origin and the A6X mate? Would be a great video.
Yeah, we should not use sms 2FA, but unfortunately in some circumstances it's the only option available, and in those situations it's still better that nothing. Origin vs A6X, at some point yeah, but i already have a few videos lined up for the coming couple of weeks, but eventually yeah :)
I think that a Ratta rep indicated in a public comment that that would be very unlikely, since using color would impair the functionality of the device given the current state of e-ink technology.
About my note below: I have contacted the Supernote support and they confirmed that *it is now possible to file the same document (not a copy) under different folders* in the Supernote A5X: "Yes, we confirm to you that it is possible to file the same document (not a copy of it) under different folders in the Supernote A5X (in our current update version). And we are doing label and keyword function for the files. Users can display the same file through this function." This would be, for me, a game changer: for the first time (to the best of my knowledge) would an e-reader make it possible for users to organize their documents in a way that fits their own needs. This is one of the 3 features that I mostly miss in my reMarkable 1 (the other two being the capability of adding pages of notes to a .pdf document and the capability of rotating a .pdf document and fitting the line width to the width of the rM's screen in landscape mode). Could a A5X owner please check this in her/his device? Thanks, nbpf
I don't think that this is correct. When selecting a file in a list of files in a Supernote folder, one has the following options: Rename, Copy, Move, Delete, Lock, Unlock. (The last two options pertain to password protection.) If I choose Copy, I can make a copy of the file and add it to another folder. This is a copy, not the same file listed in two folders merely being called a copy; if I write something on one copy of the file in one folder, it will not appear on the other copy. Choosing Move to move the selected file to another folder removes it from the original folder.
You are giving me such a tough time, Voja! I bought the RM2 because it didn't look like the A5X was coming anytime soon. Now, I finally have my RM2 and the A5X exists. I LOVE the feel of the RM2 and the magnetic pen. I'm very disappointed in the inaccuracies of the pen/screen and the fact that the device feels much more smooth and glossy than I expected. I can't decide if I want to get rid of the magnetic pen and all the notes I've already taken and wait for the A5X to arrive 😰
The Supernote and others must work on the notes reusable in Windows PC or Apple Ipad and IMax. Once should be able to working on the notes cross-platform. Otherwise these are costly stand alone useless note asking tablet and high prices dreaded.
A good review of the device, but (and is my personal point of view) I see so enthusiasm, that cons are almost pros, that Ratta company is the best, that the device could, in the future, have funtionalities that already don't have it...that almost appear a marketing review. Please, Voya, I hope that you take this in a good way because I like a lot your reviews and your work. I see the potential of the device, the pros and cons. I think that Remarkable is going to be very worried about it. Onyx has a different approach, that personally I like too. For EU, 500$+Tax+Delivery/customs could be easily 650$... A lot (as the others)
I like a lot the UI, the text highlight with notes added (I love it)...as a note taking device has a great great approach with the titles, interface, etc. In the down side, I see it a little bit slow compared with their competitors. Much more battery consumer possibly for the extra UI layer. I think that dictionary/translator should be a must. The text recognition, I think that is not so important seeing the titles approach. A web browser to read wikis or articles and protect your eyes from so many hours of smartphones/monitors having a Eink display is a miss opportunity. And the PDF layout options should be improved. I'm going to keep and eye in this company.
I disagree with you. You should watch the remarkable reviews, Voja was very enthusiasm also. If there are more cons or pros, for sure he will make another video. For me, the video is subjective because he talks about exactly the same points than the others devices. The supernote is a really good device, that it.
So you are sceptical and say that cons that I mentioned are pros and then you repeat the cons that I clearly mentioned as the cons for you? (Battery life, dictionary, PDF formatting). I'm not sure I understand what is the point you are trying to make or what exactly is the critique, since you just repeated the cons I listed and added a web browser, which is something I completely disagree with and I think that these device do not need browsers, as you can always send an article or a page as a PDF to the device for reading. Can you maybe clarify exactly what the critique is, as it's really not clear to me at the moment. Thank you :)

@Jamie Carmelo Instablaster =)
Brilliant as ever - Voja has such a compelling and articulate way of expressing himself and explaining product features. Top job!
Thank you! :)
@@MyDeepGuide What are your thoughts now after the Papyr 1.2 upgrade. You seemed really impressed by that incredible speed increase. Could you do a head to head as they now stand, as the review of the Papyr seems out of date post 1.2. Love to know your thoughts.
I just ordered my A5X as that is what I want it for. Note taking/ writing. Thanks for the awesome in-depth videos.
Wow ... many thanks for such a thorough review!!
Keep up the good work 🍻 🇬🇧
Thanks a lot Voja for a very timely review before the pre-order deadline!
We can already watch a demo of the pressor/tilt sensitive pencil brush on Twitter
I have already ordered the Supernote A5X and i was waiting for your review to know if i cancel it for another one.. and i'm going to keep it, i think it is the best choice as i expected
Thank you for your detailed videos about this device. It helped me to make my decision on what device to get.
The last section of this video was the MOST helpful. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you!! I have deeply considered your efforts with the 3 parts.
Hi Voya, thank you very much for your review. Perfect as usual !!!!! +1+1+1. I just ordered my supernoteA5X just after viewing the part 3. You answered at all my interrogations and questions
I ordered mine after watching this as well! Exactly what I am looking for in a device
Amazing reviews! Thank you for the information.
another great vid. you hit exactly what I have been trying to wrap my head around at the end when you "stacked" the devices against each other...ie A5X is primarily a writing device with a capable secondary function in its reader vs the boox which is the opposite vs the Remarkable2 which is best for those that prioritize sketching over readers and note taking
Thanks for the great videos. Can you add blank pages to imported PDF files? Remarkable 2 cannot, unfortunately
Your reviews are so helpful! One thing I think I missed the answer to in your videos - does A5X have a split screen mode? For example, if I wanted to pull up a book or document while taking notes - would I be able to reasonably do this?
Not yet, but I do know that it's something that they are working on, so it should come relatively soon.
@@MyDeepGuide thank you for the response!
would one be able to read / take notes on this in relatively darker room? Basically, do we miss not having backlit LED on the screen in different light situations?
Hey Voja; love your reviews and guides; super helpful and I do use them in helping with my purchasing decisions. I have just ordered an A5X (sadly still sitting in China due to lockdown) which I am looking to move to from my RM2 which I still think is great but lacking in some areas for my needs going forward. You mention that you'll be doing a guide to the A5X on top of the reviews and I wondered if they were elsewhere on here or if not when you plan to be doing them? Many thanks!!
Thank you for the in-depth review!
I have a question regarding the "table of content" that you can create with the titles... is it possible to push a new page in between? like you have page 1,2,3,4 and then you want to add a new page after 2? Perhaps that is a common sense question, but I am not sure if the device can handle this. Just be sure. -> Better safe than sorry
Thanks in advance! Your guide was awesome. :-)
And in my opinion it is better than the remarkable in many ways.
Yes. The titles are dynamically adjusted to the new page numbers if you insert new pages.
Thank you and an excellent question! I am fairly certain that it can, but to be 100% sure, I will check it as soon as I am released from the clutches of incompetency, and back home :)
EDIT:
Ah, I see CPO has checked, thanks!
@@MyDeepGuide I have tested it. It works.
Well, I ordered one, and it's all your fault... :)

@@hurricanejesse can I ask where you guys have bought it from? Which website or store? Please let me know of any UK or USA store
@@yungting5626 supernote.com/#/
I couldn't find any other store than the one of the factory itself (located in Shanghai).
I use DAWs, so no, sorry, I don't use notation apps.
Kidding aside, I had the Rm2 disappointed mainly with the jagged lines send it back, I took the Max Lumi, which was great,
but sold it both for money and because I thought the Note 3 will suit me better as size and bought Note 3.
Thank You for this!
When is the deep guide coming for the a5x?
I also bought one and not a reMarkable.
I should mention the remarkable is rediculous more expensive! 😁
At the end of the year i put 90% of these notes on my garbage can XD
Is it avalaible for ITALY?
Excellent reviews! I am learning alot from you to get the most out of my new device. My main use will be note taking for class, with exporting to pdf. Am I understanding this correctly, I am unable to transfer handwriting to text before my export.
Also, any page limit on note taking? Trying to figure out a solid method for note taking (whether export per chapters for lessons or am I able to export at the end of the semester, with weeks worth of notes).
Thank you
Have you figured out a solid method for note taking?
Do you think they will ever offer split screen so we can take notes on one side and review book/pdf on the other? I have a Boox note 2 and I love that feature but I want the writing experience of the a5x I take meeting notes all day and maintain tasks lists etc for work but at night I love to read books and jot down notes as salient points come up. Thanks for the videos!!!
They don't have the split-screen function now, they say there will be in the future.
Good review. Battery life is a let-down, if you do lots of writing in one sitting. Remarkable 2 seems better for this - much longer battery life for writing.
Are you still going to do an in depth guide on it?
Hi Voja, you did not mentioned anyting about Max Lumi? Where would it be placed in your opinion? Thanks.
Well, it's a 13.3" device, so I would place into the category of 13.3" devices :)
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks!
News products to come!
Have you ever seen Nemeio e-ink keyboard?
Hi Voja, I appreciate your review but something doesn't make sense to me. One of the reasons i was considering this is because the nibs never wear out. When I went to order the pen, it offers a pen refill and say "The SuperNote Pen is good for around six months of constant usage." This is quite a bit different from never wears out. I'm so disappointed by this. Have you heard anything about this?
Hello,
That is the old pen standard.
Voja, as far as ereading capability do you prefer the A5X or RM2? Also do you have a review of A5X's pens and their differences?
RM2 is the most limited reader platform on the 10.3” market, so anything is better than RM2 as far as reader capabilities go. As for the pens, i think that you can find some more info about it in my comparison video, The Best 10.3" E-Ink Note-taking Device, where i compare the Note Air, Supernote A5X and the RM2, you can check out the whole video, or just the Pens chapter :)
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks Voja. I did enjoy the video review. I do hate that the A5X does not convert handwritten notes to text like the RM2.
Hi there. So am I correct in thinking that the A5x cannot convert handwritten notes to text. To then enable meeting notes to be shared. Thank you for your assistance
Can you insert a date and time stamp for the note page?
For me 2FA is absolutely essential and the only form of security that i will accept when considering a service.
Where can I buy this tablet? I cant seem to find it at known stores. In USA or UK.. thank you
Voya why is there the choice of a notebook or word document? Don't the both do exactly the same thing?
No, Notebook is for creating handwritten notebooks, Word document is exactly that, a MS Word document file that is typed, not handwritten.
Will the display be available also in color, not just black and white?
I think that a Ratta rep indicated in a public comment that that would be very unlikely, since using color would impair the functionality of the device given the current state of e-ink technology.
On their website they say, that you can convert handwriting to computer written text with just a double tap. Is that true?
Can you give the link to the page where Ratta says this?
About my note below: I have contacted the Supernote support and they confirmed that *it is now possible to file the same document (not a copy) under different folders* in the Supernote A5X:
"Yes, we confirm to you that it is possible to file the same document (not a copy of it) under different folders in the Supernote A5X (in our current update version). And we are doing label and keyword function for the files. Users can display the
same file through this function."
This would be, for me, a game changer: for the first time (to the best of my knowledge) would an e-reader make it possible for users to organize their documents in a way that fits their own needs.
I want to buy a supernote A5x as soon it comes with a dictionary english / german.

Ummm can I view documents in landscape mode?
At the moment, no.
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks for the reply! One more queston though. How long does it take to load heavy PDF files? Is it faster than remarkable 2?

For those who write. Just for my benefit.

And the pens looks fantastic
I disagree with you. You should watch the remarkable reviews, Voja was very enthusiasm also.
If there are more cons or pros, for sure he will make another video. For me, the video is subjective because he talks about exactly the same points than the others devices.
The supernote is a really good device, that it.
@@bertrandkruszewski3003 perhaps is my perception.
Anyway is a great work.
