    Put a small motorcycle tank and seat on it so it looks like a top tank moped, like a Puch Magnum or a Tomos TTLX

    One thing you're going to need to do if you intend to run it without the front fender is fabricate some kind of fork brace. I've been riding mopeds (Puch, Tomos, Peugeot, Motobecane, Honda Hobbit, Vespa Ciao and Grande, Kinetic TFR, etc.) and those tiny little forks flex like a wet noodle without the fender to hold them in place.

    • @49ccscoot

      Thanks for the info. The fender didn't seem that substantial to me so I wouldn't think twice about it. I may see if I can find something that I think looks a little better.

Take your time and follow your heart. What you are doing has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Also I am very curious to find out why the moped will not rev up while you are riding it.
    I wish you health and a lot of fun!

    hey, i have a little problem. 139qmb does not start. Fuel, carb cleaned. Spark is strong and constistant. Can it be because of lack of compression? Like, should engine easily spin by the cooling fan? I believe it should be difficult by the compression stroke, and then instant release. It now spins nearly identical as without the sparkplug. I think cam lobe opening resistance is more feelable than compression stroke. Also, should I hear hissing sound form PCV nipple on compression stroke? Is it normal? If you can answer i'd be thankful.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like compression may be your problem. You should feel much more resistance as the piston travels toward TDC on the compression stroke. You can do a compression test to be sure, but if it feels similar to turning it over without the spark plug then I don't think you need anymore evidence of low compression. Hissing is normal when you crank it over. You're going to have to start disassembling and inspecting. You could do a leak down test if you'd prefer, but ultimately you're not going to fix a compression issue without some disassembly.

    Frame tube looks like it will hold a decent amount of gas.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm kinda hoping it holds some wires. I haven't measured, but it's something like 2-2.5" I'd guess so the whole thing could probably hold up to 3 gallons. As much as I end up modding stuff, I kinda don't like the idea of always having gas/fumes in the frame.

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was way off. I measured it out tonight and the ID is only 1.654". It would hold 0.41 gallons. Definitely not worth the risk if I ever weld something to the frame later for that amount.

      @49ccscoot  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If this engine had ran OK with the hours of work that I put into it initially, I would have. At this point I doubt that I will. It won't even be in the same ballpark before and after. I can pretty much guarantee it would not do 50MPH stock. Should go from maxed out 30-35MPH stock to hopefully 60MPH or more if the sprockets are right for it. From ~2-3HP to ~15HP.

I replaced the 72cc auto for a Chinese 125 4 speed manual, as of this comment, I'm still gearing it up(numerically), 1 st gear is useless, second still wants to pull up front wheel. you seem to know what youre talking about so if you dont mind id like to ask you a couple of questions. i recently bought a 2021 ssr lazer 6 and i was gonna see if i could get just a little more performance out of it. i had someone say they changed to an 18t front sprocket and put a performance cdi on theirs and got about 45 mph out of it which was all i was really looking to get out of it. but i read a review about a performance cdi that was installed on a lazer 5 and all of a sudden the bike wouldnt run anymore.... so i guess my question is what do you think i could do to get a little more performance out of my lazer 6 without ruining it.... great video by the way (edit): it does have a 5 pin cdi

    • @nlevno
      @nlevno 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      also if you do recommend a performance cdi could you tell me which brand i should purchase?

    • @49ccscoot
      @49ccscoot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nlevno CDI no-starts can be bad CDIs that are just junk and don't spark or the wrong CDI. Engines can also be hard to start or not start if a CDI advances timing at cranking RPM. CDI could be a good mod. T-Bolt sells one that offers a lot of advance, but keeps it low at cranking RPM. That's what I've got to try on this.
      You can probably ride it and tell if sprocket swapping would help. If it gets to top speed and feels like it could keep pulling, then it may work for more speed. If it feels like it's running out of power to go faster, then gearing isn't likely to help. Two totally separate things, so you could try a CDI first and then see what you think about the gearing.
