Honestly I recommend everyone buys their own kitchen stuff - pots, pans, trays, cutlery, glasses etc. Means you don’t have to deal messy people and people not washing’s tuff up. You can just deal with making sure your stuff is clean
the cutlery thing (7:30): when i was at boarding school, we each put a different colour of nail varnish on the end of the handle and on the underside of our plates and bowls to tell them apart from each other. if you wanted to, you could totally take it further and label everything that was yours ahaha
But does it really matter if it gets mixed up lol?
Janani It’s so that there are no arguments about who ruined what or who needs to clean up after whom. You don’t want to repurchase every item at the start of each year

I really recommend a doorstop, I used mine all year round and I found it easier to make friends in freshers that way. I think its worth buying a cheap rubber one as it can really help
With the door stops, all other uni videos I've watched recommend one for freshers. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there will be freshers this year :(
I go to uni of Nottingham & everyone told me to buy a doorstop before I went but literally no one used one at all, no one kept their doors open 😂

My brother thought that when he went to uni but if he was coming home for the weekend or for reading week, lugging his duvet back home on the train and then back was really inconvenient so he ended up getting a new one for uni
Ubiquitous_Star honestly it’ll be a nightmare taking it all back home with you when you go home for the weekend or for reading week especially if you have to get the train. You’ll thank yourself later on!

Sahar Nazari I have friends going into 2nd year whose lectures are still online but they still get to move out! I did my A levels last year but am just going into first year and so far it is all pretty certain that I can at least move to my campus, even if we don’t actually go into lectures !:)

I found it so interesting watching this as I also have just finished my first year at uni! I wish I had bought plastic and glass bowls as being part of a sports clubbed meant lots of bake sales for fundraisers! Baking in a small pan isn’t as easy as it sounds 🤣

I remember the other year when I was a fresher, everyone on TH-cam said I had to have a doorstop but my room had a fire door too so it never worked and I never heard anyone ever talk about that problem. Glad im not the only one at least haha

I was meant to be moving into uni of Nottingham at the start of April to study veterinary (I know it’s strange but I did a video explaining why!) but lockdown started on the same day I was meant to be moving in and so I’m learning from home for now. Lifehack for the Londoners. Try looking for the product you want on Portal Deliveries, they deliver to you for free and on the same day. Been a lifesaver as a uni student. Saved me a lot of time and money.

There's usually facebook groups for each halls and you can find your flatmates through there and then create your own group chat xx

Sometimes there will be Facebook groups and that for people going to that uni that year and people post what block or dorms they are in. Then sometimes people make group chats to get to know each other before uni 😄

Do people just take their own toilet roll on every time they go or do you buy a pack between yous? Do yous end up clashing a lot when you need to use it. Is the shower and toilet in the same room or are they separate? Is it as bad as everyone says it is? So yeah I agree not a full video but if it was mentioned that would be great please
