      Thank You! Everybody's skin is becoming too thin and while we are bickering with each other, America is being sold under are very feet. Like I was saying to another subscriber, cant we have a hobby that race is not an issue in? Yes! and it is bike life. Sir if i see you and your family even if all of you were wearing confederate flag shirts, I would as a driver do what ever i can to pass you safely and even assist you if your needing to make your way thru traffic on the road at no hesitation. Yes a bike can save someone's butt today because i care more about the freedom to ride on two wheels In this great country than any other social issues that are in America at this point. I'm 53 years old and i can care less how anyone feels about my origins being from somewhere with too much sun on a daily basis. And this is the only way i can leave our generation some of my knowledge i have acquired over my lifetime. Sir we need to get the youngsters back into building things. buy your grand kids the kits, if their old enough to handle tools, which was 6 for my dad. We're leaving a generation of kids that think there's a "book for dummies" for everything lol. So since its free i plan to make more tapes and be like a black mr. rogers so stay tuned and you will hear some more things you thought you'd never hear a black man say i keep em coming so you won't have to feel uncomfortable hearing them lol. God Bless You brother and Merry Christmas to you and yours k.

    Fantastic work! I have motorized mountain bikes with both gas and electric for years, also ride on/off rd motorcycles. This can be registered in many states, I love being able to peddle up steep hills for the workout but having the motor through gears. I have used a Staton Inc front shifting kit on a few bikes, and am now mounting one to a fat bike. How does this handle bumps without a rear suspension? Does running the pressure lower help reduce bounce, without rim damage? Real art right there, regardless if optimal performance or not, respect you brother I do.

    • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks man appreciate the Love. I took that one thru all kinds of test last summer and had a blast. I ended up with the pressure slightly low for road smoothness but enough to not have to struggle in pedal mode. I travel mostly on paths and some streets so it was great without rear suspension or front. I'm currently rebuilding that one and changing the gear ratio to get a little more torque out of it and saving for those fat tire front shock forks i seen available. My ultimate goal is to restore my 89 convertible mustang, so i practice with my builds. the front is fiberglass to save on the weight. I learn how to weld over the winter and purchased a 3D printer so stick around the upgrade is nice so far. God Bless!

      35 on that build but just rebuilt the engine so haven't taken it over 25. But if speed is what your looking to do on a fat tire model, then i would use the jackshaft to offset the engine but still use it on the drivetrain side with the stronger chain cause the bike chain can only handle so much and derails a lot at higher speeds. @@DavidPhillipscendashi the bt80 kit has a starter built in so i was thinking of trying to buy a starter and battery and "afro-engineer" something up. i was watching go-cart vids where they install starters and solenoids but seems like i would need a charging setup also. i can buy separate parts from the bt80 kit to make things a little easier or at least see everything i would need. i wish i knew about the bt80 when i bought my kit because it has everything. i'm gonna buy the centrifugal clutch and see how that goes. i have the jackshaft kit which i like. for some reason i have a pull start but i its too hard to pull so i never use it. maybe you might know what i could do. it seems like i have too much compression if i take out the spark plug its easy to pull.

    • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelperry1309 Ok brother, I see what your trying to do, but after looking at the bt 80 design i'm not sure how you would make that work without at least using the bottom of the engine mold which holds the starter parallel to the gear flywheel. also if the pull start is too hard to turn the engine i am not confident that the electric starter will do any better. one thing about these parts from china there not very durable. I even took my pull starter apart to put a stronger rope and handle in it. I think your going the right route with the centrifugal clutch. I have had that too much compression problem before because i use car engine gasket maker instead of the cheap paper gaskets that come with the engine. That bt80 looks like a kit that i would just leave as is and maybe add better exhaust only. Keep me posted cause i am interested in your results. Thanks for watching and God Bless.

      thank you! Yeah i have to admit I was happy to run across them while searching for options. Not sponsored by them but a good product is a good product which is actually hard to find in this hobby. be careful with some of the aftermarket stuff that says it will make the engines faster like boost bottles, porting etc. most of the products from china are really cheap and not strong enough to be modifying. they have a chinese jackshaft but the shaft is in mm and the support is made of diecast metal. I try to save others the money that i wasted learning this. God Bless and Bike Life!

  • @robertmiller2629

    I like this idea and am wondering what size engine you are using? I have a 125cc for stroke engine with a long shaft on the drive and am wondering if the jack shaft will bolt up to it the engine is a 4 stroke engine with a kick start on it and I would love to mount it on a 26-28 feature mountain bike. Will it work or do I need to modify the bike frame

    • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its more about the chains and gears you use than mounting issues. I still use a jackshaft instead of offsetting the engine. Not to the regular chain side but just on the engine side because the regular chain is barely strong enough for the 49cc engines. I use the 100cc too because of the fat tire weight and it still only go around 30 to 33 mph which is fine for me. Sound like you will have to custom mount that engine your talking about and i would use a 26" beach cruiser should have enough space for it. Great ideal can't wait to see it k. God Bless be safe. • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I'm actually satisfied with the power i get out of it other than a better carb with easier tuning, But it has the expansion chamber pipe connected to the stock pipe because when i bought the e-pipe it had a little tail that seem to have too much back pressure or something, i didn't like. so i cut it off and attached that stock pipe to it to keep the noise level down and give it more flow. It still wasn't enough so i drilled two holes in the in end of the tail. Runs great but the engines have never had enough torque for me until i started using gears with the jackshaft. thats where the power is. next month my spring rebuild video will be out with a better gear ratio 21 tooth down to the 9 tooth on the jack shaft. had to get a stronger chain on the regular side to handle the torque it has now. So stay tuned k!

    Hardly a new idea: Soichiro Honda strapped an engine in to a pushbike several decades ago. But motorcycles have got(ten) better now. Honda makes mopeds which are better than this, and meet Constructions and Use Regulations Worldwide

      Thank you for checking it out, i actually was inspired when harley and the davidsons story came out. This is just one of those kits off amazon and .ebay that i took my time and constructed my kit sturdy, combined with a lot of the upgrades available. Not really trying to make this a motorcycle replacement, i like biking but with this option i am able to continue to exceed 20 or 30 mile trips and not get stuck too far away from home. Totally my dream bicycle ride and so far a lot of people like what i came up with.

      yes sir it was purchased at bikeberry and it is the normal 49cc kit. upgraded the exhaust and head for it to handle the heat for longer rides. but not modifications internally. If i was to purchase one now i would look at the electric start because with the jackshaft kit you can't pedal start so it would have to be pull or electric start. i converted mine to the pull start but their not well manufactured. out of the box i hit 30 mph and at that speed i upgraded my brakes after the experience. • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I'll tell you from my experience. with these 2 stroke engines the bike will not go that fast because of weight and tire size. and the rim is pretty thick plus the fat tires absorb every bump. It feels like riding in a Cadillac. Now i use the mount for the rear center hub that is an aftermarket part instead of the supplied rubber gear mount in the kits, so it would not pull by the spokes. It rides comfortably around 25 mph. Hope that helps you out.

    • @DavidPhillipscendashi
      @DavidPhillipscendashi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really i have no ideal because by the time i get close to high gear either the chains become too close to each other at high speeds, or so far i have had to change the bike chain twice because it is not strong enough for the pull. I'm converting it to a single speed but using the jackshaft to gear it to a faster than stock speed and be happy because the bicycle side is best left as that. i am in the process of creating the new video with the changes coming soon k. These can be dangerous if not built with safety in mind. yeah my bike is cute but it is prototype number 5 for a reason. the faster it would get, the unsafer it became, brakes flying off all kind of stuff. I'm not rich so there are some inexpensive additions needed to make the standard motorized bike kit safer. But if you have money the hell with these gas bikes the new fat tire ebikes make mine look like doo doo in comparison lmao!
