In this video, JD who is a Certified Sleep Science Coach compares the Original Purple vs Purple Hybrid vs Purple Hybrid Premier beds so you can decide which Purple bed is best. Purple mattresses are quite special in that they use a patented material called Hyper-Elastic Polymer for their top layer grid. This is soft, flexible and pressure relieving. It sort of reminds JD of a gel-like material. The Original Purple mattress is the company's most affordable online bed. It's comprised of foam and the special polymer material. The Purple Hybrid and Purple Premier beds use coils in addition to the Purple grid. As such, the Purple Hybrid beds are better suited for heavy people. Ive had the original purple for 6 years and love it till I started having recent lower back pains in the morning. This made me question the bed and noticed how much it was sagging. I reached out to purple and filed a claim under their 10 year warranty. They were super easy to deal with and stood by their guarantee honoring the claim at zero cost after i sent them photos showing the bed was sagging more than 1”. They also offered me upgrade options for the difference that I paid. I stuck with what I original purple bed and they sent a new to my doorstep a week after approval. Total turnaround was about 10-15days. Great job @purple !
The purple 4 is the best investment I’ve ever made. I can sleep without pain🥰 I have chronic pain and insomnia, I have never slept better. It’s really expensive but it’s so worth it. I can actually sleep 😴

I love how the purple hybrid Premier checks all the boxes on my list. Mostly that it is hybrid and it is soft, a bit expensive, though. Thanks for all the information!
Purple bed seems pretty good with the different options they have to choose from. My thoughts about it is good but only thing is it's very pricey for me at this time. But sending customers a sample of different materials is a great idea for customers to make good decisions. Thanks for the review as always.
I’ve always been interested in Purple mattresses. I’ve wanted the Purple Hybrid for a while now, it’s just too expensive for me. I absolutely love their sheets, perfect for people who tend to sleep hot
I’ve never tested out a purple so I can’t share any thoughts from personal experience however I really appreciate their innovative and scientific approach to construction.
I think Purple have many options to choose from. I like how Purple stands out among the rest of the mattress companies with a completly diffrent design.

As I've never tried a purple, I'd want to try the full experience. I would be interested in feeling the Purple Hybrid Premier 3. As a combination back and side sleeper who also sleeps hot, this might help with my pattern of and sleep hygiene. Great review.

Just purchased a premiere 4” hybrid. I was on the 3 for awhile but when I left it and got on the 4 my body let out a sigh of relief..I have a lot of back and hip pain. Can’t wait!

I really want to try Purple. It is a bit out of my price range but sounds like it'll be worth it!
I think purple is a very interesting as it has a unique feel that I have yet to find a comparison for. I do think it does come at a pretty high price point so it’s hard to justify spending that much unless I was very certain that the bed truly matched my preferences since there are so many other great beds out there.
All in all, I’d probably chose the purple hybrid since i prefer hybrid beds and it comes at a more affordable price point compared to the premiere.
I’ve never tried purple myself, but I’ve heard they are awesome. I think I would prefer the Purple Hybrid Premier 3, but it’s out of my price range.
This bed looks like the one I would choose 3" level looks spot on to try.

I am really thinking of getting a Purple Hybrid Premier Mattress since I am on the heavier side and a combination sleeper. What is hesitating me on getting the mattress is the unique feel, but at the same time, it is the same reason why I want to get the mattress.

Watched this and many other Purple mattress videos before going into a Rooms To Go with my hubby and we tried four out of the five they had in the store. We're both side sleepers and decided on the premier 3, two purple pillows, and the ascent adjustable base. The support and feel of the mattress, pillows, and base are great. Congestion due to being sick or allergy season would be the only reason either of us would sleep on our backs. We ordered online early November and it took about three weeks before they delivered the items set it up and took away the old mattress.
How do you like it so far?

I have the Premier 4 and love it. I’m 200 pounds, 65yo, and a back and side sleeper. I can drop my bowling ball on it, and it bounces off it like a superball. It feels weird, but not in a bad way. The waffle design lets in a lot of air so it sleeps really cool. I will never go back to memory foam, it is too hot.
Purple is pretty unique and so it's hard to imagine its feel unless you've purchased one or know someone who has. It would be cool if they sold or distributed sponge-sized samples for potential buyers to understand the tactile experience.
They sell a Purple "Squishy" for $3 on website, might be fun to try.

Really like my Purple hybrid but hips sore sometimes when sleep on side. My husband weighs 210 and I weigh 130. We both have sore hips from side sleeping sometimes. I like firm mattress but premier 3 looks like might be better for us . We are combination sleepers. Would love to upgrade to premier 3. The hype is real about sleeping cooler on the grid. Mt hot flashes are less frequent on purple hybrid.
I'd love to try the purple beds because I know they are highly praised, but I don't think I could ever afford one. I'm a side sleeper so the hybrid premier looks amazing for me. That's a lot of money to spend on a mattress though
I think I could find myself getting used to a purple bed but the two times I have tested one initially I didn’t like it at all, felt like jello to me… just very different! I like more of a memory foam like Tempurpedic type feel 😉🛏💤😩
My friend loves his... I tried it out at &Macy’s and it was different for sure. Kinda felt like laying on a balloon to me.
I would go with the Purple Hybrid mattress, as I’m a stomach sleeper and like the support that one would offer.
I’ve tried all four mattresses in different stores. I am a 5’4”, 138lb side sleeper. My husband is a 5’7”, 155lb stomach sleeper. We’re both set on the Hybrid 3 and want to purchase as soon as our piggy bank is full😀
Couldn’t you go with the original? It’s economical, and if I’m not mistaken is good for side sleepers.
While purple is not the mattress for me I like the different options they offer. I have friends that really love their Purple!
I'd go with the Purple 4 if I could afford. Side sleeper with shoulder issues so I need a soft supportive mattress. Looks closest to my dream Intellibed.

Hey J. I just watched your fantastic review. Based on that I would def purchase a Queen Size Premiere Purple Mattress. I have been sleeping on a Vera Wang Gel Bed that was way too expensive for what has to be at least 20 years, could be more ! Currently I have 7 massive Herniated Disc's, Spondylosis and an Arthritic Back. The only thing that is holding me back from this purchase is the price. I live a very meager life on Permanent Disability and can honestly say that the only way I could afford such a life-giving gift is to win the lottery. So, I can dream about, oh that's right I can't do that either because I don't sleep long enough to dream. Anyway, you certainly give made for T.V. review.
Which would be better for an adjustable frame.
I would probably choose the Purple Hybrid Premier mattress as I need more support because I am a heavier person. I also am a side sleeper.
Purple Hybrid Premier sounds perfect for me! The only thing that causes me pause is the material. I've never heard of it being used in another bed, and I would want to make sure it's safe.
And the long term durability. I've read some reviews that it sags or starts breaking down after a few years.
I think the Purple mattress is interesting. I’m really curious how it feels and if it’s durable. I would probably go with the hybrid because it seems like it would work best for me. It’s perfect for people with chronic pain. I can sleep without pain. I’ve had mine 6 months no wear or tare. It’s worth the price I have the purple 4

I can’t find the video in the description of mattresses for hot sleepers. Cooling system.
I am nervous about buying a new bed in general because I have a spinal cord injury with nerve damage from an accident while I was in the military, but I am curious if a purple would help with my sleepless nights as I toss and turn and am constantly feeling pain in my hips and lower back. Any advise would be welcomed.
Giveaway - I'd love to try Purple as it looks like a super interesting material. I'd go with the Purple Hybrid Premier since I'm more of a side sleeper. The price is a bit hefty but I'd consider it if it means a great bed and something that doesn't get lumpy over time which it seems like the Purple design doesn't.
I bought 2 purple mattresses and 2 purple cushion for my car… it was the best investment and decision I ever done. Purple is antiallergic and fire retardant. I love it and I recommend it.

After buying the mattress and sleep the first week on it, I noticed that I was feeling more rested and half of my body pain disappeared. I sleep on my side every night, and I have no shoulder pain or hip pain. I have 2 friends, they are bigger and taller than me; they have purple mattresses and they love it…

Although I agree with you on the 3 inch one for side sleeping, I myself am a side sleeper and the base model 2 inch works perfect, also, i am 280 lbs. Never had an issue, best bed ever.
I tried the hybrid 2 today and I agree. It felt pretty comfortable on my side and I'm 220 lbs

Giveaway-My son has the Purple hybrid and he just loves it. I have laid on his bed and when you roll over back and forth on the mattress you have no resistance. The purple gird on top feels amazing.

I’ve never tried Purple, but a friend has the Purple 3 and loves it. I’m curious, but for the most part it’s a bit off-putting. I don’t think I’d like the sensation. If I did try one it would probably be the 3 or 4.

I’ve gone and visited mattress firm and tried it out, I like that it’s squishy and soft. It’s also not a hot bed. It’s a very different feel from your normal standard beds with foam and coils, but idk I think it would it take time to get use to it.

I think purple matress is unique, but the prices for them are also unique. I would rather purchase a decent priced medium firmness matress.
Purple is probably the most people friendly company there is and like I’ve said before they don’t miss
I had heard the original purple mattresses had some type of toxic dust particles as they would wear in... Has this been resolved if true? My only other concern with these man-made products is the off gases that the plastics and or foam creates could be unhealthy for us just like carpeting. What does purple do to address these issues?
I think I would stick with the hybrid! I just feel like I need to actually lay on one since the feeling on the bed is so unique.
I was the same way thinking what's all the hype about...went into store to look at tempurpedic and saw purple so I thought what the heck...ill sit on it and when I did I WAS LIKE WHOAHHH. ITS AWESOME. you really have to try it to understand....I tried all levels and 3 was purfeccct!!! Im small petite and back sleeper.

My husband is a back sleeper, I am a side sleeper. We spent an hour in mattress firm giving these Purples a try. He wanted to go for the hybrid and I wanted the three. Thank you so much for making this video it helped us decide which mattress might be best all around for us!
Do you really like your purple mattress? We too went to mattress firm but got the beautyrest and honestly it was the worst purchase I’ve ever made. So now we’re looking again.

It's not really outrageous when you think about the fact that you'll be spending 1/3 of your life on it.
I agree with you but, it's one of those purchases that you make once in atleast 10 years, which is what their warranty conviently covers. One thing you should never budget on is a bed! A good mattress will literally change your life.

Should we get a purple mattress? A year ago we bought a beauty rest mattress, and by far it’s freaking horrible. The worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. We almost returned it but the salesman convinced me it wasn’t “broken in” yet. My back hurts nightly, and as a combat veteran with multiple deployments after 14 years…..my back/body is jacked up already. We almost bought a purple mattress then, but I wasn’t sure it would support my back. However, now we’re looking again. Is the purple mattress truly a good bed?
I know several folks who love the Purple mattress, but I am from the "off-putting" crowd - only tested it in the store and it felt like laying on jello.

I actually have the purple original and it sucks for side sleeping. My shoulders are always in pain like I workout my delts 😵💫 later today I’m getting my purple hybrid premiere 3 , totally looking forward to it. I even invested in the purple sheets because I currently use Mellanni sheet’s which also doesn’t do the purple mattress justice but it kinda keeps me cool. Though I have slept with just the purple protective sheet and it feels a lot better for back and stomach but still a pain for my shoulder. 🤞🏼🤞🏼 please level 3 be the problem solver for my wife and I .
Update on purples mattress hybrid 3 12.17.22
So far it’s way better than the original and isn’t to soft surprisingly. The coils really help getting out of bed. My only complaint is I had to get a replacement after the first one was defective perhaps 🤔. I rotated the bed every month but I day after I got into bed I noticed my side of the mattress was sunken and I fell off the bed. Of course purple were able to help me and send a replacement after going through the steps of taking lots of pictures and a video. I believe the single coils are interesting but by some chance can turn on it’s side. I don’t know how but it was possible for my mattress at the time, I was worried I wouldn’t get approved. I didn’t even break in the bed with the Mrs after 4 months of having it. Not easy being a first time father that’s all I’m going to say. Any who comfort for the bed is great for side sleeping . I really like how responsive it is with it having coils for sure makes it easier getting up at night to feed are baby .
Oh one last thing the exact area that was affected was the between the coil and support wall from rolling off. I’m a side sleeper and it’s a king size mattress so I don’t sleep at the edge of the bed but by somehow it was defective and bam, two hits I hit the nightstand and the ground next.
Glad I'm not the only one. I have a feeling the overly soft sinking bed is contributing to my posture worsening and shoulder pain.

@@chrisburright9854 purple approved and sent out a new bed. It’s doing great so far and haven’t had any issues. Thankfully the 10 year warranty does cover that it was sinking on one corner. Their customer service was great and they scheduled a company to pick up the old mattress on the same day I received my new mattress so it worked out perfectly.
Where does the Purple "Plus" fall in this?
Purple is just one of those things one either loves or doesn’t. I find them strange and are not their target market.

Giveaway: I think the Purple mattress is going to be my next mattress. Ive been on the hunt for the perfect mattress. I sleep hot and am a side sleeper who needs minimal pressure in the hip area and the purple hybrid premier 3 or 4 sound about perfect for me because i need the most pressure relief but i wonder if there is that much difference in feel between the Premier 4 and the original?
I have tested all four mattresses (drove around to a number of different Rooms to Go and Mattress Firm stores). The 3&4 are SUPER bouncy. Laying on the original in comparison feels “dead”. There’s just no bounce at all. The premier 2 is very firm. My husband and I didn’t notice a HUGE difference between the 3 and 4.
I think the Premier would probably be the best for me.

Giveaway: My brother & his wife love their original purple. Ive never even sat on one, but everyone I know who has one is obsessed with it. I want to try the hybrid. My back is completely messed up to the point I can't walk across the room without needing to sit down. I'm only 41. Can't afford a $1500 mattress though.
Thr hybrid 3 is over 3000 for a King.
I thought I would like the purple mattress, but I tried in out in the store, and I could feel the grid on my back as I laid on it. I didn’t like it.

A Queen size?! All I need is a Twin! If I am shelling out that much for a bed, I am not sharing it! Well, perhaps with my dog or cat, but that's more than likely all I will be sharing it with. If a significant other would like me to share with them, then I think they should pay for half the mattress. 50/50. If I am getting it for myself, then it's 100% mine! (Especially if I paid that much for it.) Advertising the Queen size... Pfft...
