    This actually happened to my gym teacher last semester.
    The kids in class were always so rude and my gym teacher was the kind of person that believed that even if you aren't good at a sport, as long as you are a good sport, it can still be fun.
    I was one of the few kids who actually listened to him, followed the rules, and attempted to be nice and a team player to everyone.
    Then, at the end of the semester, my gym teacher said to me,
    "You were a pleasure to have in class and your gonna go far in life."
    Words cannot express how good it felt to hear that 😊

    Yup. 100% accurate. I tend to ignore the questions entirely until I am done.
    My strategy is telling the kids that that all eyes and ears need to be on me. If they aren’t, I start calling individuals out. Some days just aren’t great, other days are better. Then I mention to hold all questions until I am done explaining- this usually causes a bunch of kids to shout down that one person who just isn’t listening. I let that go for a few seconds so the kid feels ashamed- we need weaponized shame back. It’s a wonderful social motivator.

    I work as a substitute teacher and from my experience you can’t be too nice and there is no way you can allow yourself to appear even the lightest bit insecure like in this clip. The kids will rip you apart. Stay respectful but hold your ground as well. There was this one class and they messed with me. Once they were gotten out of control there was no way to get back the upper hand. Second time I was there I allowed them to get a little loose and even jumped in with them. Felt like a bonding moment tbh so when I switched to a serious tone they reacted accordingly. Finding the balance between being “chill” and being strict is the key. When they can have a little fun with you and they start liking you they will notice when your mood turns sour and they tend to respect you more when you know how to play along in the right moments. It’s okay to put them in their place and show your displeasure when they disrespect you like this, but stay respectful and keep your calm as much as possible.

Its all about your aura that you project. Even if you don’t feel in control, you have to act like you are. Always remain cool under pressure. Students want a leader they can trust and rely on, so its important to make them feel safe and supported. Likewise, you need to set the expectation of what you need from them in return. honestly, now I'm not a teacher, but I'm a student so I really understand this because I transferred from a private school to a public school and it was such a big change. At least at my school, the students actually have some respect for teachers, it's usually the teachers people don't like as much that they act up in the most, but the chill teachers they're just fine with. The only thing is, is that sometimes they abuse the trust of the chill teachers and don't respect them sometimes, like out of all teachers the chill ones are some of the ones you should respect the most, because they can easily go from being a chill teacher and everyone's favorite to the strict teacher that people don't like. I mean all teachers deserve respect but you especially shouldn't upset the chill teachers or talk over them or anything like that.

    Yes and no…maybe the first interruption, but you remind the whole class to raise their hand and/or you just stop talking till they understand that their behavior is unacceptable

    • @mg-cx5tv
      @mg-cx5tv 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trust me students don't give a shit whether you talk or not they know Teachers would be blamed for not teaching or for bad grades and parents are ever ready to put blame on teachers anyway. Trust me it is my personal experience as a primary and middle school teacher. I have tried everything and teach students one topic in every way possible I can and still they don't pay attention or behave in acceptable behaviour, in the end parents blame us like it is our fault. They literally argue with us in front of kids while we are responding politely. Kids can see all this .

    That's sad, students shouldn't treat teachers like second class citizens. And everyone don't hate your teacher without a reason, like I know many people who hate their teacher without any reason,except they didn't let you got to the bathroom in their class anymore when you went 2 times before and took 10min each time. Like why do people do that?

    I'm no teacher but I'm hopeful I can become one and maybe even master it.
    I believe that in this video these issues can be dealt with if the teacher had a system the students can use without asking the teacher therefore not interrupting the following day, If they ever have a question it is already answered by having a wall corresponding to all of those repeated questions…
    This might work if the teacher sticks to this. Letting students know that the teacher is organized and well thought out will speed the process. It’s just a thought but I hope this helps.
