There Are Strong, Independent Female Bees Who Don't Need A Man

  • This honeybee population proves what many of us already knew - girls run the world.
Researchers have proven that a population of Cape bees living in South Africa has figured out a way to reproduce sans the dudes.
We probably don’t need to remind you most animals reproduce sexually and therefore need both a male and a female to produce an offspring. But honeybees have a bit of a different approach.
Queen bees mate with a drone, or male honeybee, during their so-called "seasonal mating flights." The fertilized queen then forms a new colony by laying eggs inside a honeycomb. Some of those eggs are fertilized and hatch into female worker bees or queens. Some aren’t fertilized - those eggs hatch into drones.
But this particular population in South Africa doesn't need the drones or a "seasonal mating flight." Researchers say they lay eggs that are fertilized by their own DNA.
We still don't know why this happens in Cape bees, but the how is becoming a bit more clear.
After comparing the entire genomes of a Cape bee and a regular honeybee, researchers found several genes have big differences.
A researcher studying the population said: "The question of why this population of honeybees in South Africa has evolved to reproduce asexually is still a mystery. But understanding the genes involved brings us closer to understanding it."

Bee colonies need drones from many different hives to prevent inbreeding depression. When workers lay (usually) a drone, it’s a sign the queen is not doing her job.

These bees are a big problem to the bee world, and any hives found on beekeepers' lands containing this strange mutation are burned in an effort to keep them from spreading. These "cloning" cape bees are the result of a strange occurrence when a worker from a hive somehow unlocks the ability to lay eggs of her own like a queen. But in the process, she loses her instinctual urge to work for the hive. She just starts laying eggs that hatch into copies of herself, with the same flawed mutation.
So you soon have dozens of fake queens roaming the hive laying more eggs that will hatch into more useless workers. And the hive's resources are being used to care for these young without knowing it's a waste. Sometimes the original workers catch on to the fact that there are impostor queens in their hive, but in the confusion when trying to rid the hive of them, the real queen is killed as well. At this point, the hive is doomed. No new real worker eggs are laid, and the hive's food stores are eventually depleted. Then the mutated cape bee girls fly off to try and infiltrate a new hive to continue their carefree, fake queen life.

Yeah I kinda gave the video a dislike as it doesn't mention that fact of the cape bee, they can become a serious detriment if unchecked.

So they exist in the bee world as well. Interesting.

Some Fool feminist compair Humans with Bees
Worker bees are all females , Queen is the female
And Males only mate with queens and later kicked out by the worker Bees .
But brother These male bees may not collect honey or food for their colony ...
But they atleast Pollinate, which is essential for Mother nature , They are important Pollinators ,
And Moths and Butterfly males are also good Pollinators .
And brother I have seen a stupid news where Said these strong independent Bees don't need male and these Females started taking nectar and vitamins and proteins from Male flowers 😂🤣😂
YOU DONT HAVE TO BE EMBARRASSED BECAUSE YOU ARE A MALE

It’s natural but this causes inbreeding in colonies

This is the stupidest title ever. I’m literally paused at 6 seconds and refuse to go on. Just because one species lives its life a certain way DOES NOT mean that it is the right way of doing things for all species.

Especially since there's one important thing. WE ARE NOT BEES. We are humans who can't make wax to make our homes out of, we don't throw up our food for our children, we don't dance to communicate. We are humans that speak, we build houses out of wood and cement, we make baby food or use breast milk thanks to nutrients of the food we all cook. "Girls rule," nah, we all rule. People seem to forget both sexes play a role in the whole staying alive thing.
