Operation Genesis is the Fallout: New Vegas of the Jurassic Park franchise. Had so much of its intended content cut before release but still went on to become one of the best additions within its franchise.
The game on its own still has alot of fun shit to do, stuff that holds up today and was amazing back in 2001 While it would have been cool to be able to have sea dinosaurs, I think this game is perfect either way (and it's not like mods don't exist)
jpog did something that jwe couldn't replicate which was the vibe, not sure how to describe it but when it comes to jpog, it holds the feels i'd get from jp movies

I really wish that JPOG would get remastered or just ported to steam and all modern consoles with all of this cut content, and maybe they could even remove the 60 dinosaur limit. I just enjoy JPOG more than JW:E 1 and 2, it feels like a more complete game than they do.
I miss playing this game. I used to love getting my park to five stars and then releasing the dinosaurs and removing all shelters from the island. Great times.
Looking back this video explains so much behind the promo images, and these unfiltered 3D really bring back the old pc/Xbox original era nostalgia. Brilliant work in showing us this. Thank you!
I knew it! I always felt like it was suppose to have breeding in the game and genders. That's one thing I wanted for the game more then anything, I was so disappointed that they never added. Also it always did felt like it was missing more content. this is amazing I wonder what it be like if they did do more to the game if they had more time on schedule?
It pains me how much was cut. This is THE definitive JP game for me. Man...... I can't imagine what it would have been like if they released the version they had planned
Even I wouldn't personally give Lucca the satisfaction of owning all the credit for the resources featured here on this video, it's amazing to witness some of these models arise from their game files. Things such as the Vet and Med facilities were understandably cut out due to the Ranger Station's existence and time constraints. But despite this, the opportunity of restoring the content was there--and still is. Some mods have included their own behavioral mechanisms and buildings in conjunction with the original's games handiwork along with some of the cut foliages and animals like Baryonyx and Iguanodon--and many more. Frankly JWE may proceed in out besting its forerunner but JPOG modding will never die out. Perhaps may be next some modder will find a way to incorporate a John Hammond game model as originally intended for one of its missions.

Even just a remaster of JPOG would bury the JWE series. It isn't nostalgia, anyone who says that shit clearly hasn't played JPOG then jumped directly into JWE, only things JWE has going for it over JPOG is graphics (15 years of hardware becoming more powerful, no freaking duh) and online updates, hell if JPOG had online updates, this cut content could've been added post launch and all it'd need would be a remaster, there'd be no need for JWE at all. There's more involvement and personality to it than JWE 1&2, and the only real "involvement" JWE 2 added was "omg the non existany stock image scientists are whining, oh no, set a timer on my phone and ignore the game until it goes off." The lack of gameplay is astounding, no guests requiring rescue if a tour vehicle is destroyed, because get this, even in JWE 2 they aren't actual models, still just static images that clip through eachother and buildings just so there can be "MORE" on screen. All about the quantity over quality with JWE 1&2. Still no lethal options to take down a rampaging dino, even if it was due to supposed restraints from Universal going "No guns" (Despite that being a glaringly stupid contradiction from the very series these games are based on, especially Jurassic World which was the basis for JWE, given that they went after the I. Rex with rocket launchers and a goddamn minigun), they could've gone along the lines of oh idk, LETHAL GENE?! Like JPOG did 15 years before it and 18 before JWE 2?! Ffs. I have more but this is enough of a rant as it is. JPOG is better on all grounds other than it doesn't have as many dinos, and oh no the graphics, so horrible.. but the real issue and the superficial one can literally be chalked up to the Iron Man 2 quote "I am limited by the technology of my time."
@The_AmberMine Nice to find another JP channel that seems to have been a fan of the franchise back in the Original Trilogy days, I'm not even gonna apologize, JPOG remains the best Jurassic game of all time. Only game back then that was really dino focused in the JP world. Other than Trespasser that I didn't know existed back then.
There's SO MUCH potential that JWE could pull from JPOG but just never does sadly... :/ Like for example I never liked they didn't feature the minimal blood and gore of JPOG, or a carnivore grab and thrash mechanic, the lack of cows as a food option for carnivores, or the lack of lethal security measures like in JPOG, or even the lack of a custom island creator. If they gave us some of this missed potential and even enhanced the dinosaur behaviors and possibly adding unique quirks or even random personalities or traits to the Dinosaurs(like being docile/submissive by nature or being completely unhinged and attacking anything and everything on sight), then I feel like JWE could really contend with and possibly beat JPOG in terms of being a Dino Park Sim. We might have mods eventually to fix that though, so far we already do have a fix to some of the missing dinosaur behaviors thanks to modding in JWE2 as well.
