I think Guerlain is one of the few makeup brands that still has some of the most beautiful, vintage-inspired makeup packaging. And that perfume bottle was gorgeous and the notes sound like they would smell nice. 😊💕

I recommend "Platinum Girl" (1990's) by Eve Golden who also wrote about Theda Bara. I've read that Jean's death was listed as cerebral edema caused by renal failure which may have been set in motion by scarlet fever when Jean was 15. I've also read that her hair was bleached with peroxide, soap flakes and ammonia and that there may have been some leaching into her system which contributed to her death. (We'll probably never know now.) Jean's first big movie, 'Hell's Angels" has held up remarkably over the years. Even the special effects still look good. Jean was an inexperienced actress at the time but she had presence or star quality---and real eyebrows! One or two scenes were done with early color film. Jean Harlow was a voracious reader with a photographic memory and worked with screenwriter Carey Wilson on a novel called "Today is Tonight" which was published long after Jean's death. I have a copy but haven't read it yet!

Jean's mother never prevented her from getting medical care. That is fictional information that came from an awful book about Jean that was written in the 1960's.

@@mandevilla2270 late response, but when you have kidney failure, your body doesn't get rid all of the "urea" so it breaks down into ammonia.

Just finished watching this video. Where can I buy the perfume mentioned and what is the price? As far as the cake mascara, it's a classic. It was still being sold in the mid to late 60's and was the first mascara I ever used as a teen. Wish it was still around because it was better than the wand version being sold today!
But to spit in it is gross, plus everyone knows that saliva is loaded with bacteria.

If I remember correctly, I had heard that her mother did not believe in going to doctors. I heard this in the 60’s, when I was a child. One of those things lost to the mists of time, perhaps.

I like all of Harlow's films which I have seen. The perfume is magnificent. I didn't know she used it. It is a favourite of mine.
I'm not sure, but could you do Ingrid Bergman ❤ or Greta Garbo 😍 I don't honestly know if Ingrid wore much make up but I have another suggestion such as Helen Kane or Clara Bow

I use Kirks soap. My hair thrived. I called the company and commented how U loved it. I’ve used vinegar as well apple cider. I do remember women using white distilled vinegar as a feminine wash. Wow what a coincidence.
I have to correct you about Jean Harlow's death, she died of peritonitis because her Mother was a devout Christian Scientist and would not allow her to go to a doctor.
That is incorrect. There are rumors that Paul Bern kicked her in the stomach prior to her appendix bursting, but that was never proved.
I read the it was kidney failure.
She was ill at 15 and then after that she had high blood pressure so that eventually her kidneys just gave out.
@@lhzookYes Jean died of kidney failure that was misdiagnosed. Jean did see a doctor in the months before her death. Sadly he misdiagnosed her as having the flu and a mild gallbladder infection. Jean's mother never prevented her from getting medical care. That is fictional information that came from an awful book about Jean that was written in the 1960's.
@@saragoldfarb145 None of that information is accurate. That all came from the 1960's book that was a load of rubbish. Jean's friends like Myrna Loy and William Powell, dismissed the book as fabricated nonsense.
