If you want to see a pioneer in the public face-lift movement, then watch Elizabeth Taylor in "Ash Wednesday", her 1973 film with Henry Fonda. They play a long-married couple, with Henry as the husband who tires of his older wife, falling in love with a younger woman. Liz was getting a facelift in real life, so they incorporated the whole process right into the movie! Her role as the discarded wife shows her as older at first- then young, refreshed and rejuvenated in order to win her husband back. She looked amazing after her recovery! (Which it also shows.) I guess the morale of the movie was that, a troubled, estranged relationship goes much deeper than just putting on a new face. Because while she had new suitors after her facelift, old Henry still didn't want her back. I found it to be quite an "eye opening"😅 film.
I'm in my early 40's and ive already decided to avoid elective surgery, botox and filters. I am pro retinol and peels, and I wouldn't rule out lasers and things depending on how technology goes as I age.
I'm 63yo and have never had botox, fillers or face lift. Never will. I have professional facials monthly and use sunscreen. I always get told I look younger than I am
Another excellent vid, Laura! I agree that impossible standards are being set. To avoid getting pulled down into it, we have to develop ourselves to our highest potential. Nothing can compare to authenticity! Thank you so very much! Well done!
I never understood 1:49 pulling the skin taunt, the skin is like elastic so I would imagine the more it stretches the less bouncy it is so I feel like it is counterintuitive
I have a deep fear of aging but somehow ive already wiped off the options of doing cosmetic surgeries in any fashion or form for myself. I know its a slippery slope that my phobia and insecurities will definitely propel.
I'm 43 and 44 early next year I've never had any Botox or fillers, family relatives and my sister has but I'm a ex beauty therapist so I've had a lot of facials and have used many products. I have had laser for scarring on my face and neck. Angles and bronzer even hair colouring and if u have been to the dentist can give u a very beautiful look. Great video ❤❤❤❤
I’m 56 and I’ll just have to accept any perceived imperfections. The risk just isn’t worth it. My luck I’d end up on Botched. I personally think Bella looked better before. Christina looks almost unrecognizable.
I think alot of it has gone to far to say the least! It's being treated like a fade by most it seems. It's good when done for the right reasons. This video is outstanding Laura!
The thing is, I don't think they are beautiful. I have my own standard, it takes time to appreciate the beauty of a person. Also you cannot enjoy an extravagant Hollywood lifestyle and stay young and beautiful. They just want you to follow the stars and make someone else rich, that's all.
I think if someone wants a facelift, they need to wait as long as possible. The first one only lasts about 10 years. They say each one after that lasts even shorter.
I feel a facelift looks good on older women (50ish +) but for me by the time im that age i don't think i would care that much. Plus the pain and recovery, I could never! I would honestly never go through unnecessary surgery that also costs a fortune. I will use retinol and moisturise lots and hope for the best 😂
When people are young often a facelift seems so extreme, that they would never get one - but wait until Father Time actually affects the face and everything starts falling - a facelift begins looking very desirable.
I personally am happy to go under the needle and reluctant to go under the knife. I love skin rejuvenation treatments, and there are many non invasive options to preserve vs enhance
I’m sorry but Bella H looks worse in the after! I would think even from the male gaze her before is better. Maybe for an elite man who has had every type of girl the facelift look would be better, as it is a bit masculine like almost looks like someone in drag when heavy makeup is added. But the youthful look always beats the chiseled perfection look to me, because it ages the person in a rough way
The modern makeup and face look is sharp angular features which resides with masculine border line drag/trans. Old hollywood had rounder softer edges and hair. I agree with you
To me, it looks like the facelifts of old were far superior to the ones of today. Sorry, but this is my opinion, this is how I see it. If we judge only by effect, how it looks, those looked far more natural and beautiful.
My generation is the last generation that actually ages. With the advancments in aesthetic medicine these days and the idea of enhancments already normalized for young people, it soon will be rare to see a naturally aged face.
I think Kris Jenners lifts are natural looking. Subtle but effective. She has the right surgeon 😉. Obviously her daughters will follow suit, when needed. 😊
The multiple face lifts, fillers and Botox have caught up with Kris Jenner. She has entered uncanny valley. Her daughters’ natural features (bodies and faces) have been so altered already that they will never be able to choose a look that’s subtle and effective. That ship has sailed.
@@ItIsYourMomEvaluating her results (or anyone’s results) based on a highly filtered image is silly. She looks odd when her face moves in videos and I imagine even more odd if seen in person/3D. Same with the Kardashians and others with highly altered faces.
Ultraceuticals have a device that trains your skin muscles and u use a serum with it and it goes down the hair follicles. Training the muscles which in turn make u look younger. Also if u have oily skin does wonders, that also makes u look young. 😊😊😊😊 Love the video, right up my alley 🤩🤩🤩

Wow interesting I need to watch
Me too I'm gonna watch❤❤

I wish Marilyn manroe spoke more about her nose job and chin shave down . Good for u for doing you my love
I’m 33. I’m taking advantage of it. It’s literally what ancient royals wish they could have access too. Good for you tho !
For some of us with eczema, rosacea, or other skin conditions, just having clear skin would make us happy.
I can relate and definitely agree!
Love this content. I’m so glad I grew up watching “Botched”

@@Laurajaneatelier I just love everything you do! 💕🥰

Yes that’s true I guess it’s to pull tight for the surgery
I agree! Bouncy skin equates to youth. Tight skin revealing all the boney contours of the face makes someone look old as hell😂

OMG, your bed is fabulous; I love the yellow velutto and glamorous platinum combo.
I'm good with my lines..... it's natural.😊
You put in a lot of information in your videos and it shows. 👍🏽

I think it's sad that women in their 20's are getting literal facelifts. They're definitely trying to live up to some impossible beauty standard.

it shoulnt be desirable if people are bothered by natural aging its a problem and they are insecure
what an old hag thing to say
I feel like face lift makes more sense than fillers
Same fillers I think look unnatural. I know face lifts aren't natural but you just end up looking like you're younger self if done well
Some these folks ruined their faces. Why Some of these 20-30's are having lofts and all this work is outrageous
Omg I will keep my wrinkles 😅thank you for sharing 😊
So very interesting. Great video, thank you!

A "natural" facelift? You've got to be kidding me.
Christina looks like a completely different person, yikes 😮
I know!! It’s weird
She looks like a crazy person with that makeup.
I would definitely choose facelift over filler and botox
You’re insane. I’m milking that Botox as long as I can
Very informative--thank you!
Worst male facelifts I've ever seen: Kenny Rogers, Liberace, and Barry Manilow.
Yes!!!!
Hi Laura did women in that era every used African Shea butter to maintain they’re youthful look ? Thank you 😊 😊
Exept a very well done nose job, I didn't know Grace Kelly have had other cosmetic surgeries.
Yes some nose jobs are very well done
She obviously had a facelift.
I don’t believe she had a nose job. Just a subtle facelift as she got older.
Altrought Xtina looks phenomenal radiant skin isn't a thing that comea to mind when i see her, her skin has more of matte full makeup look to it
"Xtina"??
@roseyc.5846 i saw her name writed this way coupe of times and i thought it looks cool

Christina was in an ad for filler, years ago. I think she looks good, but wish she would have smaller lips.
Surgery is still very expensive - it’s a status symbol these days
If I had the money I'd get a face-lift too.
same 🤣

I couldn’t have surgery just for physical appearance. I’d only have surgery if I needed it.
I remember thinking Dianne Cannon was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen.
Laura you are alot more beautiful than any of these women

Fair enough, at least she doesn’t look like a different person
You think Kris Jenner's face is natural looking? I've never heard that before.
@ to be fair, I haven’t seen the show in over 6 years. I only went by the photos she showed.

Lindsay Lohan too
Yes true

I love face-off.
Moshi
I need to watch it again
Bella Hadid was naturally beautiful before but now just looks like a young boy! She looks weird now and Christina too! Sorry but it doesn’t look good

Ivana Trump. Jackie O.
Ivanka has gone too far and is now in the uncanny valley. It’s unsettling to look at these faces, particularly in videos.
looks like Laura has a betty page hairdo
