Best video ever! I’ve just started needle felting (and have been wishing I started it sooner) and this was an excellent guide to eyes (especially complicated ones). I’m an artist by nature so the drawing references were very helpful. Thank you so much! ❤
Thank you. I make knitted and crochet toys for a charity and want to move away from stitching the faces to needle felting them - I think they're cuter that way. Your videos are great to watch and I like your conversing toys.
Thanks for this, glad you've found the videos helpful, yes it's a great way to put eyes on knitted or crochet toys. Hope you have fun doing that 😊 Thanks for watching
Aw thank you, shaping can be tricky, but it will get easier with practice 😊 rolling the wool as tightly as possible to begin with helps, I have an older video on shaping which may also help? th-cam.com/video/WPQnkA03tg8/w-d-xo.html and there's one in felting a ball too th-cam.com/video/m1njmmrT46E/w-d-xo.html hope this helps, thanks for watching
Thanks for the comments, using the grid technique can be really useful sometimes 🙂 your blue tone portrait sounds fun, I more recently finished Sadness (the blue character) and published a video on how I made her here if you'd like to see her finished 😊 th-cam.com/video/a660l8vvnAk/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much! I am working on a kit project and it says needle felt the eyes, nose, and mouth. Like ‘yup’ I know exactly how to do that - Not! I’m off to watch your video on fixing problems now! Then back here to make nose and mouth v2.0
Hi Helen glad you've found this useful, it can be frustrating when there's an assumption that you know how to do something, many thanks for the lovely feedback, hope you manage to get your eyes nose and mouth felted ok 🙂
Thanks for the tutorial. I really like it and how it helped me to make my doll's face. Could you please make tutorial for anime hair/hairstyles. I'd appreciate it 💖.
I've just started needle felting a couple days ago. Can I ask why do you make a base and cover it in yellow instead of making the whole thing in yellow?
Hi there, welcome to the addictive craft that is needle felting 😊 I tend to use a coarse core carded wool to create the shape first, partly because it's quicker to felt and because it's cheaper than coloured wool, but you can make the whole thing out of coloured wool. I'd recommend carded wool as this is easier to felt than tops wool. If you want to see a bit more on different needles and wool you might want to watch this video on when to stop stabbing here: th-cam.com/video/oR-RlKflN4w/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching and hope you have fun felting
@@juliesfeltedfriends thank you very much. It seems there's a lot to learn about the different wool and needles to use but it's very addictive making things. Thank you for your videos 🙂
Hi, yes I used a white core wool for the base, I usually use carded Jacob wool batt, but any coarse core wool would be fine. The yellow wool is a carded sheep's wool that a friend bought me, it came in a pack of assorted colours, I'm afraid I'm not sure where she got it from. The yellow is less coarse than the core wool and because it's carded wool is slightly easier to felt. Hope this information helps :)

What wool did you use as the base is it just white core wool? And is the yellow wool also core wool?
