- Petronella; Duke of Perth; Circassian Circle; Flowers of Edinburgh; Glenburnie Rant (Fight About the Fireside); Merry Lads of Ayr; The Triumph
First published in 1924 and arranged by Michael Diack, the music in the first RSCDS collection of dances (Book 1) includes some of the most danceable and energetic music to be found in all the Society’s publications. The tunes are all traditional and were carefully collected from archives of ballroom dance volumes available at the time.
This medley runs through all the rollicking reels of Book 1 and we think it would still make a great selection for any ballroom dance today.
Musicians:
Muriel Johnstone (Piano), Pete Clark (Fiddle), Peter Shand (Keyboard) and Tim Macdonald (Fiddle).

Bravo! These tunes showcase some of my favorite dances. I've taught Petronella to students in several international schools as part of their physical education class to their, and my delight. It is so fine to hear
you musicians pulling all that energy from the notes on the page to connect to the feet on the floor! DJ in Knoxville Tn
