Wode maya is the reason why I bought in the Gambia. Few months more and I will settle .I also wanted to go to Ghana first. ❤ the same video with Juliette was the booster as I did live 17 years in the UK myself. Its destiny. People will not support your vision .simply because they cannot see what you can see !!!I originally I am from Gabon but I feel home in the Gambia too .I always said as a child I will visit kunta kinte country but being a French speaker and watching roots with French dubbing etc I had no idea of the Gambia as a country. Before wode Maya video and when I went to the Gambia for the first time , what a surprise to hear about kunta kinte Island. !
For elderlies it's hard for them to change environments and habits ..yes I agree Africa call us to come !!! Period !

I like that she refuses to delve too deep into the negative things of our past and instead chose to focus on our bright present and futures instead. Part of the mind programming is to keep us in a loop where we’re constantly reminded that we were subjugated (through tv and movies). The only way to move forward is to stay steadfast and keep our vibrations HIGH by focusing on positive thoughts and feelings only (and not the negativity constantly fed to us through media). You are showing this beautiful resort .What percentage of Gambians can enjoy this place ? The guy who was building her furniture saw what her and her husband had brought with them from Canada . He was making furniture for them and you could argue that he could have used that skill to make a good living , but he couldn't see it ! He saw a young couple maybe, close to his age ,but because of the exchange rate, the money they brought from Canada made them upper middle class in Gambia !!

I am a diaspora and went to uganda just recently. The price of houses for rent 10 times higher when they see me . They know from the look with out asking where I am from. On the phone with my agent, 2 million a month but when we get there, changed to 7 to 8 million per month. she is right foxs.
Absolutely correct! Isn't that so unfortunate and hurtful! One of his previous guests called it the "black tax".
Am sorry that you had that experience in uganda. Honestly, for comfortable housing in uganda without furniture us $200-300 for a two bedroom. Furnished or airbnb is between $400- 800 a month

she is the best out of them all. she said the real truth . most diasporians just come on your interview to talk rubbish. out of all what she said here is building bridges from the west to the continent. And also africa is not for all diasporian too. In africa you respect your husbands not like in the west you kick your husband out of the house. They should not be arrogant. In africa they just have to learn a adapt. If not i see most of them relocating back to where they come from.

Greetings Webnation Africa, this beautiful lady and her family decision to leave Canada was an excellent move and her family back in Canada should follow her example. You see, Canada and the collective West is becoming more fascist “ Mussolini” by the day and blacks will experience the worst of the fascist- communist ideologies. She’s very smart and alert, the real deal. You have to love her fighting spirit. Thanks so much for sharing her story.
20mins into the interview. Very good points. It really depends on many factors if Gambia is for you. If you have children, healthcare needs, financial requirements, what you can actually adjust to. As you dont necessarily know until you actually have to live there with power cuts and the likes. Some upsides, the weather, beach, fresh fruits etc etc. But it's totally down to the individual if they can really make it work. If you can try it and establish something that benefits self and the community.....good on you. It's a WHOLE experience.

She is a PIONEER ( not receiving any support from friends in Montreal); she projected also a sense of HISTORY ( the mixing of various African ethnies to produce a Haitian).
She also touched upon a subject that is upsetting to many Afro-Americans : WHY are so many YOUNG African men and women risking their lives to reach the European shores ( Lampedusa ) or the U.S. border when Africa offers much more in QUALITY of life ( weather, sea, plenty of land).

You guy, I don’t get you, the Lady and the family are living in The Gambia but you continued asking her questions about Africa, how many African countries have they visited? All your questions should have been based on The Gambia. Wise up.
What I have noticed is that a lot of Africans out of a sense of brotherhood speak in terms of Africa and end up generalizing. I just commented on a Ghanaian TH-camr who has a Russian wife and he was saying all Africans are circumcised simply because that’s what he knows.
I had to tell him very few people in Southern African are circumcised especially in Zimbabwe or Zambia where 10% or less are. It was never a thing for us. To his credit he did apologize. Outsiders will hear constant references of Africa and think how Gambia is is how every other African country is like. So you are absolutely correct stick to Gambia just like this women cannot speak for the US if she has not lived there.

they followed their instinct and knew they had to live and go to Africa.

He never did. He interviews a guy who wants to be President of Haiti but that was done in Ghana. He was overlaying a lot of video about Haiti so I can see why some people not paying attention may have thought he went to a Haiti. He never did. I did not go to Haiti because even after beating the French in 1804 and gained our dependence, we are still fighting until this day. We are the example of what Africains and Native American can do. Haiti is in another major crisis.
