Good work brother. Just a head up regarding the "nasty stuff" you call the lead. Pouring molten lead into anything you want won't harm you a bit. But rubbing your nose (like you did), face, mouth etc after you touched lead well...that's the nasty stuff you don't want. At melting temperature (621F) lead won't harm you in any way. The only time you don't want to breath lead is at the boiling temperature(3180F) which you cannot reach with the tools you have in your garage.
What they don’t tell you in the video. Lead and copper once in salt water creates an electrical pulse somewhat which attracts the fish. Check it out. I’ve made these for years.
@@johncoon3132 no I didn’t make them, might have been a Christmas present, I don’t remember. I think they sell them at Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops.(Google garage door rod holders)
Just made some big ones for the new 300' and deeper rule here in N Cal. 3/4 copper, 7" long filled with lead, about 24 ounces.

Heat your copper before adding the lead, you will have a much better result, you don’t want any water left in the tube.

watching see how to make copper jig, but the cloth your wearing will do absolutely nothing to protect you from lead vapor.
Lead vapor is nonexistent until it reaches boiling point, which isn’t going to happen with the tools he is using.
