I own 3 of these. Absolutely impressed with how well it stood up to the destruction!!! Considering this knife is not intended to be used like this in the first place, I'm very pleased.

With all the supersteels on the market, we often don't give enough credit to steels like AUS-8 or 8Cr14MoV that - as demonstrated - can still really take more than the average person would ever want to subject them to. Good to see all the stabby-stabby power of that blade.

Mostly these so called supersteels are less flexible and tough. The edge retention is better.
If you ask yourself honestly: for WHAT purpose I wan‘t that Kind of knife?? Will the lower steel be suitable for my purpose or do I need a higher quality steel?
In that case most „lower“ grade steels will do the job.

Why does Knife Center still criticize Cold Steel because when unlocked the blades generally don’t fall freely back into their handle? KnifeCenter has their priorities mixed up. “Fidget friendly “? What a dead end criterion. This opens when it should, doesn’t lock fail. Closes easily and safely. It doesn’t floppety flop, that’s all.

Phenomenal Dagger Style Knife and a very Tough Tip
I own a couple of those and you made my confidence go up higher the it was after the car roof stab test and the spine and edge wack test was proof of it strength also , the tee stump bent and broke the blade but the screw and handle stayed together and that great.
The old Cold Steel Proof test was not this good.
This is what any true knife owner want to see their hard earn money for through in a test for destruction. I enjoy watching these test especially when it's a

    Amazing.
The tip kept on penetrating the car hood even after the first tip breakage.
Then after the second breakage it still stabbed the wood fine.
The screw can be adjusted, so sideplay can be reversed. The lock didn't collapse, which is a major plus in a stabber.
Where did the tip had its first break? When stabbing the roof straight in, or when the tip was in the roof and you started doing the side bending of the knife.

@@cloudnine8842 a good self defense blade should have a few qualities about them. Fixed blade (obviously for a harder to brake knife) you can get small fixed blades what are easy to conceal, crkt minimalist is one example. Other features a good offensive/defensive knife should have apart from a fixed blade is a double edge blade ( may be illegal in or your country) basically double edge blades are more gonna do more damage to flesh, veins and internal body parts because of its double edge profile and lastly but not least a good defensive/offensive knife should definitely have a finger gaurd on the handle to stop your hand running down the Sharpe edge of the blade from the force generated when you go to stab something. Hope this helps

I would like to know your opinion on the next issue to which I do not have a clear answer, which is important to many. It is clear that the longer a knife is, the more effective it is in self-defense. The length of the blade on the Ti-Lite is 15.3 cm, but the length from the tip of the blade to the opening element is 13.9 cm. The question is: when you perform self-defense, does the blade enter the attacker's body to the opening element or to the handle?

"better" is subjective, S35VN is better at wear resistance, but AUS-8 has better toughness, making it better for destruction type tests lime these. Refer to the amount of S35VN blades he has already broken relatively easily.

@@joex I have heard a lot of bad things about Cold Steel knives and i personally never own any of their models, but i just can't resist the feeling that their standards for sharpening, locking mechanisms, blade finish etc are far superior than anything i have ever seen before. Their videos about blade testing are unique and are never performed in such way by any other knife company. I think that "bad reputation" comes only from very high serial production of their knives. Because you just can't achieve both quality and quantity.

    • @TheBudgetguy_K.T

All stainless knives are usually harder than Carbon knives this greatly reduces there toughness when it comes to bending or flexing stainless blades. Which is why most kitchen knives are stainless! Stainless holds edge longer over carbon it is harder! And carbon is more flexible and tough than stainless!

What was loose in there? Pivot screw? Awesomeness AUS 8 toughness. I take back what I said before about all liner locks being total losers. Apparent this one doesn’t slide off the tang from spine whacks like most (looking at you Spyderco). I find this knife almost impossible to open with one hand. However outstanding penetration, no wonder the stiletto shape was invented to defeat aristos’ light chain mail in Medici Italy.
