big reason why i bought the 2024 forester instead of waiting for the refreshed 2025 or buying a 2024 outback
it looks cool, but it's slow/laggy and having physical knobs is just so much more convenient

The issue with touch screens is that their flat, monotonous design makes it nearly impossible to develop muscle memory. Additionally, most touch screens are slow to respond. Using them often requires taking your eyes off the road or constantly shifting your focus between the screen and the road, which is a recipe for an accident. Carmakers are choosing to overlook the fact that things can go wrong in the blink of an eye.

100%. People change radio, play with Ac and volume. All the rest of this shit is tech that makes cars cost 35k instead of 23k.
They need a ludite version of thier wilderness version for those of us who don't want more crap that breaks.

The screen is actually what has been hurting sales of the outback. Families that have no option and need the size have been dealing with it in the ascent. Alot of people have bought foresters over the outback the last 2 years largely due to that screen. Its called knowing your consumers. Subaru people are largely simple no nonsense people who are value and reliability driven, 2 things that more tech on the long run is not. And or older people who have no use for huge tech screens.

I have a 2022 RAV4 and paid extra for the AWD model. Still had some slippage and lost control a few times on mud up in South Dakota this past year. I might sell it and go back to a Subaru just to be on the safe side.

Subaru is so lazy. Wtf is wrong with some of these car companies that rely soley on the name. Lexus has done the same thing

Smart people won't buy ANYTHING with CVT. Good for snowmobiles, terrible for cars

The price alone kills it. Subaru gave so little and wants the consumer too much for a refresh. This car is dated compared to the competition. People don't fall for Subarus lazy attempt to call this all new.
