Loved SVR 06 because of how challenging the matches were. The AI was so intelligent that if you faced a heel champion and were close to winning, the champ would actually try to get disqualified to keep the belt. Haven't seen that since.
This game was a absolute work of art for PS2 in my experience back in 2005-2006. Spent hours as a kid on the Career mode alone, not to mention the godlike soundtrack.

I like HCTP but there are things in it that annoy me. Like i remember playing Benoit and i could not get the AI to stay out on the mat long enough to use his diving headbutt finisher properly. They got up too fast in that game.
Definitely one of my favourite WWE games, me and my best friend use to play on our PSP’s all the time having hour long matches against our created superstars. I will say the GM Mode was ridiculously unfair, me and some friends went back to play it a few years ago and if you wasn’t booking steel cage matches every week it was an absolute pain and I don’t think I ever completed it since it was so easy to fail.

One of my favorite wrestling games. Loved GM Mode. I had TNA CAWs. Just turn the stamina meter and beginning match mini games off. If this game had custom entrance themes and superstar threads it would have been like the perfect game.
I prefer to simply adjust stamina drain all the way down - that might work for you. If you turn stamina off, tweaking momentum gain down might be a good idea unless you want more finishers.
it was either that or ‘08 I think I remember the steel stairs bounced from the ropes, hit someone, then bounced off the ropes again and out of the ring. I think I’ve seen a ladder do that once as well as just absolutely rag dolled once. Glorious times tbh

Such a great wrestling game, it had Amazing Season mode, the gameplay felt perfected. The PPV MODE is decent. The roster is good, the graphics was just great for its time, the character model was really good, the match type were all there. One of the best WWE game of all time.

I just bought this game in January and replayed it. I was very surprised at how well this game still holds up. Graphically, it's among the best PS2 games ever, the wrestlers look very good, stadiums were gorgeous and the entrances were very detailed. Story Mode was fun as hell too, especially ECW, Eddie controlling Undertaker's urn and the Smackdown vs Raw storyline. One of the best wrestling games ever and is up there with No Mercy and HCTP.

Even when the game first came out, I thought SVR2007 on the PS2 looked like shit compared to how beautiful SVR2006 looked. Ah man, Burn in my Light is so nostalgic now. I can’t even remember which SvR games I liked because they all had some real great stuff. The bar brawl where you can do an interactable stunner and drop the TV on the other for the KO was a blast. Fighting in the street of times square was a personal favorite with destroying limos, the matrix jump and jumping off the heli. Some of the seasons modes were really great in general. Christian’s Road to Wrestlemania was hilarious. The physics for some of the games with weapons bouncing off wrestlers, the ropes and sometimes freaked out was great. My personal favorite addition though was a DLC thing, introducing Ministry Undertaker. Oh and allowing you to recolor wrestler outfits was neat. So much nostalgia haha

I swear, I did the Eddie steals the Undertaker's hen storyline with so many wrestlers "It was my favourite storyline" 2K can keep with the original stories but give us storylines for some of the most popular superstars. Also, My Universe has it's moments but it still doesn't touch TH mode. You can create a brand in Universe mode now. I say bring GM mode back that way. You're tasked with creating a fourth brand. Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 was the first wrestling game I have played. The intro is awesome too, and it is mainly because the intro for Raw was badass
