    I bought a large white trunk to store my infant niece’s stuff in th-cam.com/users/postUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg , as she comes to my house frequently. For now, it’s toys on one side and diapers, wipes, and other baby care items on the other. As she gets older, it will be all toys. I had originally wanted a trunk with a hinged lid, but I was afraid of her smashing or pinching her fingers in it. This will be a much safer option. The lid has great padding in it and it is actually nice to sit on. It feels very sturdy and secure. Looks like it can be wiped clean easily. If it gets abused by her, I won’t be terribly upset because I paid less than $50 for it on Prime Day.

    Last trip I actually put a single SIM on top of my camp bed, was bliss. That extra comfort with the extra height. It was 30 degrees out though so keeping warm wasnt an issue.

    Good video. I’m glad you got to the part where you say that a campbed plus SIM is the best solution. It really is. Quality of sleep is so important when camping. If you are comfortable then you can get a better night’s sleep than at home (quiet, dark, fresh air). But if you don’t sleep well camping can be awful. I use an outwell posadas xl bed with a 12cm dreamboat xl SIM on top, and then a good sleeping bag and pillow. Total cost about £300 but well worth it if you’re a frequent camper. Of course, I started out with airbeds and they are comfortable, but so so risky if you get a leak. You may end up stuck or wake up with a really bad back if it’s slightly deflated during the night. Airbeds are a bit of a false economy tbh just like a poor quality tent

      to be fair, this is totally subjective and as with any piece of furniture - different things suit different people. I have campbeds, SIMs and Airbeds and I find by far that the airbed is the most comfortable, for me. I'm a side sleeper and have yet to find a campbed which is comfortable. Also campbeds are very narrow in comparison to an airbed. Good single airbeds are 99cm wide, even the Posadas XL is only 77cm wide and that includes the metal bars down each side. Where I am camping with electric my first choice is always the airbed. I have the Intex beds and the aerobed. I have 6 airbeds in total, all except the aerobed around 6-8 years old and still going strong. the aerobed is 3 years old. In comparison I have had my Zempire Slumberlite Pro SIMs replaced 4 times under warranty and do not trust them at all. I have a bad back and am 6ft tall. I find a good airbed to be the most comfortable and most supportive for me
      Everyone has their own needs, their own experiences. It is not clear cut

    You read my mind. That's exactly what my sister did for her fiancee and our 83 year old mother. Bought a Studland 8 tent from your good selves at Attwoolls and my sister made two of the back bedrooms into one master suite, put our mother into the inner tent and filled them all with outwell camp beds with 5cm SIM's for them and a 10cm SIM for our mother. (I used my trusty Westlake fishing bed. 😉)
    I agree wholeheartedly with @Explore Scotland, when it comes to a good nights sleep in the Great Outdoors, quality should be paramount over cost. 'Buy cheap, buy twice' springs to mind.

    Just returned from a family camping trip in England on airbeds with 4°C overnight temp. We had 2 season sleeping bags directly on the air beds and were fully clothed in the sleeping bags, 2 layers on the top half of our bodies. Also had blankets on top of the sleeping bags. We were all very cold around 4am. Crucially the coldest parts of my body were the ones facing the air bed. I completely agree with this video about the pros and cons of air beds.
    I am not sure we have the space in our car for camp beds but that seems the best way to go with SIM on top. Someone on our camp site recommended a tent heater which we would have space for so may just go with that as we have electric hookup.

    In my opinion on the campbed, you might as well just sleep on the ground… at least it is softer. Airbeds today is not the same as airbeds in the 80s, but we are going to give it one last time. If they break, next choice will be SIM or just blankets and blankets on top of isoliating matress.

    I have used an airbed on a couple of occasions when camping and didn't experience any of the issues you mentioned however, I didn't find it very comfortable as i woke feeling quite sweaty and clammy. I suspect this is due to the plastic material the bed is made of. I will be camping again next year and even though the mat seems quite comfortable, I will likely opt for the camp bed due to arthritis which makes it tough for me to sleep at ground level as I can't get up without some difficulty. I may by a mat and put it on the camp bed for extra comfort though.

    Air beds are fine until they go flat. *And they all eventually do.* You'll be on a camping trip one night and wake up on the ground with a flat mattress. And if you are not used to it, sleeping on the hard ground really sucks (and can be cold in the winter time)!
    Thats why I now only use camp beds.

    A lot of tents have 120cm bedrooms as standard. what's a good option for SIFs / airbeds to fit this format? as nearly all that I can see have a width of 130-137cm for doubles. For reference i've got a Vango Joro 600xl

    • @AttwoollsCoUk
      @AttwoollsCoUk  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m terms of SIM widths there isn’t really much options when you are looking for 120cm. The only thing you can do is opt for two doubles and a single which would give you a bit of room spare. 60cm per person is based of a foam roll mat but admittedly isn’t a true representation of the majority of the sleeping options on the market.
