Ha ha ha... They sure are. I imagine there's a similar amount of second hand Jotters lying around the UK that I've lost too. I just get a new on straight away. This one won't be my last. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

    ESSAY ALERT 🚨
Mid 60-year-old, always a pen fanatic, I recently came across a website all about the history of Parker pens. I’m sure fans of Parker know of this website.
I remembered I had bought a Jotter in the early 90s, replaced the cartridge with a bold cartridge, didn’t like the way it wrote particularly and so threw it in a box where it has been for decades. Website gave date codes so recently I found and dated my old black jotter to sometime in 1991. Decided to refill that jotter with a modern jotter refill, which I am assuming is their best work on the ink so far. Enjoying the way it writes, decided to purchase a new Jotter XL, and I really like this one which is perfect for my large hand.
Was in thrift store recently, came across a bag of old pens and pencils, looked at this bag, and to my amazement saw a stainless steel Jotter! The whole bag sold for around two dollars, threw away all the other cheap no-name pens, pencils, and kept the jotter. Replaced the cartridge with a fine point. What a thrift store find that was! So I use my old black Jotter and my new Jotter XL and the thrift store stainless steel Jotter and I’m happy as a clam now.
The Jotter stainless steel date code worked out to be about 1991 as well. Both were made in the USA, the new Parker XL was made in France. Does anybody know if the original is made in Janesville? How many other factories does Parker have in the USA? Happy writing!

Jotter design is just perfect. That's why it has lasted so long.

Fisher’s Original, with the side release button, seems like an improved Parker Jotter. Having to visually confirm the Jotter is retracted is a deal breaker.

      Visually confirm?

@@MoorlanderEDC The clicker sits in the same position and has similar tension, regardless of whether the cartridge is retracted. The only way to confidently assess the retraction is visually, or to feeling the tip. Do you disagree?

@@nate.leal. Oooooh I get you know sorry. Yes, definitely disagree. The clicker feels different and there's also an audible difference too. I can tell if it's extended or retracted without having to look at it. When it's extended the click also has less pressure on it or at least less force back from the spring. Whereas when it's retracted there's greater pressure on the clicker too. Having owned many of these over the years I've definitely never worried about whether it's in or out. I hope that helps 👍

@@MoorlanderEDC I’ve noticed that pressure difference. It’s just too subtle for me, especially when I’m focused on something else, and just trying to put the pen away. But even with that difference, you have to press the clicker to determine whether it needs to be pressed - or just look at the tip. Either way slows my thought process down, just enough to be irritated.
Nonetheless, I use the Jotter; and only dream of one day being able to afford the AG7.

I love parker pens I love the look of the metal ones but always find them a bit slippy so I tend to stick to the metal and plastic barrel ones but all around a awesome pen!!

It's great having the choice. I find the plastic barrel to be slippy. Such awesome pens. Thanks for watching buddy

It's a fantastic pen but I wish it had a bit more heft to it
