if you had of hooked up your trigger wire you can put it in reverse then aim it at where your tray ends then when it’s out of reverse aim it back up, next time you flick between reverse and in gear it will be set to what you had them set to last so reverse will always be aimed at your tray and normal driving will be aimed up to see what’s behind you
That would be hard to live with mate I agree. I strapped the monitor over the mirror really tight, have had no vibrations at all. Does your original mirror vibrate much?
Hope it keeps working mate. I've fitted half a dozen through our 4x4 shop over the last 4yrs... there's only one still working, (my one) the first I fitted. Great mirror, just so not reliable long term.
@@MudModsBeers Sorry mate, late reply. I didn't have a better option. True story coming up - My one that was still working just stopped the day before Xmas. Had a few spare bits and pieces around from the other dead units... worked out it was a camera problem (had no spare camera) Saw these were on sale for $165 at Autobarn. Bought one, got it home, opened it up and saw it had fingerprints all over the mirror... been opened already and I just couldn't chance it. Took it straight back and they replaced it for an unopened one. The new one was a dud out of the box. No biggie.. took it back boxing day (today) they tested it in-store, saw the fault (dead short in the ciggy plug) and they swapped it again for another unit. Refitted it all with the new camera and Tah Dah perfect for the moment!! I honestly can't fault the daytime picture... It's brilliant. If it lasts another 2 or 3 years I'd likely replace it with the same again.
Right call to use the cigaret lighter as a step down converter 12v to 5v. I have tried the other options that you were talking about, they seems to be sensitive to the input 12v voltage, in other word, if the 12v drops below 12v, it stops 5v supply…. Which was very annoying…. The cigarette lighter adaptor is a bit “dumb” and very insensitive to the 12v input… more reliable 5v supply in my opinion….
Looking at getting the same! Just curiously, have you figured out a way to take off your canopy (perhaps with a joint/plug in the camera wire)? We are looking at getting the extension cable for this purpose but not sure if this will work... keen to hear your thoughts. Cheers
Hey mate, thanks for the comment. Yes, have got the connection cable tied to the headboard. When I lift the canopy off, I just unplug the camera, super easy. From memory I used the extension cable for that exact reason too. The bonus is when the camera is unplugged, the unit works perfectly as a mirror, no need to change anything at all. Cheers Richo

I tried the gator for a week on my 2015 Troopy. The vibrations did my head in!! Going for a solid mount unit instead.

Gators are rubbish. They generally last 2 years tops. The Wolfbox 4K is one of the best!
