Could have turned the wheel and the shaft at the hub will come out. No need to take strut or tie rod off. Just make sure to jack the car up while leaving the A-arms falling down. No need to realign if you don't unbolt the strut.👍
Nice vid..helped me alot! Even when doing it on the ground,it was way easier. Biggest struggle was getting shock absorber back to knuckle. Otherwise..easy as pie. Cheeers from Latvia!

Anyone else ever have a problem with the carrier bearing sliding along the intermediate shaft, causing the splines in the transaxle/angle gear assembly to disengage and lose all power to the wheels, or has it just been my bad luck twice on AutoZone half shafts? Car is a 2004 S60R with AW71 auto. The fix is to use 640 sleeve retainer or 271 hi strength thread locker on the shaft, and then repress the bearing (which doesn't seem to be too much of a press to move to place).
I'm trying to change out my drivers side. When I pulled on the axle it came apart and the last piece is stuck in the transmission. I can not get it to pop out even driving a wedge in. If I pull this passenger side will I be able to see the end of the driver side to bang it out from this side?

Great video! Does the bevel gear not lose fluid when pulling the old axle?
Torque your carrier bearing nuts to 70 then 90° turn more before replacing the belly pan!
2008 xc70. Will any transmission fluid be leaking out during this process?
Was it still connected to the lower control arm
i didn't see any retention rings or snap rings on there, is that the case? I actually have a 2010 but having a hard time finding this info
Great video! Is I presume this is an automatic? I don’t know if there are differences between auto and manuals
There is a difference. This is for the aisin automatic FWD version
Opportune time to reseal the angle gear!
so helpful, thank you so much
I need for Volvo S60R 2004 Manual Transmission M66 AWD CV JOINT AXLE FRONT RIGHT AMERICAN MARKET
SAME😭😂
That angle gear looks drenched in gear oil 😂
What if the torque on last bolt was higher than 35Nm?
Great video thank you!
