Hey Ethan. It's great that you and Mariano are good friends, and money doesn't come between your friendship. Nice session, buddy!!!! It looks like you're slowly getting back the $150k. You should be close. Congrats on running and playing great. Keep up the awesome work 👏

It was hard enough to read it but writing while riding in the car was even harder. Anyway I enjoyed the video very much. “I don’t want to scare away draws. I want to be able to bet turn then go all in river.” How does this make sense? If they are drawing, they’re either going to brick and not call a river bet, or make their flush/straight and you won’t be good. Have to make the draws pay before the river…

Hold Deja Vu! That AS-4S hand reminded me of a hand I had very recently in Lake Charles, where I had AS-JS, and the flop came out KS and two other spades. I checked to induce a bet, and an opponent did bet, and I was the only caller. Then a fourth spade came on the turn, and I bet a small value bet, but he still folded. I then showed that I had flopped the nuts anyway.

You're being results oriented here. Dave. If you're referring to the hand where he flopped top pair holding a 7 with 3 baby spades, what does he hope will call a raise that he beats? Doing so only bloats the pots while not knowing whether you're ahead or behind in the hand. As played, he should have folded on the river, or better yet, not have played the hand from the start.

It should be unspoken that you don't softplay friends. I often have friends at a table I'm playing at. I don't target them, but I also don't play any differently against them. It doesn't matter if you're friends, siblings, spouses, family, whatever...you should be playing the same against everyone at the table, and there should never be any hard feelings because of it. If someone gets butthurt when they get beat by their friend, maybe poker isn't the game for them 🤷‍♂

If I can give a little advice. Sometimes giving up is a good idea compared to tripling your losses in a hand (obvious, I know). But one thing that's less obvious and easy to forget is that being card dead is a normal part of poker and you shouldn't let it cause you to drive bad play or tune out and play with chips/phone. There is a third, better option: use the time to minutely analyze the play of others. You have the luxury of not being involved and can really pick up on your opponents when you eventually ARE involved.

@@BrianM216 well... when you're playing with talented opponents, they will believe that you missed(if you check a street)and perhaps try to push you off of your hand... the fear was the flush, by checking it looks as if you also fear the flush? And this would induce betting?
But, with "Rampage's" rep perhaps acting like you're buying the pot works also... I guess... just a difference in strategy not "stupid" advice! Thanx

Just because someone's drunk and playing a lot of hands, doesn't mean they're any less likely to flop a pair than you are. I don't ever expect you to start playing "fit or fold" all the time.
