PLO is the game I vlog about. If you were headsup with your hand on those two flops I like continuing
But multiway you have one pair middle kicker, backdoor spades and straights on the top board
The bottom board you have top and bottom pair plus a gutshot to a non-nut straight and a non-nut flush draw
Multiway these spots will cost you money in the long run. You will generally be beat by one opponent on one board and another on the other
That you went runner-runner nuts on the top doesn't change that multiway after the flop you should be folding, imo
Your hands are deceptively good, because you have potential on both boards. But in PLO if you don't have the nuts or aren't drawing to the nuts, someone else is
the fact it was a bomb pot changes the dynamic completely
@@VVeZoX can you be more specific? The dynamic that is changed, imo, is that you're guaranteed to be facing a table full of random hands, rather than a narrowed field if played normally.
hold em players are especially prone to overvaluing hands that in Hold Em are great, but in PLO are huge money burners (top and bottom pair, non-nut flush draws, idiot end of the straight, bottom set, underfulls, etc)
Bomb pots can be even more dangerous because when you do flop a piece of both boards it's easy to convince yourself "well, if I'm not good on the top board at least I should be ok on the bottom board, that guy can't have both boards!"
But you aren't just facing "that guy" here, you're facing an entire table of players, so you'll make 2nd or 3rd best on both boards a lot of the times (in the hand example Ethan was playing, not factoring in his luckiness to runner-runner the spades) and you'll get scooped for your stack if you don't exercise caution.

2/5 Max buyin game of $2,500 and a lady who was a whale had 7k as did the best pro in the room
She flops bottom set and a gutshot, gets stacks in against the pro who has top set
Then she had 99xx on an 8-high board where I flopped a wrap. She doubled me up with just the overpair and thought I was gambling with my super wrap

I like the shove with AK for relatively short effective stacks. Paying off Mariano was a punt, but you knew that.
I'm not sure you're supposed to see the river in the PLO pot - you were drawing on one board and unlikely good on the other. Bit you threaded the needle, binked perfect on both boards, and no doubt got folds from a better hand on the bottom board.

Good video. I’m a fan of under playing AK a lot more in cash games. Good hand to play after seeing a flop. I prob would of bet 4K on the bomb pot and had to split so that pot sized bet was clutch

10:30 Wow, an amazingly bad call by HJ! To make a call here he'd have to have the nuts on one of the boards so id' expect to see like 44 or A4 from him for sure. Calling with just the second nut flush on top and basically nothing on bottom is terrible when it's so obvious you Rampage must be strong in such a multiway massive pots.

Can someone help me understand why AK Preflop should always be all in when the action puts you in that position? I understand the logic behind it and have been put in a multi-way pot where I folded AK and the board had 3 kings where I could have scooped a total pot of $2500.

Having the nuts on one board in double board bomb pot is so awesome. You can just go nuts knowing at worst your chopping
But the last thing you want to do with the nuts on one board and light holdings on the other is pot into 3 others. You want at least 2 players calling a bet so when you do chop (most of the time in this situation) you will be chopping up at least 1 persons chips. $$$

Would you ever bet 340 with a Q or better on Q86cc? My guess is no. Probably would do around 450in that case.

In the bomb pot you could be putting there due to how hard you smashed both boards. And can also continue on the turn with potting over the bet. You had more equity than anyone else had especially the bottom board. Shouldnt be many fours there after the flop

I spent a while thinking on the set of 10s hand before I saw what Mariano had, when I saw his hand I was so confused 🤣 I guess that’s why I’m not a very good player! The action between the 2 of you is really interesting there’s tons of history which must have a massive influence.
