    Hello, I am a teacher and I have a j1 visa, I want to bring my husband and 2 children, my question is: what type of questions will they ask my husband during the interview? He was denied once, and not because of anything bad, but because he had bad luck with a consul and he didn't have much time at his job at that time, so I'm worried that this could affect him.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They will ask if he understands the 2-year home residency requirement (212-e). They will confirm his relationship to you. They will ask about the contents of the DS2019 so it's very important that he is very familiar with it... where you will work, what you (j1) will do there, etc. Other things too but these the important ones. My husband was asked if he was going to miss his work. etc The J1 visa is the most important, rarely do J2 visas get rejected.

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can apply for a waiver. Your employer cannot do anything about it if you do not have a waiver of the 2-year home residency requirement of a j1 visa. Once a waiver is granted to you, and granting your employer is a visa sponsor too or they will help you find a visa sponsor, then you can apply for a new working visa and will not have to go home. As long as the J2 visa is valid. This means that they can fly to the US at any time. The validity of J2 visa is the same as that of the J1 visa. The only restrictions are: 1) they can't fly to the US ahead of the J1 visa holder and 2) they can't be too early - must be at least within 30 days upon receiving the j2 visa approval.

      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, of course you can take your child with you as your J2. If you are married, they will ask for the father's consent. In the Philippines, some documentations should be completed with the Department of Social welfare and Development (DSWD). You should make inquiries about where to obtain and do he paper work in your country. I have friends who took their kids to the US with them. They do not discriminate against single mom. The only issue is proving that the underage child is yours (Birth Certificate should prove it), and that the child has the consent of the other parent (if present).

    does j2 visa is exempt from asrs tax?

    • @Teachingandmore
      @Teachingandmore  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not know what asrs tax is. But J2 is not tax-exempt. The tax exemption only applies to J1 visa holders for the 1st 2 years.

    Hi ma’am my expiration po ba ung j2 ds2019? After po nila marcv ung visa, kalaingan po bang umalis na sila agad? Or there’s certain time span for them to go the us?

      @@shernieswannielavalle2952 ang validity po ng DS2019 at Visa ng J2 ay kagaya rin ng sa J1. So, yes po nag eexpire pero matagal pa after 3 years pa po ang expiration ng ds2019 at ng j1/j2 visa. Hanggat valid po ang visa at ds 2019 nila ay pwede po sila mag enter sa US. Ito po ang sabi sa website, "Most family members choose to arrive together, but J-2 holders may apply for a visa and/or travel to the U.S. separately as long as they have a valid DS-2019 and J-2 Visa. However, J-2 Visa holders may not arrive in the U.S. before the J-1 Visa holder."
