I own the rocket 3 gt. I rode both before making my decision. In the end. I felt if i was gonna get a power cruiser, i felt the gt set up was more in line with that look and feel. It did take a minute to get used to foot forward pegs. Now i love it. And the extra add ons for the gt i would have ended up putting on the R. So. The gt has been a magnificent riding and looking bike. And its my only bike. Does it all.
I own a 2023 Rocket GT and I prefer the bars over the R; for the pegs I moved them back to the middle spot and really enjoy the foot position. Thanks for the video.
Travelling WAY too close to vehicles in front ( Ruby )... sat on their bumper... gonna come a cropper eventually. Bikes look mega though, always forget about these then when I see em again think ahhhhhh nice
I have the same bike and yes when going fast my feets too tend to lift off the pegs but im 6ft tall 200 lbs i like the forward control for me its more comfortable but it just me not everybody have the same frame , for me if i have only one word to discribed the Rocket its TORQUE what a blast to ride this beast so fun. Beteween the R or GT its the GT so fun so fast i was changing style of motorcycles every 4 years going from sport bike to cruider and so on but with the Rocket you get both its a cruiser slash muscle bike and power hp like a sport bike best of both world. Good season to you girl and ride safe.
Yes fully agree that with the forward pegs, your feet can be prone to losing contact with the peg under extreme acceleration unless you are careful to apply some pressure to both feet.
There are 3 positions for the forward pegs on the GT. Move them back to the rearmost position and your feet will no longer be blown off the pegs. No need for the mid position Triumph factory relocation kit.
I just bought the GT after owning a Rocket 3 Touring for 10 years. I love the GT position and the forward pegs just fit me better with my legs stretched out. It would be much easier to buy the GT and switch the pegs and controls to the mid position rather than changing the bars out on the R. I enjoy your videos as they reflect the spirit and feeling you get riding the bike. I'm 77 and I love riding my GT...especially the torque. I'm gonna add the quickshifter this summer. The Rocket just does everything so well...what's not to like. You can seemy grin 😁😁😁😁 every time I ride it.
Hi Kate, I have the same bike. Gt. Just a few tips, turn mirrors so thin end is in. Better for filtering. Put the R pegs on because you get more comfortable ride and you can use peg as a step to get on. Get the quick shifter. Love your video. Good to see all the pritty things together ❤️
That looked like a good trip on a couple of real beasts! Nice to see drivers generally behaving themselves; especially when you were up close to them on these giant machines! Not sure of your final destination in The Big Smoke; but the legendary Ace Cafe in NW London is a good stop with nice food if ever you are down again. 🙂
I liked very much the first version of the Rocket (2300) and I had the opportunity to test ride it. But this new version is part of my dreams since it was launched. I can only imagine the thrill of feeling that power and that humongous torque. Probably my next acquisition!
I've just bought a Rocket 3gt. Within 10 minutes of riding it I was more than comfortable with the riding position. I've only found if your at high speeds and you move your foot, you do feel the lift of the wind but it's manageable. I'm quite short 29inch leg and it's perfect for me with the swept bars.
I have a 2020 GT with mid pegs. Comfortable, enjoyable bike. Pain in the ass to work on though, since everything is stuffed up between the tank and the block.
Im 62 and would love a rocket 3. My nephew loves them too. You just got to relax and gel with the bike. Its all about feel but im a ex despatch rider who has never driven a car so our generation had bloody awful heavy bikes 100 bhp with crossply tyres, non existant brakes and tesco shopping trolly handling. Anything more modern has felt like its on rails in comparison and nowadays they have ABS, rider modes etc and its taken the danger out of motorcycling a lot. No tankslappers nowadays but that brutal torque, id luv it.
Got the GT, as for the foot position, thought I'd hate it, but I actually love it. Only had feet pushed off once so far, and that was at a silly speeed......like real silly speed.
Rockit3 nice yea wots more impressive Kate 👏 is the constant visor lift at nion, 50 mph gr8 vid as always and keep rockin 😁 oh and tell Ruby to chill a bit 😅✌️
I have a Rocket 3 GT in 221 colours and I love it. At first I wasn't sure about the forward pegs and sometimes had to feel around for them when setting off from standstill. But now they're full tank to empty tank all day comfy. The bike learns to carry you and is very responsive to slight inputs; I've found turning my heel slightly outwards on the peg in corners make steering smoother. The only thing I'd add is the bike needs a 'calm down ffs' button next to the heated grips. It Rubyises you within 20 minutes, no idea why but it truly does.
I have a 3R and prefer the mid pegs and longer reach, and prefer the roadster to the cruiser look as well. I did put the GT screen and sissy bar on mine though. Many riders convert the GT to mid pegs and keep the longer reach bars. Both pegs and bars have conversion kits available from Triumph for either position, you can even find the gearshift extension rods under the right side panel with the hex key "toolkit". Now, I've never had an experience where the wind moves my feet, even on forward pegged HD's in the past, but then I weigh probably two and a half Kate's so there's that... 🙂
Love your review of the Rocket, don't own one myself but awesome bikes. I have to say Kate that Ruby's riding is a little too aggressive at times, that move between the car and the barrier 😮 🤔. Please stay safe out there 👍
own the GT and love the bars position, ordered the mid mount. will revert back once fitted. The forward pegs have adjustment and can be moved back another 1” or 2. Im 5’9 and bringing them back 1” made a difference. going for service next week and will fit the mids. other than that I raised the preload on the rear by more than half of the adjustment. at high speed winds is pushing at my feet.
When I get a bit naughty with the throttle on my '22 Rocket GT, I gotta remember to point my toes so my feet don't become sails lol. It's a lovely problem to have in my opinion. Oh, and by the way, the foot controls have some adjustability to them, they can be backed up towards center, not as far back as the R, but I think it's nearly halfway back between the GT and R stock positions. Great vid, roll on!
So brave heading to London. And wow cool your on that bike. I would live this bike. Due to my ankle not working I don’t think I can. I’ve had the africa twin dct for last two years. Just about to change it for the Rebel. It’s a pity this bike doesn’t have a dct box… Superb looking bike. Wow massive power..
I've just bought a 2021 Rocket GT Triple Black and I absolutely love it. I sat on both but never test rode either, I chose the GT for the more relaxed riding position and better pillion comfort as my wife likes to ride pillion. I've heard about the wind getting under your feet but to be honest never noticed it even at a pace. I heard one reviewer say your knees get blown apart on the R, but perhaps that's with people who have longer legs. I found the bike surprisingly easy to turn and it doesn't half put a smile on your face.
As mentioned between 10:52 - 10:56 in the video.. it's the perfect solution. 3R with GT handle bars. I'm 5'6" tall with a 30 inseam & it worked well for me. Thank you for this lovely entertainer Kate & say hi to "Risky" Ruby
Sounds like what you need is a bike with a better sitting position, clearer display, in-screen turn-by-turn navigation, bars nearer to you, mid-footpegs, a lot less weight, better handling, the same (or better) acceleration, the same 240 big booty rear tyre and lots of sex appeal.
Really enjoyed the video - thanks. Am picking up a new GT in the morning so have been cramming in loads of watches! ....I've read through a lot of comments but not all so might have been mentioned already.... am I right in thinking the engine was running while Ruby was pumping fuel?!!?
I test road both but bought the GT because of the feel and look. I had the pegs moved to the rear of the forward position and so far enjoy the bike. Think I would like to try the GT with the midrange peg position just to see which is best.
My R fits me (5'9'', 32'' inseam) perfectly. I have ridden it for 10 hours with minimal pauses in comfort. The slight (10° to 15°) forward lean assists me against the wind, the (occasionally insane) acceleration and slouching. I tried a GT and found it less conducive to handling. I can see, however, how short riders may profit from the GT handlebar and very tall riders from its forward controls.
Thought Ruby’s riding was ok, a bit aggressive but making progress right up until overtaking the car in lane 3.. never seen that before, bet the driver jumped 😂. Agree with you Kate, the R with GT bars. Diamond cut wheels look great when new but need taking care of.
Forgive me...I'm not a troll...but got to say that some of the riding from your friend Ruby is bordering on aggressive...for her sake she needs to ease off...the one handed riding is fraught too...sorry...love your content...a long time follower...and usually refrain from comments such as this...🤷♂️
hello good morning Kate for those things I have my motorcycle with the handbrake I also brake from behind because of my leg I can't and change the handlebar for the same one arm I can't stretch it like the other I hope if you ever come to Valencia give me a touch best regards 😀😁
@@UsernameKate this happened before you were born. London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. When it was built in the 1830s, it spanned the River Thames in London, England. In 1968, the bridge was purchased from the City of London by Robert P. McCulloch. You two need to put on some water wings and start swimming.
The silver looks the best colour for me 😊 I'm going to buy a Rocket3 when they've been around long enough to have 50k+ on the clock and quartered in value. Tempted by a 15y old Goldwing for the same reason. Get well soon Kate 😊
I've got the GT but I'm 6'1 so prefer the feet forward position. Under spirited acceleration on the motorway I've felt my feet come up a little but generally I find it great.

Iv never liked that manufactuers are starting to put the indicators lower to the ground on the wheel. Thats really dangerous because car drivers are higher up so they may not see your rear indicators.
@@UsernameKate yea I have it on my Zontes 2022 as stock but I always change the mod and put the indicators higher up by tail tidy if I get the chance. My 125 has the same diamond cut wheels as that good looking beauty. They look so great.
Hi Kate oveusly I Love your videos there all awesome. I own a 2017 GSXS750 got it with just 3,000 miles on it with 1 owner 🥳 But there’s 6 bikes I’d love to take out for a couple hours. Without wanting to buy, how would I go about doing that? Any help is much appreciated 👍
The foot pegs on the Rocket R and GT are interchangeable so i have a Rocket 3 GT with R foot pegs. I've never owend a bike with forward controls so when i road tested the GT i loved it apart from the foot peg position, so when i bought one i opted for the GT with R pegs and it's the perfect setup for me. PS. Why on earth did you go to London ? what a hideous place.
I think the GT looks better than the R. There both big cruisers just with different vibes. The foot thing was something you also get on Harley cruisers at speed especially when a big semi goes past in the other lane.

This is an old recording. I crashed but on the mend :) Thanks for your concern! :)
@@UsernameKate aww no problem, get well soon 🤗
Cheers! 😊
Get well soon Kate looking forward to seeing you on two wheels soon wearing your leathers and swanky helmet and dark visor only one username Kate 😂
Swanky helmets gonna be retired to the wall I'm afraid! Have to find another one to continue the swankyness lol
@@UsernameKate another swanky helmet is needed another race one with dark visor nothing beats seeing you looking all swanky maybe a different colour dark visor looking forward to seeing it lovely x
After 22yrs on HD my experience is foot forward looks more comfy than it is
I agree!
What helmet model are you two wearing?
Can defo tell whos done rapid rider training
Iv never liked that manufactuers are starting to put the indicators lower to the ground on the wheel. Thats really dangerous because car drivers are higher up so they may not see your rear indicators.
I never really thought of that!
@@UsernameKate yea I have it on my Zontes 2022 as stock but I always change the mod and put the indicators higher up by tail tidy if I get the chance.
My 125 has the same diamond cut wheels as that good looking beauty. They look so great.
Looks like yea had a Great Ride, your friend is a Mad BUCKA All good.
🤟🤟🤟
Hi Kate oveusly I Love your videos there all awesome.
I own a 2017 GSXS750 got it with just 3,000 miles on it with 1 owner 🥳
But there’s 6 bikes I’d love to take out for a couple hours.
Without wanting to buy, how would I go about doing that?
Any help is much appreciated 👍
I guess calling on friends would be the only way. If they're new bikes, you could still demo them :)
How tall is Ruby?
Ruby is never hanging around )
Never! Ain't nobody got time fo dat 🤣
I ride the rocket 3R
❤
Interesting video but you review the rocket 3 like your thinking of buying one yourself?
I couldn't afford one 🤣
@@UsernameKate 😪
what tank mileage range did you get?
If I remember correctly, about 130 before the fuel light came on.
I had the 2.3l roadster and got about 180...so that is a big drop...and perhaps too much to make the bike useable in areas with fewer petrol stations
Come fly with me, eh?
Ruby should keep a bit more distance from other vehicles. Love the rear footpegs as well. The bar is however too sissy for me. 😀
Haha I had a launch 🤣 not somewhere I'd go on two wheels by choice!
To be fair most of my London driving experience has been in a 44 ton truck ( Nightmare ) so i guess 2 wheels is a lot easier 🤣
✌️😃👍
I think the GT looks better than the R. There both big cruisers just with different vibes. The foot thing was something you also get on Harley cruisers at speed especially when a big semi goes past in the other lane.
🤣🤣 the truck comment - so true!
well, if you've got the money, swap a set of R pegs onto the GT.
If I was going down that route I'd find the cheapest option, bar or peg swap and go down the cheapest route... such a northerner - tight as cramp
@@UsernameKate That would be the R with GT bars then :) , nowt wrong with us northerners being tight.
Put gt bars on R.
I felt the same watching you, that you wasn't into it.
Not quite the R! 😊
Feet forward…. Nah!
🤭
Not so keen on the videos you post with your other female bikers and much prefer the ones you do yourself, they’re far more informative.
I do 2 vlogs a week, it's gonna be mixed else my brain would explode 🤣🤣
