The story is sometimes boring and other times I'm crying my eyes out. The game overall is just amazing and I'm glad to have actually played it.
Started playing during the 1.1 update and have been playing since. The story is so much better in Hsr than in Genshin, the gacha is less painful (or maybe my account is just blessed), I love this game so much and I fell in love even harder after Penacony
I REGRET NOT COMMENTING ON THIS SOONER BUT HSR IS SO PEAK I HAVE STARTED PLAYING A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO AND HAVE SAVE UP 400 PULLS FOR FIREFLY SO FAR. MY ONLY GENUINE REGRET FOR THIS GAME IS THAT I DID NOT START A YEAR AGO TO HAVE EVEN MORE SPECIAL PASSES AND ZERO WARPED STELLAR JADES PROBABLY A 1000 PULLS SAVED BY NOW. Also you sir are super based this game with Shoji Meguro music playing during grinding/farming sessions is so peak. I was a blind hater for the longest time until I legit actually played the game. Being a low spender/F2P for this game and a jrpg enjoyer/masochist is just **Chef's kiss**
try Limbus Company, its something truly out of the ordinary and can be summed up as a review said "A gacha game made by a company who doesn't know what a gacha is, no wonder it's the best of its kind"
I am very much enjoying the game now, I started maybe a month ago. It is funny how I missed all of the signs for me to play it. I had friends who played it, I even found myself at an in person event they had in Berlin by accident, then I didn't even touch or think of the game. Suddenly last month I was struck by the absent thought that I should maybe play the game. There was no reasoning behind it. Now, as I type this, I have the game idling in the background. I never played gacha before, but I love JPRG games. I love this game!!
Honestly i love this game a lot,i stopped playing genshin a few months ago(too much of the gacha aspect and im not big on the gacha stuff)i didn't know about gacha games until i played genshin This game has a lot of heart and personality put into it and genshin just feels like a hollow shell Appreciate the dev support we've been getting, they actually listen to us This game just has everything i want, and it honestly doesn't feel like a gacha at all,i play for the story and character appearances and events, and once in a while I'll get a character if i really like them in the story Most of the hard content can be done with starter characters which is something i appreciate and so far my experience has been great,i hope it stays that way.
the cool thing about star rail is that while, yes, there is "powercreep", powercrept units are still very good and very usable. the meta changes so often that it kinda just....removes fomo and exclusivity as something to be stressed about for me. You can just pull for the units you like since you know they'll be powercrept anyway, and that as long as you invest enough farming time in them they'll still be good.
As someone who has never really played any gachas, other than briefly trying out summoners war, i LOVE honkai! its story driven with good grinding content or endgame and truly beautiful characters with INSANE cinematics and universe!!! The only thing I would enjoy more from this game is if they had some sort of co-op or friend dueling system where it was possible to play with a friend! i dont care too much about fully fledged pvp like RTA from summoners war but a "for fun" pvp mode or as i said just a dueling system would be really fun as id be able to play the game with friends, or even just a co-op pve system :) Overall loving the game tho! :D
I genuinely think star rail is one of the best turn based games you can play today. At first I used to avoid it like the plague because I thought the combat was too simplistic compared to persona and other popular turn based games. But after playing star rail for some time, I learned just how in depth it can be. Plus, it's super high-quality in terms of, animations, cut scenes, voice acting and level design. It's actually shocking
Used to play genshin then just wanted to try HSR and was planning to delete it since it could be the same as Genshin feeling like a chore as a f2p, but I was surprised for how good HSR compared to Genshin it's like realizing your ex was toxic.
Its the first and probably the only gacha game ill ever play since every time i think about playing a different gacha game i realize the hsr is just built different and i would probably hate it i also really like turn based games so its a nice bonus
The turn based design really helps the user experience, I want to progress but I don't always want to play the game every god damn day, so having the ability to just set it to auto battle and let it run with little input for like 10 minutes, then log off for the day, it's one of the reasons I just stopped playing genshin after enjoying it for about 2 or 3 months, just didn't enjoy logging in everyday and the need to micro manage how I spend energy to get better relics and level up. I mean even in that regard this games just better, you get so many free resources and characters don't take much to level up at all, it's such a streamlined gacha game where so many can feel like a daily chore, this one hardly feels that way at all. I've been playing since 1.0 and haven't stopped, and I've had zero interest in any other gacha games in that time and probably won't, this game just continues to improve and listen to it's players input, while having great story, great characters and enjoyable game mechanics with a variety of different content always releasing. It had issues on release but over time they've always strive to improve and take in feedback, something I can't say for the like of genshin which mechanically is a good game but is slow as hell on the uptake of player feedback, taking years to implement basic features which hsr has historically been able to implement in months if not weeks since the games release.
star rail surprised me a lot, I've never liked gatcha games, especially genshin since that's the one I gave a fair shot due to it's popularity when it released. But star rail, this game is special, since the day I decided to give it a fair shot I haven't missed a single day and I'm not joking, even if I don't feel like doing side quests or catching up with past events I still always login to at least do the daily 30 minute grind and there's no gatch that convinced me to do it, but star rail just respects the player so much while having very compeling gameplay I definitely regret not playing it day 1, I had my eye on it, but due to not liking genshin I never touched star rail until early this year close to the end of 2.0 and man am I glad I finally started to play this game because it is just fun
Probably late to the party, but I also want to add how low-effort the game is, and I find its designed to be much more suitable as a casual mobil game compared to game. During weekdays, I can just let it autoplay while I get ready, so I don’t get behind on the farm, and when it’s weekend or when there’s new content, then I can easily binge on the events/stories without pressure. 10/10 for anyone who with a busy schedule!
As someone who has been playing genshin since launch I don't really feel the need to pull every character every patch because I already have the "meta" ones, I usually go with the visually appealing and awesome kit design ones and since I also buy the welkin and battlepass and with all the farmable currencies I really haven't felt the primo crunch yet.... BUT I tried starting a new F2P account a while back and I had to go all the way to Inazuma to finally get a limited 5 star it was more then 100+ hrs of gameplay with boring ass Jean, compare that to HSR I started the game during Fu Xuan's banner and I got her while I was doing Belobog stuff and I saved up enough to even get Jingliu next patch toh I did win both the 50/50... SO yeah new player experience in Genshin is atrocious imo. The only saving grace in Genshin gacha wise is that they don't release as many characters each patch..!!!😓😓😓😓
F2P here, started playing two weeks ago and I'm at equilibrium lvl 3 and there so many stuff that gets unlocked like pure fiction and swarm I need help at what to prioritize, I don't know what to spend trailblaze power on.
I used to play Genshin and started HSR when it released. I didn’t play much in the beginning and just logged in for the rewards. The combat didn’t grab me at the beginning. I came back when Acheron came out and realised how much better (in my opinion) this game is than Genshin. The rewards are incredibly generous but that isn’t all that’s good. The game doesn’t FEEL greedy or ungrateful unlike Genshin. The combat is actually amazing because it makes you think instead of being a straight up DPS check and never gets boring. The character design is incredible and not to mention the story is AMAZING (especially Penacony like holy shit I’ve never been so invested). The dialogue options actually matter and are funny because the devs are up to date with Gen Z unlike in Genshin where all options are boring and trigger the same response or are literally the same sentence split in two (and I get that Genshin can’t exactly use the same humour because of the setting but they can TRY). And the fact that HSR, a game that has been out for a little more than a year, is about to have four different endgame modes while Genshin is just getting its second while simultaneously nerfing the amount of rewards we get from Abyss (yes they increased it to 800 I believe, but it will reset every month instead of every two weeks so in reality it’s way less rewards) is genuinely baffling. For me this is the better game and I didn’t even mention everything.
It's a top notch as ever Honkai story, without the pain of the HI3 higher pity limit no Guarentee after losing 50/50 gacha system. If I am wrong here feel free to correct my dumb behind, going on third party info, I devour the lore but haven't played HI3. ~60 rolls just for completing the content and dailies in each patch. There are better gatchas for you out there if you aren't into JRPGS and want more skill based mechanics. Not to say HSR needs no skill, just that skill alone can't carry you you need to build a strong roster as well. Not a bad thing just saying it's not genshin where you really can beat the game with starting lineup if you want too. This has to be in the top 3 most F2P friendly gachas of all time. I'm a battlepass spender myself and have managed all but 4 five stars, and a helluva lot of weapons in between.
I have been playing Honkai: Star Rail since release, I was so excited i even predownloaded the game a few days beforehand. and let me tell ya genshin players. In genshin there's 50/50 but in star rail there's actually 55% chance of getting the featured character and 75% FOR FEATURED LIGHTCONES (weapon in genshin terms) and the ridiculous amount of free pulls you get is beyond what genshin is comfortable giving away. It's so much better y'all need to try
well, Honkai is like their child (Honkai Impact 3rd) and yes, the game looks really good, sounds good I just wish that the turn-based combat was a bit more complex because only having 2 abilities and 1 attack and no way to reduce/dodge damage with all characters (reducing damage is limited to DEF and chars that give Shields, DR, Heals and Break the enemy frequently) gets pretty monotonous over time
I'm honestly fine with it, I've played other turn based games and while yeah it could be done better, it's not like this bores me, I find the fun to be in the team building and the matching to different enemy types, a new character can always do something slightly different or niche, and as they continue to add new enemies and bosses, it's always fun for me to mix and match team set ups to see how they interact with those new enemies, and with MoC the fun of finding out how to save cycles is enjoyable to me. It would be cool if it had more complexity in some aspects, but simultaneously it does have complexity in how those buttons end up being expressed. For example, yeah you can only press 3 buttons, but timing is important for when you need to press them, such as when to use huo huo ult, maybe it's better to save it if you are about to get another ult and use it after to get more energy back. Or the existence of follow up attack characters like Clara who attack when hit rather than with a button, and topaz who gets hits when other characters do follow up attacks. I think you under estimate the depth of combat a little bit, yeah there's technically only 3 buttons but the actual mechanics in the game go beyond that, and your team comp will vary greatly depending on a variety of other factors. Sure it's not the most complex game ever and a timed bonus mechanic might be cool (like how in sea of star you can time a parry or double hit for extra damage or damage reduction) that way there was a bit more skill expression and player agency involved, but overall I think it's okay and doesn't hold the game back enough to be a major problem, just a minor gripe made up for by its continued introduction of new mechanics seperate from specific buttons presses, but rather related to specific enemies or a certain characters individual kit.
A game that respects your time and rewards you generously? 😱 SHOCKING Some businesses are going bankrupt wondering why they can't reach that kind of success while insulting their potential customers. Or pushing stupid politics as if we care.
I've been playing the game day 1 because I've been familiar with Hoyoverse thanks to Genshin and Honkai Impact and honestly it's my least favorite of the three, i have nothing against turn-based but this is not a good turn-based system, the relics are cancerous to get, important equipment (planar and rope) are locked behind a boring roguelite game mode, unlike Genshin Impact there's no off-piece in the relics, story and character story quests are good enough to only play them but i didn't find the world quests or limited time events that good, only one i enjoyed is the HuoHuo one, my questlog is filled.
Seems like it's really just not for you, I can't stand farming relics in genshin personally and would much rather do it in this game, off set pieces are nice but this game has an entire extra relic slot aswell, with an extra set bonus too, which I much prefer as it gives me a whole extra piece worth of substats, with set bonuses usually being less important than substats and main stats anyway, you can really farm any set you want and just prioritise it's stats, the set bonuses really aren't mandatory, but overall relic farming isn't good in any of these games to my knowledge, for me hsr is the lwesser evil for sure though and not enough to make me dislike the game at all really compared to the alternative. Also the turn based combat while simple is not bad, it still has good game feel and the enjoyment of comp building and tailoring your team to specific match ups is still enjoyable. I agree it's simplistic but I don't think that makes it boring or bad, and it's often made up for in other mechanics related to a specific enemy, or a characters kit such as follow up attack characters or Dot characters for example. Personally love the game but I see where you're coming from, if you don't like it for the reasons I do like it I can't fault the game or you for that, just how the dice rolls I guess.
@@EyesDontCry i see your points but i still don't like how Planars and Ropes are locked behind Simulated Universe, also it's really hard to level up relics because of the lack of ways to get relics materials, i read that it's recommended to level up your relics only to level 12 instead of 15, meanwhile in Genshin you can level up all five artifacts to level 20 and still have plenty of materials to level up more, atleast in my experience.
@@Hunter-im3tg I had the opposite experience, I was struggling to level relics in genshin while farming everyday, in this game you get relic level material for MoC and from events, you never get that in genshin from what I remember, you just need to recycle your useless relics into materials aswell. I'm just very selective in my gear and recycle whatever I don't want and most of my relics are fine, I can clear all the content so now I'm just aiming to do MoC in less cycles, getting better gear where I can.
Its okay if this is not your cup of tea, i got the same kind of experience here but just a reversed one, im hooked on hsr cuz well its not time spending, i can just do dailies, randomly obtained good relics and not doing a walk over here and there manually picking things up like in GI, or well in my case also in Warframe where you have to do extraction for a whole mission, or well kuva farming.. Its just that people tend to forget that they can enjoy things without trampling what other people enjoy, i hope you dont encounter these kind of thing tho
Minus the Gambling Aspect, the Gacha games are currently the most fun and soulful games on the market. Mainly because the Western Game Devs are infected with the Woke and are outsourcing their games to India, so they are worse and uglier than the games released 12 years ago.
I like the game too, but for all it's whimsicality and open ended potential the story has been mostly convoluted, poorly thought out dog ass in my opinion. Frankly its super hard to have so many characters be implicated and the no romance constraint is compromising, but overall they've done a horrible job and it's yet again (like in genshin) such a shame especially when they then make you sit though upwards of 30 hours of cutscenes, and we're only at the 4th world so far.
As someone who played all three there all good. I prefer the tone of Genshin and all the story but Wuthering waves is engaging and I love the combat and echo systems but still got to say Star rail is best in my opinion because of vibe, charecters, Dev team and personal taste.

Started playing during the 1.1 update and have been playing since. The story is so much better in Hsr than in Genshin, the gacha is less painful (or maybe my account is just blessed), I love this game so much and I fell in love even harder after Penacony
Star Rail is the truly the best gacha of all time as genshin and wuwa player
Looking forward to more videos whenever you make em, man!!
I wasn't into neither turn based games or gachas, yet, this might be the best game i've played in years
Insanely good.
Tell me about you’re obsessed with March 7 without telling me: 0:50
Have you watched the live concert they put out? The devs love their game and their fans
try Limbus Company, its something truly out of the ordinary and can be summed up as a review said
"A gacha game made by a company who doesn't know what a gacha is, no wonder it's the best of its kind"
I HEAVILY second this
Do you need to play lobotomy corp first or can you just go into it?
@@StraytheSkies you can just go into it
@@StraytheSkies you don't have to play the first two games. I didn't and I still enjoy limbus company story
After farming EVERY event in the game, I did 70 pulls and I was able to get Boothil
Peak video, subscribed
I am very much enjoying the game now, I started maybe a month ago. It is funny how I missed all of the signs for me to play it. I had friends who played it, I even found myself at an in person event they had in Berlin by accident, then I didn't even touch or think of the game. Suddenly last month I was struck by the absent thought that I should maybe play the game. There was no reasoning behind it. Now, as I type this, I have the game idling in the background. I never played gacha before, but I love JPRG games. I love this game!!
Honestly i love this game a lot,i stopped playing genshin a few months ago(too much of the gacha aspect and im not big on the gacha stuff)i didn't know about gacha games until i played genshin
This game has a lot of heart and personality put into it and genshin just feels like a hollow shell
Appreciate the dev support we've been getting, they actually listen to us
This game just has everything i want, and it honestly doesn't feel like a gacha at all,i play for the story and character appearances and events, and once in a while I'll get a character if i really like them in the story
Most of the hard content can be done with starter characters which is something i appreciate and so far my experience has been great,i hope it stays that way.
Nocturne AND Awakening ost's in one video? I think you're the right guy to subscribe to.
Nice video!
Love your video dude if you're making more hsr content I'll be there
BASED and Kafka-pilled 🤤
the cool thing about star rail is that while, yes, there is "powercreep", powercrept units are still very good and very usable.
the meta changes so often that it kinda just....removes fomo and exclusivity as something to be stressed about for me.
The only thing I would enjoy more from this game is if they had some sort of co-op or friend dueling system where it was possible to play with a friend! i dont care too much about fully fledged pvp like RTA from summoners war but a "for fun" pvp mode or as i said just a dueling system would be really fun as id be able to play the game with friends, or even just a co-op pve system :)
Overall loving the game tho!
Bro wasn't ready for the new march form
Guys, I have a feeling Honkai: Star Rail is actually pretty good
We love gambling
I remember by the end of 1.0 I had like three 5 star characters and one weapon and I was so confused cause how, Genshin would never
This quality and only 99 subs? Yeah im your 100th sub now
Used to play genshin then just wanted to try HSR and was planning to delete it since it could be the same as Genshin feeling like a chore as a f2p, but I was surprised for how good HSR compared to Genshin it's like realizing your ex was toxic.
Am i seeing this wrong, WHY DO YOU HAVE SO LITTLE SUBS!!!
I agree!
kid named limbus company:
kid named punishing gray raven:
not saying that hsr is worse, but those 2 games a pretty good gachas as well
Don't forget Reverse 1999
why is this so underrated😭😭😭
Firefly wanters will be Firefly havers!
Bro turned his essay into a video
glad to see random people appreciating star rail for the goofy masterpiece it is
I like the story and character design in this game. I have trouble going back to Genshin.
I’m not a fan of turn-based games but I’ve been playing HSR since release just because the story is so impeccable.
star rail surprised me a lot, I've never liked gatcha games, especially genshin since that's the one I gave a fair shot due to it's popularity when it released. But star rail, this game is special, since the day I decided to give it a fair shot I haven't missed a single day and I'm not joking, even if I don't feel like doing side quests or catching up with past events I still always login to at least do the daily 30 minute grind and there's no gatch that convinced me to do it, but star rail just respects the player so much while having very compeling gameplay
I definitely regret not playing it day 1, I had my eye on it, but due to not liking genshin I never touched star rail until early this year close to the end of 2.0 and man am I glad I finally started to play this game because it is just fun
What is the name of the site on 4:13 ?
Probably late to the party, but I also want to add how low-effort the game is, and I find its designed to be much more suitable as a casual mobil game compared to game. During weekdays, I can just let it autoplay while I get ready, so I don’t get behind on the farm, and when it’s weekend or when there’s new content, then I can easily binge on the events/stories without pressure. 10/10 for anyone who with a busy schedule!
If you like hsr tbh you would probs like Limbus as well
As someone who has been playing genshin since launch I don't really feel the need to pull every character every patch because I already have the "meta" ones, I usually go with the visually appealing and awesome kit design ones and since I also buy the welkin and battlepass and with all the farmable currencies I really haven't felt the primo crunch yet....
Honkai = Bonnod, Star Rail = 4, pretty good = cool af and hung fr
Now put that into the title of the video and read it again
🤣🤣🤣
Former active FGO player.
Enjoyed the HSR , for me, this game exceed fgo in many ways specially both of them is turnbased game.
F2P here, started playing two weeks ago and I'm at equilibrium lvl 3 and there so many stuff that gets unlocked like pure fiction and swarm I need help at what to prioritize, I don't know what to spend trailblaze power on.
i wouldnt say its the best gacha cuz that is limbus but it deserves second place
People who pulled for Kafka getting mocked bc she was pure fan service and useless but a Huohuo, Ruan Mei and Black Swan later who’s laughing now
The best and most fair gacha is Granblue Fantasy.
1:59 😨
I have been playing Honkai: Star Rail since release, I was so excited i even predownloaded the game a few days beforehand. and let me tell ya genshin players. In genshin there's 50/50 but in star rail there's actually 55% chance of getting the featured character and 75% FOR FEATURED LIGHTCONES (weapon in genshin terms) and the ridiculous amount of free pulls you get is beyond what genshin is comfortable giving away. It's so much better y'all need to try
Also it not 50/50 for characters, its 54/46, so getting characters is easier, and weapons is 75/25
I hate gatcha games but this game made me play a gatcha game again.
IKEA
In my opinion there is nothing for free. You pay with your lifetime
Limbus
Imo its not pretty good, its just good period
well, Honkai is like their child (Honkai Impact 3rd) and yes, the game looks really good, sounds good I just wish that the turn-based combat was a bit more complex because only having 2 abilities and 1 attack and no way to reduce/dodge damage with all characters (reducing damage is limited to DEF and chars that give Shields, DR, Heals and Break the enemy frequently) gets pretty monotonous over time
I'm honestly fine with it, I've played other turn based games and while yeah it could be done better, it's not like this bores me, I find the fun to be in the team building and the matching to different enemy types, a new character can always do something slightly different or niche, and as they continue to add new enemies and bosses, it's always fun for me to mix and match team set ups to see how they interact with those new enemies, and with MoC the fun of finding out how to save cycles is enjoyable to me.
😭😭😭 this vid veiw ratio with ur other vids..
Man... im sure it is good but honestly
Limbus company broke gatchas for me its insane
I'll keep playing honkai impact. Turn based games are meh while genshin feels like a chore
A game that respects your time and rewards you generously? 😱 SHOCKING
Some businesses are going bankrupt wondering why they can't reach that kind of success while insulting their potential customers. Or pushing stupid politics as if we care.
not the best gacha but a good one
It's not the best, but it's alright 😂😂😂
Minus the Gambling Aspect, the Gacha games are currently the most fun and soulful games on the market. Mainly because the Western Game Devs are infected with the Woke and are outsourcing their games to India, so they are worse and uglier than the games released 12 years ago.
I like the game too, but for all it's whimsicality and open ended potential the story has been mostly convoluted, poorly thought out dog ass in my opinion. Frankly its super hard to have so many characters be implicated and the no romance constraint is compromising, but overall they've done a horrible job and it's yet again (like in genshin) such a shame especially when they then make you sit though upwards of 30 hours of cutscenes, and we're only at the 4th world so far.
genshin better
Wuthering waves better, just compare the open world games with each other, don’t bring the turn based here
@@minhtranquoc01valid
As someone who played all three there all good. I prefer the tone of Genshin and all the story but Wuthering waves is engaging and I love the combat and echo systems but still got to say Star rail is best in my opinion because of vibe, charecters, Dev team and personal taste.
