how dare you pull characters you like in this game about pulling characters? how entitled of you to expect to pull characters you like and clear content! pull [insert two teams] and then in six months [insert two teams] and stop complaining. /s and then people say it's only 60 jades (completely forgetting that companies are preying upon you psychologically). powercreep will never be the consumer's fault...
Well tbh not to defend them or anything but many people don't understand or better said can't make the difference between meta pulls and casual pulls. Ofc you can pull who you want but expect some characters to resist less to powercreep compared to others. End game isn't made to be entirely cleared by everyone. Hoyo will always put the company interest first cuz the people they care about are the whales not the f2p or low spenders unfortunately.
@@KirigayaHayato there's no way to truly know which pulls will resist powercreep though. in 1.0, people called silver wolf future proof and talked about how mono quantum would be able to brute force all content. now people are saying fei xiao (released a few months ago) will fall off because the game is starting to favour aoe content. i have vertically invested in my faves a lot because the day i can't full clear with jing yuan i'm out, but none of this meta advice is airtight. if you run around chasing after each trend, you're more likely to "ruin" your account than investing heavily in supports for a character you genuinely like. there's no correct way to pull. if you pulled blackswan at the beginning of 2.0, thinking dot would be getting love, for example, you were in for a rude awakening... when back then, everyone said she was a great pull
I'm F2P and I can do the endgame. Most of the complaining is from f2p or really low spenders. As someone said in a comment before we are the less important for them because we are not giving them money. That's simple and I'm fine with it. My complaint is not about the HP Inflation, that's normal and understandable in a gacha game, but the lack of new mechanics (literally the same Svarog with 700k more HP) is the true problem. The game is already feeling repetitive and just HP inflation made it worst.
Months ago when Acheron came out we were all on the same page, we were all agreeing that the powercreep was getting crazy. What happened that now everyone seems to have forgotten how the game was pre Acheron?
@@nobody-xh6iiRuan Mei was overtuned but quite honestly she didn't "break" the game, she was very easily replaceable by niche specific supports ( hell even JL back then still preferred Pela over her for def shred ) as evident by Sparkle who came right after replacing her in hypercarry. Also E2 is a whole ass 2 eidolons, I'd expect characters with eidolons to be good and they're not a metric of balance by Hoyo ( or so they say anyways ) Its Acheron onward is when powercreep was completely out of control, it basically turned into a arms race of every character one upping the last sometimes outdoing them in their main niche as a side bonus ( Robin to Sparkle )
Because people only see pattern. Acheron was the start of that pattern, so people arent complaining at the possibility of hoyo maybe tuning it back down after Acheron’s banner, but that was never the case. People also justified at the fact of her being an Emanator. The complaining got worse over the fact that Feixiao and her FART team, which is the literal best team in the game, fall off exponentially within a SINGLE patch, so now that’s the third variable within the hypothesis, and thus an evidence to powercreep and the physical evidence to hoyo’s greed. Now, people are angry about it, out of fear of things going out of hand, because just like in Feixiao’s and Acheron’s and Jingliu’s case, they DONT WANT their newly pulled 5 star DPS to immediately get powercrept within a single patch, just because hoyo wanted people to consistently pull every patch. That’s why people are going out about it, because they’re trying to get their voices heard and potentially tune down powercreeping. Again, look into the detail of it, and why human behaved such a way, rather than asking such a stupid ass question to make yourself look smart. By the way, nice copy pasted comment, but try again, this time with your own input, maybe while typing it down you’ll realize how stupid you sound.
Yeah, I really appreciate how minimal Genshin’s powercreep is, and even when it is there it isn’t nearly as impactful as in HSR. 1.X characters still go hard even four years later.
@@randombread1456 Diluc lowkey got the biggest power up from just two units. He used to be pretty bad due to being outdated, but now plunge Diluc is just as good as a recent DPS. Yes, Natlan characters are busted, but they're still not enough to powercreep older units. The game is very versatile when it comes to playstyles and units. You can turn any character you want into a plunge attacker, you can build a DPS healer like Barbara, you can build a healer DPS like Wanderer. You can literally play a 4 star DPS and they're still hella good. I don't have the shiniest new units or universal supports like Furina, yet I still clear most of the endgame content with my less than meta characters and unfinished 4 stars (underleveled, mediocre artifacts, not perfect weapons, etc.). Heck, I have Neuvillette and I would still choose to play Kinich, Wanderer, Xiao, Cyno, Gaming, etc. Because I like them, and because they're still strong if you put some time into building them. I can actually just enjoy characters without fearing that I won't have the perfect team for them. A team is a team, and a lot of them work for their own reasons. The units are actually useful and most of them are quite universal, 4 stars and 5 stars alike
@@halalola432 plunge Diluc (with Xianyun and Furina) is absolutely an upgrade from his base gameplay. He may not be great, but he's pretty good in that team. Point is, standard characters in HSR don't perform very well, and even limited characters like Jingliu and Blade. The only old unit that got uplifted was Jing Yuan, the rest are left in the dust (even some more recent units already became outdated and outperformed). In Genshin many old units are still very practical and useful, and absolutely CAN clear endgame content
Sunday powercreeping sparkle = people complain (as rightfully so). The Herta powercreeping jingliu (and prob other dps as well) = people celebrating. The hypocrisy from this community is unreal.
i still believe that blade and jingliu have potential with the new hp manipulation meta coming, but instead of the rumours of blade + castorice and mydei + jingliu being good along with mydei + castorice, both the new characters are just...pure dpses. mydei is basically just blade, but better. im not saying they need to make blade and jingliu as good as mydei and castorice, but at least let them be viable with those two. MAYBE jingliu can be decent with mydei, but blade? he just got completely powercrept. castorice can't save him because she's a solo dps reliant on supports (while mydei's likely a more flexible dps more reliant on sustains, which is why jingliu's hp manipulation would work with him, but it's probably too low to be significant) i really really really hope they make changes to their kits. don't just replace old characters, make characters that can make them better (sunday for jing yuan), even if they're not going to be the best (aglaea being better.) they've done it before, so recently. they can do it again, why not?
Difference is Sparkle was still a strong unit that people were still using comfortably at the time Sunday came out and he replaced her on most teams. Jingliu is already struggling to do content at this point because of the enemy powercreep, causing many people to stop using her well before The Herta showed up.
People are happy about The Herta because they like her, i’m also happy she’s strong (also will never forgive them for making my girl sparkle useless like this, she is literally only a side grade for all teams except Dhil). They need to start making ways to make new characters unique instead of just stronger, you pull one character and the next one is judt better snd it’s sad
Whats hilarious (in a sad way) to me is that they are so quick to nerf story mode as soon as a single person complains about difficulty, yet they have almost the entire player base complaining about the endgame modes and they just keep doubling down patch after patch. There is not even consistency in their decisions.
@@xenoemblem7 They do it to make whales feel better or bc they don't know how to story tell either way its ass and its true, some parts of the story were harder than MOC on the older versions, anyways funny

People praise HSR for its "generosity" as opposed to Genshin but people should do the math. If anything, HSR is arguably Hoyo's most aggressive approach on taking your money. Genshin has like 50 5* right now, and HSR is only behind like 10 to 9 5* from that, one has been here for 4+ year the other not even 2 years in. And that's on top of the disgusting powercreep they are implementing. The premium currency ratio to limited units is literally insane compared to GI.
If you want to stop "powercreep" then you might as well hope that they not release new characters. Because what people call as "powercreep" is literally just "newest character obviously better than the one from 6-12 months ago". Because they need to sell the characters, so obviously they will release better and better character.
@@tovarishchfeixiao just because it's powercreept doesn't mean they have like 2 time better than old dps .. just compare a seele and boothill, feixiao.. with the same investment seele feels shit .. compare to boothill, feixiao as a unit .. seele multiplier Soo low .. even with high investment seele on all e0s1 it can't compete with these unit .. only after you invest in support eidolon now they able to compete with each other .. but the fact that you need eidolon to just compete with new unit is just crazy ...
MrPokke is out of touch since he always gets characters paid by viewers or himself, he has no perspective on what the average player gets in the game, even with some minimal spending. The Herta does huge numbers, but when you realise that those big numbers will quickly become unimpressive or just a standard, its super disappointing. Even if it will happen eventually, like slow the hell down HSR devs, the rampup is obscene
Not even that they are unimpressive or standard when against single target bosses, which will probably happen later again, so she will also be powercreep'd just bc of rotations, I mean she is Broken yeah but I don't like her gameplay loop/style
@@tdof7217 it's just like Onmyoji. The game was hella fun where R units could perform as good as SSRs if you utilized them correctly, or even better. However, powercreep issue started to grow bigger, to the point that every new released unit is the new meta, if you don't have them in that patch, you're doomed in both PvE & PvP. Thus, it forced players to chase the meta by draining their wallets dried. HSR in this case, is slow getting there. I just hope devs would rethink their decision and re-organizing the game tempo.
It got to the point where there are new character release I am not even hyped anymore rather dreading the powercreep, and I used to hype about characters and get excited about their kits back then in HSR and I still do in other gacha games. It's also due to lazy game design where newer characters not only powercreep the damage but also the kits that trying to fix old characters flaws by ignoring an already simple game mechanics, just a copy of old characters but better. That is such a huge middle finger for players who pulled the older characters bc there are no other choice and think that is the best. Contents easily solved by pulling them just like that while simultaneously crippling your old teams, like this is just straight up disrespectful and manipulative, lazy business practice, no excuses.
And yet somehow other people defend that older characters shouldn’t be buffed due to them apparently being afraid of cn complaints. I’m sure even they would be glad if some of their older units got buffed even a little more. Maybe not to the point where they power-creep someone like Acheron or other strong dps but at least enough to make them be able to hold their own on the content ,and at this rate we are at older characters will be unusable
@@shutup1037 it’s truly stupid. Now I ain’t saying you can’t have a character further buff someone. But eventually the old characters numbers will just fall off. It isn’t healthy for the game. And the developers most likely won’t be buffing anyone which if people still like older characters might just make them leave
I (low spender) got so tired of powercreep the moment Archeron had her first run (back then many people still insisted that there wasn't any powercreep lol). So, I stopped pulling for chars that you "need" and only wait for chars I genuinely want. This way I am not forced to squeeze every jade out of end conent and in return I don't need the meta chars. I now concentrate on building all the old chars I've got (their traces, LCs etc), and thanks to that I've realised that this is what I currently enjoy the most in HSR. Once I'm done with the base stuff I will start to farm for better relics. All of that takes a lot of time. Enough time to save jades for the next character and sometimes even their LC. It takes away a lot of the pressure and made the game more fun again, because I do what I like and still see progress. Can highly recommend.
@@SeiichirouUta I feel you! I got Acheron because her gameplay felt cool and I liked her overall design and voice acting etc, sure she has served me well but that wasn’t my primary reasoning. I don’t have any follow up units at all, nor break aside from Boothill who was cool in the story (but I don’t have his supports…) and my only viable sustains are Fu Xuan and HuoHuo, because I genuinely like them. Aventurine be as op as he wants, I don’t like his attitude xD I am going for the Herta in this patch because I adore her witch aesthetic, and Feixao because she was just so cool in the Xianzhou story and I took a break first time around. I’ll probably always have trouble building “good” teams around the characters I like, but I’ll make it work
I do that too! I rarely get a meta character if I don't like them or their playstyle, sometimes I coincidentally like a character that is meta, that's neat, sometimes I like a character that is not meta, that's neat also Legit makes it sm fun to play the game without worrying all the time about the endgame and such
I started doing the same. Skipped every character I didn't personally want regardless of meta. Now I'm just making weird teams that have some kind of synergy but usually don't make sense. Clear times be damned I just care that they clear at all
Well as a day 1 player I agree with you hahaha. I didn't pull for Acheron because I don't like her hahaha, I always pull for characters that I like. Screw the meta, as long as I can get all the rewards, I am good with it. And yes I am gonna skip for the Herta and Aglaea. Save my Stellaris for ma boy Mydei
I always thought that e6s5 characters would be immune to powercreep... But now i dont think so. Theres literally NO way you can make some of your characters viable anymore, for f2ps and whales alike.
Yep. It'll hold... for awhile, but how long "awhile" is varies now. Ruan Mei? You made it all the way to the end of 2.X. Sparkle? Girl got powercrept in her own patch set--and supports and enablers are supposed to be the LEAST susceptible to powercreep.
E6 S5 Selee is dead bro, also there is something called Eidolon efficiency done by the masters of FOMO "Prydwen" they have their numbers posted for every Eidolon and every youtuber follows their guidance almost by heart, so yeah, for Example everyone knows E1 Robin is insane but they have the damage numbers for every eidolon of every character, which is good, but also bad bc it shows as well how insane the powercreep is in the game and at the same time its predatory in its practice itself, you just care about efficiency not about having fun, you just care about not falling off or being unable to clear. idk man I hate this lately with Hoyoverse.
Yall have no idea what you’re talking about. Any e6 char is strong today even blade who’s considered the weakest limited dps. F2P blade can clear moc so e6 definitely can. Also seele? That girl is still a strong dps but yall have no idea what her feats are so you call her bad. I can’t with this fandom 🙄
@ Well, I partially meant the future. Like, at this rate, by the end of 3.8, Blade (and the rest of them) might not even be able to clear MoC12. Also, you need to invest more time and resources to make them as good as characters now (even at e6), which is a bad sign. More investment for the same result is not worth doing (if you like happiness). Also, the same supports to hyper-carry any DPS into meta territory work more effectively with the newer DPSs. Sorry if it was unclear.
@@monbebehere1607Yeah they can still clear, it’s just a matter of how their clears compare in terms of cost to other characters. In a team for a maximum power seele you would at least want e1s1 Sunday, e2s1 sparkle, or e1s1 robin. On top of that, you would probably run triple harmony, so it’s totally possible you just have all 3. Each of them is a 3 cost character on top of seele herself being an 11 cost character in this team. That’s like a 20 cost team to 0 cycle when Acheron or firefly or feixiao could do it with 6 cost teams or lower. But I do advocate for using your favs, so if you’re able to make Seele and Blade be top tier, then there is really no reason to worry about what others think of them. The fan base is always placing too much focus on zero cycle clears and tier list rankings, when it should always be about having fun and enjoying the game (regardless of being f2p or a whale).
Powercreep is such a prevalent problem that it’s even noticeable when you compare the max level Doomsday Beast fight and the max level Hoolay weekly boss fight. I could very easily take out the Doomsday Beast with my Break Himeko team no problem, despite having a mediocre level of investment (E0S0 Himeko and Fugue, E0S1 Lingsha, moral support Asta, and relics that are just barely passable). Meanwhile, I would need to drag out a friend’s max invested Feixiao or Acheron onto my team just to scrape by against Hoolay. And this is just the content players need to farm to be able to fully upgrade their units. I can’t imagine how painful it must be trying to keep up with the endgame content, given that I myself still have not managed to reach the final stages of any of the main gamemodes.
Right? When I went to the older weekly bosses I was so surprised how viable different team comps were, how that same damage I deal in MoC actually was sufficient here!
Well, you are not wrong, but keep in mind that you should not compare First year bosses to second year bosses. Evenmore, First patch boss to second year bosses. The Reason why i'm telling you this is that in First patch all players were at lvl 1, so they could not know how much they could push to make the content hard enough and also there were very few characters with very few, not developed, archetypes, without their specific supports. I clearly Remember that phantalia's boss fight at max level and Evan more the ruan mei bug boss were a huge problem for me and my team, i used to die on those and Battle took really a while. Recently i did phantalia for fugue and i basically oneshot her now. What i'm trying to Say Is that on avarage all players took almost a year of gaming to reach a stable point where we all could consistently complete endgame content that become easier and easier ( obv talking only about f2p and goldfish). The point here Is that now we basically reached a cap where characters and builds cannot be upgraded that much. And that Is why now HP inflation and fast new characters powercreep both in damage and utility Is potentially becoming a problem.
I posted this today on another video because i saw the take you talk about, i was like dude really? I saw the take of certain content creator saying the inflation problem its only a problem because f2p players dont know who or how to pull. Dude, they releasing 2 5* per patch since 1.0 (Rappa patch being the exception) if you lose 50/50 you may not get the character you want let alone eidolons / light cones, i think its insane to try to defend this. Up to now there are 49 5* stars in genshin impact, with the addition of The Herta and Aglaea HSR has 39, one game is 4 years old... let that sink in for a minute before talking about the greediness of players. I do not want everything, im not "greedy" I dont have Lingsha, Boothill, Rappa , Huo Huo, Kafka , Black Swan, Argenti, Yunli, Jade, Topaz, Jiaoqiu... and maybe someone else im not remembering, i skip a lot of shit to try to pull other shit , just to lose 3 50/50 in a row and woosh your account is now trash and you struggle to keep up because moc bosses have now 3M HP but its my fault because im pulling the wrong way. And this is the nature of gacha, luck its important and you cannot get everything if you are f2p... but please, whales or people who spend to get E2S1 everytime should not talk about f2p struggles and whatnot.
Even if you know who/how to pull and why, you simply can't predict what'll be ahead later on, especially meta wise, you gamble on Hoyo's whimsical decision on what archetype are they going to reinforce & introduce (remember silver wolf case of being future proof, LOL), hence why this inflation-powercreep combo is really problematic. And yeah, hearing those kind of take from CC who can spend character vertically on the go, does feel like punch in the gut. He's kinda out of touch with this case.
Better yet, even if I know exactly who to pull, what if I don't like the character/archetype/gameplay? What if I don't like robin, sunday or Ruan mei? If my favourite characters are Blade and Silverwolf, I just dont deserve to clear? People sincerely piss me off, "the game is easy, skill issue" then you look at their account and see every single T0 character, fuck off lol. My favourite is "I cleared it on auto, you're bad at the game." Making the game play itself isnt as skillful as you think it is, and its only proof that skill doesnt matter, only meta characters and luck.
@@Leliastasliterally this. I am praying that tribbie doesnt work with any character i have/want because i despise her design. Like i would love to see how robinless accounts are doing now and if tribbie ends up being like that imma be so pissed
yeah u are pulling the wrong way and u are greedy because being greedy is not necessarily “wanting everything” being greedy is having an excessive desire stop coping lil bro
Not trying to throw shade at anyone but I do think for some content creators they might honestly feel its a good thing for their content lol because they can showcase the new op character in their videos instead of a well balanced character that is better in more specific scenarios and doesn’t blow every other dps or support of its class out of the water. I just think it comes down to not as many people will be interested or keep clicking on vids if the character is not “op”
This is the thing a lot of people have let go unnoticed for years. The reason larger creators are trying to shut ax up is because powercreep is free, lazy and low effort views for quite a few of the bigger creators. Pull videos, guides, meta analyses. All the lazy video types in the gacha sphere LOVE powercreep. It forces people to care a character exists whether they actually like them or not, which means inevitable free views. That's free money for them. It's not about looking out for the playerbase by telling f2ps to be careful with their pulls. It never has been. It's really a fear mongering strategy to make money and ax's video is messing with their potential for money by giving people the floor to voice their issues with the game's current direction. Those people don't care about anyone but themselves. We as a community allowed a lot of very bad actors to get to the top and this is unfortunately the end result of that. A guy tries to point out genuine problems in hopes of reaching the devs to better the situation and they act like he's the crazy one because there's less money in it for them.
Random twitter users: “PoWeRcReEp DoEsN’t ExIsT!” Tell that to me, the resident Seele main since 1.0. AKA: The character whose kit relies on sniping weaker enemies to keep the damage and turns flowing and just stops working completely if they can’t get any kills because the minimum health of enemies continues to rise with seemingly no end in sight.
yeah they definitely need to get into the habit of buffing older units so they can keep up with the current meta. that’s the only way i can see the powercreep being circumvented as of now
My problem is, as someone that started in 2.5, is that I simply dont have the TB to grind out enough relics. I'm struggling to keep up DESPITE having meta units at 9/10 traces because I simply can't equip them with good enough relics. Everytime I get close to clearing MOC 11, they increase elite and boss HP by another 100k+. I still don't even have a second limited sustain despite playing for 6 months with hundreds of hours. I hate that gacha games will simultaneously force you off the game with an energy system but ALSO make relic grinding complete RNG.
You started in 2.5 and already clearing MoC 10? That is great progress! Originally 11 and 12 were added on some patches afterward. 11 and 12 are radically harder than 10. I think you will be fine with more time invested over the next patches. Good luck!
If you don’t have another limited sustain in 6 months of playing then you have the same problem as me, which isn’t a game problem but the fact you don’t pull/ save for a sustain. Dps or support characters are usually more interesting so we tend to pull for them. I have been playing since release and only have E1 Huo huo from a lucky 2 pull. I haven’t pulled any other sustain, or I simply lost 50/50 because I used my pulls on a dps that will get powercreeped in 3 months. And I’m getting the Herta when she comes out instead of Lingsha for my Rappa team so I guess I won’t learn 🤣
I am not denying the fact that powercreep in honkai star rail is insane. Only sertain characters stay in the meta long term and the other half are useless after a year. Honkai star rail usually gives out a lot of free pulls, but it gets invalidated by the fact you pull for one unit and then the next one will just be…better.
Early game grind is always the roughest mate. It'll take a few months for you to be stable. I started with Dot and Blade with mostly purple relics way back in 1.5 so believe me it'll take time.
This game still needs more 4 stars and honestly investing in older characters like Genshin seems like too big of a risk. I have a C3 Raiden from picking her up here and there and she's still a great character. If I tried something similar with DHIL I feel like I'm putting my account behind. Also funny how DHIL released in the Hu Tao spot but bro is no where near the level of a Hu Tao right now
I think one of the worst things about the state of Star Rail at the moment is that MoC in itself isn’t hard, it’s just increasingly tedious due to the massive HP inflation. Its also feels like they’re increasingly and aggressively “strongly encouraging” the pulling of Eidolons by putting major damage boosts behind E1 and/or E2, as well as making signature light cones that completely fix increasingly bigger flaws in characters base kits. I love the game and have put a fair whack of time and money into it, but Hoyo’s increasingly obvious and aggressive monetisation practices are starting to feel shittier than ever. It’s not like it’s even solely a HSR issue either, as Genshin has also massively had this issue since 5.0, granted that’s the least of that game’s endless list of problems. Even ZZZ had Miyabi release and immediately out DPS everyone prior to her by an absolutely ridiculous degree. It begs the question as to whether that game’s going in the same direction, in which case it might just be a company wide directive.
Miyabi is busted, but that doesn't really matter. If you're a decent player, you can clear the endgame with mostly A ranks and 1-2 limited S ranks pretty comfortably. She is also very likely an outlier in terms of power level. Our next limited DPS is set be closer in power to the previous power ceiling according to the leaks.
@@maughtayo I'm not a ZZZ player so mayb my words don't hold water but I'm seeing the same trend in miyabi when DHIL/JL was released. Ppl were alr harping about powercreep concerns all the way back in 1.3/4. It's not because DHIL and JL made previous dps unviable, but they were dominating moc with a higher dmg ceiling (at the time) with much less effort compared to using dps units before them, at least for the casuals attempting endgame. There were ppl complaining how not having either of them made their MoC clears more painful during 1.x.
@Dchy23 That's a fair point. Miyabi does make stages with her element weakness, basically trivial even with her worst team, and her usage rate within our rotating endgame modes is very high. There could be a problem if the devs assume every player has Miyabi Personally, unless we get some unreasonable HP inflation in our rotating endgame modes, I don't think Miyabi being this strong is a problem. If people complain that they can't clear content without her, it's very likely just a skill issue. And this is coming from someone who is at beat an above average player mechanically
Denying MoC difficulty as "Just HP inflation" really irritates me. "it's not difficult, it's just HP inflation". If you can not clear MoC because of the higher HPs then it IS difficult. It has gotten difficult. It will keep getting difficult.
@@randyjr.arsenio5624Think of it this way: You have to do math addition operations, easy, right? Now do 10.000 in 20 minutes, that becomes difficult, right? I liked your point about Genshin handling powercreep better. They've definitely got it, but they handle it better because new supports can make older characters good again, like Furina and Xianyun making plunge teams for Diluc and Xiao, or Nahida / dendro giving Keqing a new chance to be good again or Chevreuse making Raiden even more busted than she already is. I can still clear the Abyss with Nilou Bloom, Alhaitham Quickbloom, Raiden National, Keqing Aggravate, and Ayato National teams. Sure I struggle and don't 36* (but I never did anyway) and floor 12 was never easy for me anyway. I haven't seen HSR show any restraint in new characters. It's more like "new character do bigger numbers" or "new character do two things or three things" when the older character did one. Sunday (who I do have) has a kit that is so overloaded, you don't need Sparkle or Tingyun anymore ever (maybe not Bronya either). Why would you ever pull DHIL when Acheron is in the game and does more damage and ignores weaknesses with her ultimate? Why pull Fire Fly when I have Rappa and Fugue? There's a clear "better" choice for pulling and it's always the newer character, which is kind of brutal. Maybe 3.0 is when HSR finally calms down, but we shall see. I am hoping Remembrance is the "dendro" of HSR: a new way to do damage, and NOT the "hyper bloom" of HSR: an easy way to do free damage for no trade-offs (like super break).
As somebody who has Acheron I would never take her to fight Kafka cause of the 40 percent lightning resist. It is a scenario where IL would perform better. Elemental resists shouldn't be overlooked.
I believe 3.0 and on is honestly where we should see how they truly handle the powercreep. But knowing them I doubt that anything will change and we’ll be in the loop of getting more and more op characters as older characters fall further into disparity
@@John_II them making new support and having old characters good again is on a grand total of one unit, that being jing yuan with Sunday, hopefully we get more in the future.
I actually disagree. Powercreep is definitely real but HSR does being old units into the meta again, albeit they aren’t as strong as they once were. By JY and Himeko got huge huge buffs with Sunday and Fugue. Robin made Topaz viable, Sparkle made IL much better on her release too.
I've been talking to my friends yesterday. People often compliment hsr for being more generous than genshin, but often times I see the amount of SJ per version is only twice or even less than genshin's primo per version, but HSR consistently released 2 characters per version while genshin sometimes release 1 or 2, also HSR characters are often more urgently needed than genshin, and genshin's teambuilding is probably more flexible than HSR even today. Thinking all of that, I think I will praise genshin for it
No don't ever praise Genshin. They will double down on bad Genshin quality onto other their game. The only game that I play which is free from Genshin influence is GGZ that only because it 2d and not have PG13 rating.
@@paris5831 it is. But idk how many pc in zzz compared to primo in genshin or even to sj in hsr. Its probably the same as sj in hsr at least. But in terms of characters and team building, zzz is still more flexible compared to hsr, but zzz is still in version 1.4 so it can be too early too tell. Hopefully it wont end up like as bad as hsr' recent hp inflation
I heavily disagree. I’ve been struggling with genshin so badly. I’ve had it since it released in 2020 and have JUST NOW gotten to inazuma. I can’t build my characters, I don’t have the right characters for good teams, and farming is so much harder in genshin. I will always praise hsr because at least in that game I have access to end game stuff cus I can actually pass the main stuff. I don’t even THINK about the end game stuff in genshin, cus I can’t even past the story with how weak my characters are. And at the beginning of honkai I was able to use whatever character I wished. I used physical trailblazer as my main dps until I got boothill 😂 can’t do that in genshin! (But as said in the video, hsr is going down the wrong path and making it harder to do that. :c )
@@Thelostpinetree what you are talking about is completely different here. I talk about how many characters you can possibly get from the pulling system and how many currency you can get from the games per version. And what you talk about is character building and material farming. Also I dont get the idea how you had genshin since in 2020 but just entered inazuma recently becaus its hard ? Genshin's story and exploration is too easy that I'd rather considering you lie than having skill issue.
All this powercreep and yet we still dont have a current Ice or Quantum dps that isnt affiliated with Erudition. Hoyo unwillimg to fill those spots would rather work on a new path to speed up said powercreep. 😂
Well yeah but filling spots isn't even important anymore they have repeated characters with same element same path now, Fugue and the new "Hp Support" for 3.X I forgot her name, the loli triplet thing, anyways they are both repeated chars for their element and path so that's not their main focus, their focus is power creeping and stealing money from ppl's old chars as they literally are fkin the game to force you to pull new shiny toy.
Imagine not being able to predict the future, pull every premium "broken" character (for like 3 patches) and win every 50/50 with the jades you saved so that you have enough for the future units, like just plan better 🤣. Truly the signs of a greedy and dumb player, just get E6S5 smh (yes, also a joke)
@@Yawar25 whats the difference between having the same floors unchanged and hp inflation with characters that are tested with past ones kits to powercreep them that barely play differently...? to add basically they use blade for castorice and mydeis kits as a test and both are hp scaling that just fit into a niche harder to fill
•Looks like ill just farm wind set rather than dps relics from now on... •Feixiao was mid this phase tho •It was a mistake when they made other dps acheron/emanator level rather than making her an exception. •Even though i want castorice and i have sunday(forcedfully) , im concerned about how broken she is gonna be and it makes me sad.
e2 FF here without Lingsha or Fugue, yes eidolons. I'm still dealing 600k+ in this MOC aside from trotters. Can do 2 cycles on 1st side. Others can do better. The real issue here is with or without Fugue, she still needs HMC. HMC is soon switching to RMC and Fugue alone doesn't buff FF as much as HMC does.
Also this MOC was made to promote Fugue. Greedy devs. They put trotters far apart and have different weaknesses. If you are using standard FF team, no one can break them except her. Also, if Svarog grabs FF, your run is bricked.
E2 S1 FF here, looking at the MoC rn for FF E2 player didnt really that much honestly, maybe because i also play with 2 DDD S5 for both HMC and Ruan Mei. but without lingsha i can feel you would have a problem hitting wide range or AoE especially of its 5 target. at first half lingshia not really matter since its not that many target 3-4 still do able 0-1 Cycle with E2, at 2nd side tho, the multi target really taken toll for Firefly and make you to choose either break and kill the trouter or dealt dmg to the bugs. Lingsha or Fugue help in this case so you can focus to dealt dmg to the boss.
It's crazy bcs ppl will say powercreep isn't a thing, but these days I won't even consider using my seele or jingliu or any "non-meta" dps in MoC even if in theory they could work well against these bosses because they just can't do *enough*. Hyv increases the enemy hp to keep up with every new bloated kit, leaving old characters in the dust which is what powercreep is to a T I probably could clear with them if I tried hard enough and spent hours tuning my teams and figuring out how to, but thats part of the problem bcs I would never have to do that with new dps. The only sig I have is for Acheron, I don't pull for eidolons, I don't even need to 1 cycle anything I just want to be able to use the characters I pulled for and still make it within 10 cycles 😭 Powercreep is a super big problem in hi3 too so I'm not at all surprised, but I expected them to at least take a while and not dive headfirst into it not even 2 years after releasing. As much as I hate it, they do it because it works and it generates profit- it's just more incentives for spending players to spend more and f2p to feel like they need to start to, it doesn't matter how unimportant MoC is in the grand scheme of things it's the feeling that you need *more* that makes ppl spend
The game's design kinda forces u to pull for the most effective character ngl.. it's kinda apparent in supports Imagine playing FF only with HTB. Or Himeko break. Both don't have RM say bc u only just played this patch. The potential of the char's dmg is now put behind a specific support. Back in the early game, we still hd a creative strat (remember dps welt?) provided we have enough 4* eidolons and some pivotal stats But the current days design just limits u to 'play dot w kafka and blackswan' and not sampo or gui ever. U are always pushed to think 'I have to have unit B cuz they will boost Unit A to steroids' The thing is, that can be fine ONLY if they can be used w old unit. Like Jingyuan's treatment right now with Sunday. It will balance out the disparity between old vs. new and calms the powercreep a little
@@Ikaretayaroudaze u literally have fugue. I mentioned Rm cuz she's been a staple in FF team until like this patch w Fugue. Then, it still proves my point they want u to play w the specific support. The entire break team relies on RM for the entire penacony patch before Fugue. And I alr said, 'imagine playing FF only w HTB'. If u still managed to beat MOC without fugue then thats a good game desigb
Took a break from hsr a while back for elden ring, where you could try out any single playstyle or build you wanted and it would still clear if you tried, and nothing is behind a paywall. Kinda made me rethink why i was even continuing with star rail when the game actively discourages you from playing who you want to play.
You can't really pull the "it's the players' fault because they complain even though they don't pull for meta characters" argument, because every new character IS the new meta character. It has been for months, Star Rail's meta changes every patch because the new character is so damn broken that it destroys everything that came before. And sure, it feels normalized if you are made of money and pull for the new shiny character every time to use them in the hardest content because that content got scaled up to meet the new standards. That is 100% on hoyo, there is no defending it.
Doesn’t help that apparently they also care more about the cn community which I can understand why they do. But it’s kinda up to them as well if anything is to change
Of course it's the players fault when they don't even understand the characters. What do you mean every new character is meta? Jade is considered mediocre, only brought up by Herta now. Yunli is fairly balanced for a character. Jiaoqiu was shitposted to death to the point that a lot of people didn't pull. You have the outliers like Feixiao, Lingsha who are busted and Sunday is straight up blatant powercreep, true. Rappa and Fugue aren't by any kind of metric broken when they got bashed everywhere. People want the new characters to be good, but at same time shit on them if hoyo brings them down to a balanced level, which is what the main complaint was about. The sheer hypocrisy.
@@whiteshadow4605 I don't expect to change your mind when its made up. However, you named 3 characters that weren't broken, that released with broken characters on the same patch at the time of their release. And you named 3 characters that are "broken outliers." How is something an outlier, when they are literally the same number of characters you said weren't broken? That contradicts the definition of an outlier, as in this case it is affecting the overall mean. You forgot Aventurine, which is by far the most busted sustain support atm. And Robin which is the best support. Jiaoqiu is Acheron's best support unit to the point they don't want to play Acheron unless you have him, whether he is broken or not is up for debate but Acheron got powercrept right after by Feixiao anyway. Firefly was broken on release as the main brake dps in the game, with MC as the support, Rappa powercrept her. And I argue Fugue is even more broken than Sunday with how busted break teams are atm. Compared to a whole patch series of something like... say Genshin's Sumeru arc (which is when I stopped playing that game)... I am trying really hard to remember any meta defining character except for Nahida.... a whole 3.x series and 1 character meta defining... you counted 3, arguably 4-5 characters in one patch series.
@@electroarray6226"Rappa powercrept Firefly", do you know what you are talking about? Cause you're wrong, Rappa is only better in PF, in full AoE scenarios, Firefly beats her in everything else. She is overall still the superior DPS
Not to toot the multi billion chinese corporation's horn but it is definetly working, good for f2p or not, they are making more money than ever so im not sure about "flawed", seems to be working just as planned from their pov
As someone coming from FGO this game powercreep is ridiculous insane lol If it keeps being like this then I don't see still playing it after the Fate collab
It's horrible game design and insanely predatory micro transactions going hand in hand. It's insane that instead of selling skins for example (which would be printing money) we're getting 2x hp on bosses every patch because they devs are lazy pieces of trash, and people are gonna die on the hill of "it's not that bad, that's how gacha games work, you're f2p/low spender why do you complain" like we're trying to make the game worse or take something from them.
One of the few instance where the game is just flat out inflating HP Bosses like Banamusement have reasons for it to have 5mil HP(and the upcoming boss in 3.0 also had its own reason to have 8.2 mil HP) but just copy pasting old bosses with more HP is kinda bad, tho idk what to expect for this MoC as there arent any new boss added in 2.7 so its just gonna be old boss but more HP On the topic of using who you like, i think pulling Eidolons to play catch up with E0 units or pulling support Eidolons to have that unit hard carried is fine(its the same investment as a new E0S1 unit), after all E2 DHIL still works plenty fine in recent contents which is pretty decent for a 1.3 unit
A) A buff would be nice for old characters (e.g. Seele and Blade) B) The reward should be for killing the boss. Right now the reward is if u kill the boss quickly. Something like: you killed the boss (one star) = jades. You killed him quickly (two/three stars) = extra feathers
With how bad powercreep has gotten honestly at this point I'm not pulling for meta (not that I was even doing that intentionally before), I'm pulling for who I like and eidolons for those characters I will continue to be a Dr ratio main even when he can no longer clear endgame, as long as I can clear story mode fights which obviously don't have timers I am happy When ratio eventually reruns I'm gonna try grab e2s1 (he's currently e0s0) because I love ratio he's one of my favourite characters These characters I eventually plan to have e6s5 - Rappa Aventurine Boothill Dr ratio (because these r my 4 favourite characters) Even if by the time I have e6s5 no doubt they'll have been powercrept I genuinely don't care anymore
Well Rappa is meta now, also Aventurine and Boothill with their best teams and Ratio is fine at E0 tho wouldn't recommend him E6 when evil stuff like Sunday exists, however that's just me talking about efficiency you should be able to play what you want, I love Jingliu as a character and gameplay but she is now trash and that's just sad.
I don't play end games because I know my favorite characters don't have synergy with each other. But I like them, so I pulled for them and tried to get them LC and eidolon. If story and event contents were done, I just went to other games or touched the grass and back after new patch released.
HSR only gives 20 extra pulls in an update on average compared to genshin while also releasing 2 new characters per patch and introducing quad banners in Just 2.X life cycle also 4stars in HSR suck balls they are no where near to the 4stars in genshin in terms of value and no it’s not just 1.0 4stars of genshin even the new 5.3 4star lanyan is said to be a good shielder who is competing with zhongli while also being a VV resistance shredder combine that with TTDS Atk buff she’s literally an s tier unit The resin reserve system in HSR means no shit because if you’re a returning player you have to build more than 5-6 new characters to clear the content as a F2P and the 2400 resin reserve can only help you to barely build one character meanwhile in genshin if you’re currently able to clear abyss and took a 6 months break and come back you can still clear the content with the same team
There is also Kachina, who is free, btw, who can use the Scroll set, which basically makes her smol Xilonen. They really looked at the Natlan artifacts and said, let's make the best artifacts ever, that make building dps's easier, and makes supports busted.

I've hit a point where I have pulled and vertically invested in one very specific character I like. I will do whatever has to happen to make that character survive. That character does not leave the team. That's non-negotiable. Ride or die till end of service. If it gets to a point where somehow that character can't even survive main story content due to gimmicks or powercreep messing up regular maps, I'm out. Things are so out of control on the endgame front that I'm just burnt out. This is a game, not a job. Everyone always claps back with the, "Just use / pull these characters instead." Bruh... It's a video game, not a job. If a game is directly forcing things on you, there's a problem. Straight up. I don't even get excited when I see any of the Hoyo games update their endgame content anymore. I just sigh and say, "Fuck" with a considerable amount of exasperation evident in my voice. I would say I should be fine for a while because I vertically invested in a support / enabler because that's how things used to be for Hoyo games, but Sparkle and Sunday happened, so who even knows anymore. I used to play endgame content really extensively, but I've been so burned out lately that I'm basically a story-only player now so rip my jade stash. We also have to worry about Hoyo implementing gimmicks that basically could be replaced with a white png taking up the entire screen with "Buy new characters" written in crayon and have the same effect since Genshin's Natlan region now has enemies that make Abyss extremely unfun without Natlan characters. Your point about Hu Tao and Neuv is mostly true, but you can really tell they're blatantly trying to find a way to get rid of the one good thing Genshin had: good character shelf life. God forbid they pull something like that with the memosprite enemies in Star Rail. Things would be worse than they already are with the HP inflation and sheer damage multipliers rising. I vertically invested in Fugue not because I wanted a broken character. It's because I KNOW I'll need E1 and better if I want to use her for longer than 6 months. And honestly? That sucks. I'm strongly debating playing Wuthering Waves not for its endgame content, but just because Kuro Games at least actually listens to its player base. I feel like they give a damn. Hoyo at every turn since they got big and popular has basically taken the attitude of, "No, no, no silly player. I'm god here and I make the rules." It's gotten old. Very old.
Yeah I feel you on every part of the rant, I feel the same with Hoyo games, at some point in Genshin I just stopped worrying about new chars and just focused on Neuvi and others I like for example Raiden as well or Nahida, but they truly don't give an F for their player base and will never listen if you are not Chineese... Which I find really sad. Fk that tbh
If ur debating WuWa, just gonna tell you now in the recent ver. with regards to their endgame they are going the banner shill route Hoyo and Kuro's prev game, PGR, went with giving advantage to on-banner units with a wide gap. They also added 2 elements will be debuffed in their equivalent of MoC Floor 12. For example, one of the current bosses has Havoc (think Quantum) res innately of 40%, now with the new ToA Blessing it adds another 10% debuff on Havoc units making it 50% Havoc Resistance (there is still no Res Shred coming from any character in this game yet or even expected for awhile). So you are mega-disadvantaged in certain endgame cycles cuz the "Havoc" DPS you pulled for on a whim that you liked might be debuffed on a whim. Meanwhile the buff part of the blessing gives 10% Glacio (Ice) Res Shred on the same boss who only has 10% innate Glacio Res, meaning the boss has 0% Glacio Res. And what do you know? The current banner has a Glacio DPS and Glacio Sub-DPS that is the best partner/support for the DPS running, gee wonder what this all means? (Just also gonna say this team also has a lot of DMG Bonus up stats meaning with 0% Glacio Res, the damage gap gets even bigger) WuWa atm endgame is volatile for 2.0, so something for you and others to ponder.
Agree with everything except the part about Genshin's current abyss. The new abyss is annoying overall with team restrictions, yes, we can agree on that, but Natlan characters are beyond a must for the Papilia boss and plenty are overblowing it out of proportion. Surely they can make it easier to certain degree assuming they attack a lot as well to begin with but I personally don't mind the mechanic concept of it favoring high attack frequency to take down the shield, it was something not so explored before and any character or reaction that hits a bunch can get it done without too much trouble. I think some people are overreacting with the word 'need' to fight this boss as 'if you don't have these, you can't defeat it, similarly to how many love to parrot after 3 years since its introduction how the Geo Wolflord can't be beaten without geo when in reality high and fast elemental applicators can also take down the skulls. Imo a worse shiling for Natlan characters in abyss would be making chambers filled with those new shielded monsters which is kinda happening in the next week's rotation, also a highly specific 75% nightsoul damage bonus increase to those characters. The abyss blessings after these rotations are also looking too specific for the banner characters as well when usually it's kinda more generic even if it shills the banner character ofc. We an agree that Genshin is lately giving some mixed signals though and let's hope this isn't them turning into the HSR creep mindset.
@@jastcaz7398 agree the dmg and character check on WuWa is very scare and hard. its not about stat check its about character check basically HSR route. while their exploration is chill game. for what i see Genshin is really opposite of WuWa. in genshin they make those previllage exploration comfy unit as gacha character and still have good dmg even meta sometimes but still able hold the power break. while in WuWa they treat every player same experience for exploration but say fk you in tower content if you dont have their rateup recomend character. even with 100% weapon banner somehow i thinking..... arent this kinda say that you need also their sig ?
@@Kindi001 Interesting, I only saw wuwa's fomo being worse than HSR in two factors. For one, they're literally dangling the sig weapon more blatantly than hoyo with that guaranteed pity and they made each waifu character more and more attractive in their design and story to get you to pull for them, a definite powercreep in cinematics when I'm watching carlotta's story. I hardly ever heard anything bad about their endgame until now.
@@MiZZpe1l3dWhen she came out she cleared moc faster than Acheron and any other dps for a while. The last few mocs tho Acheron has been outperforming again. She is still 100% able to clear, mine personally only tskes one more cycle compared to my Acheron, but it’s true mocs are going to be more aoe focused so she will begin to struggle (as her best team is all single target) . Not saying she’s bad, I will never regret her and it will eventually go back to single target (if we don’t have another stronger hunt character by then)
Players are being told to keep buying the solutions to a problem that the game has created. This simple truth makes me wonder where HSR will be in the future.
Make balanced characters and the content doesn't have to be hard Making op characters make whales pull for them and max everything E6S6 and you want the content to keep up with a max character and don't forget about +15 op relics
This entire powercreeping thing made me just pull E1 Firefly than saving for Herta. I'd rather just max who I have than pull new ones only to be covered anyways.
I'm a day one player that back then pulled for Jing Yuan instead of Seele and Kafka thinking that even if hes not a top tier DPS I should still be able to clear the content with him. Now not even 2 years later even with his BIS team and full investment hes not able to clear the late game content. I realized when Acheron released that I should stop trying for endgame content clearance. Since then I've started pulling for characters I actually liked instead of the next meta DPS or support. Thats why I went for Boothill E0S1 instead of getting FF, same with Jade and Rappa. Playing through the game with units I actually enjoy has made me want to get back into Star Rail as opposed to the time of Jinglius and Topaz release bc I liked neither of them and was upset about JL out dps-ing my maxed out King Juan. Although I have to admit that I wasn't even able to get to the highest stage of endgame content when I had Rappas best team at my disposal so I could also argue for skill issue
The latest leaks has shown that Sunday is the best harmony for castorice and not sparkle even though castorice is quantum DPS. Imagine being a premium quantum harmony but cannot even be the best harmony for quantum dps 😂. Remember E0S1 Sunday > E6S5 sparkle 😂
@@axHSR those sparkle simps just cannot accept that their favourite has become like silver wolf who being useless at their on path. Now nobody gonna use them as other options better than them. It seems tribbie also not worthy the pull as she has less DPS to use with compared to Robin, Ruan Mei and Sunday. Only Sparkle has 0 best DPS to use with her. Even Dhil wants Sunday more than her and has been increase in performance since Sunday released because sparkle failed to buff him to be on par with other tier 0 dps
As a Sparkle lover, yeah Sunday completely took Sparkle’s place in (as far as i’m aware) all of her teams. She’s still a good support, I use her a lot since i didn’t pull Sunday, but Sunday’s overall buffs are just so much higher than her’s. Ong, I wanted to post on reddit about this but I know they will defend their game with their life and just call it skill issue even tho there's minimal skill expression in this game and it's mostly stats. My well built feixiao ult with all the buffs fucking tickles the elites and bosses, it took me 3 ults to take down one elite mob. I have to reset again and again because Huohuo can't reliably keep everyone alive anymore and I don't have two aventurines for both sides. It just doesn't feel good or rewarding to play the game where the goalpost keeps moving faster than you can keep up. This will kill the game, why would players spend hundreds of dollars on a character they know for a fact will get powercrept within a few months. Hell, sparkle didn't even last one full version. It's simply disrespectful towards the playerbase.
Honestly I hate when people simply overlook a problem a game has just because they have a deep love for it,and just refuse to accept that what’s going on is becoming an issue
Jingliu suddenly being relevant after a few patches doesn't mean powercreep isn't real. The game just chose to bring her back after fucking her over for multiple patches, and she's only truly back if you pull the latest meta supp.
Thats why i like FF so much because a lot of her value just comes being fast + apply fire weakness+ blast. For dmg, she relies on superbreak supports like hmc and fugue and not her own multipliers like other characters. So unless they powercreep her 235+ spd + weakness implant on one character then shes fairly safe
i don't understand why anyone is celebrating dpses powercreeping each other. like people are HAPPY that fugue entirely changed the positions of the break dpses, the endgame not being ST friendly (feixiao being the main victim), or the fact that herta straight up powercreeps EVERYONE. i liked what they did with jing yuan. they made a new character to HELP him, but because he's an old character, they're also releasing a new character who is slightly better than him. however, he is still better than her in one of the endgame modes (pf) i get that some old characters really don't have niches they can do much with (seele for example. her resurgence just has to be made a fua and that fixes a lot of her problems ngl. it's a kit problem) but there are characters whose niche they can make use of (blade and jingliu) but they seem to just be powercreeping them (idk what castorice will do, but mydei is seriously just everything blade should've been) moc is an endgame mode for whatever gameplay type the current banner's characters play. that's fair. apoc is for break meta pf is for aoe meta what about ST, dot, etc? ST has high scaling dpses like feixiao, boothill and even topaz (although she's more like a sub dps) dot? hopeless for now, cannot do ANYTHING in apoc the rest? they will just get powercrept when the gameplay types actually get their moment imo, they really just need to make new characters that can indirectly help old characters as well as new ones. they need to make new endgame modes where a particular gameplay type dominates so that no one feels like their high investment characters can't clear anything
Well really the issue isn't about "Metas" the issue is about team building this game supposedly should focus about building the right units to clear a specific enemy however due to powercreep/Hp inflation old bosses that were even designed for certain chars. can't even be defeated for them, Selee for example... anyways yeah Hsr has huge problems atm
@@Biocdon right, but in PF for example, every aoe character easily clears. endgame modes where a certain gameplay style is really good while other gameplay styles are also usable should be made. PF is a perfect example
as an f2p that has e2s1 firefly, its crazy how i need 5 turns to beat first half of moc as compared to 3 months ago when i could still 0 cycle with her. HP inflation in this game is CRAZY. had to pray i win both sunday and fugue as an f2p cuz if i hadnt won fugue i wouldnt be able to clear second half with rappa.
You know. I cannot help but immediately think of people crying that the game was easy, and thus constantly said so in surveys. I remember this cause I was hearing about that around time we had the monopoly-like event we had in the past. The monkey paw truly be curling as it shows the devs had no idea how to make a game actually have difficultly.
Closing my eyes and pretending I'm chill clearing in 10 cycles. Nah but fr this MOC was designed to make every character currently out to feel just a bit rusty so we can ooh and ahh over how quickly Herta and Aglea will clear. What really made me mad though was that it also made my sustains feel rusty? This was the first time in actual months I've had to reset for a death in MOC.
I think for the most part that CC’s take has more nuance to it but they worded it in the worst possible way to farm engagement lol I think what he probably meant is something like, “HSR is a game about synergy and teambuilding. While sometimes you can pull for aesthetics, sometimes you have to make the compromise to pull for synergy, if you ignore synergy for design, you did it to yourself"
I thought it was bait until i saw him doubling down in the replies 😬 Of course hsr is a game about teambuilding but if youre a f2p or low spender theres a good chance you wont be able to get all the synergies you need, and even by then theres a good chance it already got powercrept
Nah man, it's the horrible takes in any way he can word it because he doesn't understand what powercreep means. It's literally just new characters having more power, thus it will become a problem when the content is also getting harder to match those extra power, aka what's happening in hsr
Nah it's definitely pure bait, doubling down is just casting a wider net so that he can make some reaction / response video and fan the flames even more. It's what Tectone used to do so he's just taking a page from the same playbook.
1. HSR 100% has a powercreep problem. One of the worst I have seen in more than 20 years of gaming. 2. Certain people have a financial incentive to rabidly defend the game and the company behind it. This leads to a toxic, contradictory discussion surrounding these problems. Thanks for being levelheaded and not shilling for a multi-billion dollar business just to keep your access to the creator server.
Something I've been saying is character retention is very important to player retention IMO. I'm far less likely to keep investing in new characters if my favorites fall off in less than a year, I like exploring new characters but it is hard to get excited about new characters if I am expecting them to fall off and be irrelevant. Sparkle was the first NEW character I got, I'd just started playing and had just picked up DHIL and she was the first time there was a new character I was excited to pull and now she's already been power crept (yes I know DHIL has been too but I have too much invested in him to not be delusional about him)
MrPokke is out of touch since he always gets characters paid by viewers or himself, he has no perspective on what the average player gets in the game, even with some minimal spending. And the reality is you can't just "choose" a character, skip another, when some of these need each other to function at a decent level.. and most new characters have no lightcone alternatives besides the paid one
Great video, and thank you for making this. Something I found is that, after 2.3, I left and changed how I approached the game when I came back. Before I left, I pulled for Jingliu and Acheron on their reruns and enjoyed playing them, but never was able to clear any of the three modes - despite working pretty hard on builds and tactics. Now, I came back, pulled Madame Herta and with my Acheron team fully cleared all modes in a couple of days. My perspective now is that HSR’s endgame (and Genshin’s endgame with those God forsaken nightsoul plants in 5.3’s abyss), is more to showoff/showcase the newest units. If you don’t like the newest character, struggle like a chump, spend $$$, or just wait until there’s a character you like. I’ve found much more enjoyment with this understanding. This being said, as someone who is familiar with b2b and b2c product approaches, this is a God awful approach by Hoyo because it introduces churn into the system. People may not return every time they churn, and the perceived barrier to entry (losing out on primos, old units being worthless) only increases with time. Folks in this chat likely have the context and knowledge to overcome these perceived barriers, but I wouldn’t expect the majority of people to do so.
The thing is, they are so good with giving us nice quality of life updates, with giving us things the playerbase cheers for! The praise/relief they would get if a next MoC for some reason has lowered hp on bosses, newer players would feel powerful for once, older players would be able to use their older units again, have more fun again- that doesn’t make it less challenging, but it makes it possible without super invested characters with optimized relics etc Edit bc I couldn’t spell “life”
I 100% agree with you and it makes me wonder what they could do to fix this issue. If you stop increasing HP, people will have no reason to pull for new characters other than personality and maybe playstyle, (which is completely fair, but it's not often they'll release a character you like, so they would probably lose a lot of money from that) but at the same time, pulling a character for the sole reason of it clearing the newest content is absolutely terrible and it's crazy that this is the current situation we're at. HSR being a turn based game makes creating completely new characters and mechanics difficult since it's a simple combat system. I know we're not the ones getting paid to find solutions to these problems (problems hoyo themselves created just to sell us the solution lmao) but I think it could be fun to throw around ideas!
The powercreep also restricted interesting clears, I used to goof around w/ Misha against True Sting for the sake of approaching the fight in a more interesting manner But w/ how the hp inflation has gone, I have to constantly drag Acheron and Firefly to brute force their way through MoC despite wanting to use some of my other units like Welt, Qingque and Kafka While they clearly aren't efficient, I just miss having fun w/ units I tend to like and spend months building on, just for them to completely collect dust as they can't pull it off as they once did I mean how many times am I going to see how busted Sunday and Robin duo is going to be, and how SB is out there w/ Ruan Mei, HMC and Gallagher / Lingsha + SB DPS, and the entire FuA squad You can't goof around and approach things differently as they once did Blade absolutely is in absolute need of a buff of sorts, back then I run him along w/ Jingliu since it felt cool how the two somewhat synergies together The constant need of the next iPhone due to it having higher specs than the other is a weird analogy on how units are being required for the latest MoC And lord, please... buff DoT.. while Blade is in tears, he can benefit from the new supports... while Kafka has become a debuff generator for Acheron.. I miss her relevancy so much
My take on all this HP inflation shit, is most likely for Hoyo to suck even more money off us. My E0S1 Acheron, which was able to deal at least 25% to MoC 12 bosses, now does like 5%. It is really terrible, the way that this is going
I started playing HI3 sometime in 2022 I think and I was really struck with how different the damage output of an Early game SSR was to just a current day character. I'd hop into something for the event to farm currency with an old character and be doing like 5% of the damage that the support SSRs dealt when I picked those instead. Even just spending all my gems stupidly on an apparently Free SR character (big robot hands Bronya whatever the fuck she was called) and her kit, none of the other characters I had gotten for free from the pity pool of old shitty characters could even compare. That's the future I'm afraid HSR is sprinting straight towards. These developers lack the self awareness to realize how fucking insane it is for a character from a year ago to be struggling to do 200k damage in a few turns while current day characters do 200k damage in one ultimate. Stop spending money on this game, it won't fix the problem, but you won't be financially vested in this fucking mess anymore.
They should just make more harder MoC/ Apocalypse / PF stages. Ok hear me out, but make so that those ultra hard content doesnt give stellar jade rewards. That way f2p can clear 1-12 but still appease whales and those who want to minmax strategy with floor 13-15 for example
Ngl I dropped the game entirely because of this. Idk I just kinda felt bad and silly for wasting all my time really trying to max out and optimize all my builds and teams only for it not to matter because, well, I just didn't want to spend or pull on their new shiny toy.
I don’t really have an issue since I will always be pulling new characters anyway and I’m not super attached to any one character. I don’t feel a need to play old characters in MoC when there are other game modes to use them in if I want to. What’s funny is that in genshin people are begging for old characters like Bennett and Xiangling to be powercrept.
Because it's 4 years and they are the ONLY ONES that do anything reliably. Benny? Heals + buffs + pyro applicators but required to stay in his circle. A pain, a chore and is one of the 2 characters who's a pyro decent applicators... Xiangling? Pyronado. It moves, unreliable unless it's childe, required benny to do good, requires too much ER and has tons of pyro application. Theres ALOT of issues with these 2 but they are the ONLY ONES for 4 years who are forced to be in your party for pyro application purposes... thoma is NA so there goes ganyu + lyney, especially for thoma who needs NA to shield.. Dehya sucks except for Emilie x kinich but even then she's ok.. then units like Maulani, Neuvillette, and more need pyro applicators who can be reliable but benny doesn't buff anything outside of flat attack and xiangling sucks for them... So yes, there's a legitimate reason for wanting them to be rid of at this point..
I think we shouldn’t focus on power creep regarding to character but rather focus on the issue of how they make new enemies with massive hp or rather they make it easier for us to build character like be able for us to customize the substats or something. If power creep doesn’t exist on character, they’ll lose big on profit on people who pull only for meta cause heck i’d still use seele if she’s an option. “Just build your character right” yeah right, just to deal below 100k damage over an enemy whose hp is beyond a million. “It’s not like they are forcing you to play endgame” most people ESPECIALLY f2p plays the endgame only for the stellar jades to pull for the character they want. “Hoyo will lose profit either way if they’ll remove power creep on character” THEY WON’T. People would still pull (a) if they like the character (b) if they want to clear the endgame in 0 cycles.
The power creep in this game is getting out of hand. The HP inflation is so ridiculous that its putting characters in the bin within 2-3 patches. I was someone who defended this topic when it was brought up when Acheron was out. But since then it has only gotten worse. I have a fully built FUA team with S1 Feixiao. Last reset i cleared in 1 cycle (almost 0). This reset it took me 5 and I call that bs when I pretty much dried my account to get FX and Robin. It's barely been 2 patches and already they seem to be moving away from Hunt.
Don't mean it but you mention Neuvillette still be great to pull. He is actually the most/ insane overload kit I ever since . Just like you put a Showmaker meme about K'sante onto him and it just fit perfectly well. Everything else I just agree with you
if the community didn't scream at them they would've nerfed him also he had his 2nd rerun just last patch and he is still broken while in hsr characters become weak even before their first rerun
@@N5FX *Cough* *Cough* . I'm looking at you Blade. Yah, Basically HSR powercreep so hard. Like when Blade out, he feel okay. But then come the Dan Heng IL . He just dominate Blade. And then Jingliu just trash both of them :x What a ride from 1.0 to 1.4 When 1.0 you get like seele and JY ( which basically has a lots of issues till Sunday ) Then whole 1.1 is support/healer Next 2 version, the DPS just out performance each other. While in Genshin , basically you can play with childe + Xiangling IF there is a room full of mobs, etc... That is only cons for HSR. Too much of powercreep. Now 3.0 and every character feel like they just normal attack and have all the damage of Jingliu
I tried to pull for characters i liked. I only did that once with jingliu and regret it. I even pulled for her signature during her rerun. And she did help me clear the content even against non ice weak enemies. But now she is completely unusable. And i have e1s0 robin, e0s1 sunday (huohuo e0s0). The only thing bad about her build is her speed. But the rest is good. And im not gonna sit here farm for the new relics set in hopes she'd get better. Now im really thinking if i should pull for The herta or not. But holy shit i would have never imagined she'd be completely un usable like this. To me it feels like she has been purposely made weak because The herta is coming soon.
I agree. I'm a day one player and a low spender for this game. Hsr is definitely what I consider one of my main gachas, since I play multiple. However, since GFL2 dropped, I've been enjoying quite a lot. Hsr has been HELLA stale ever since the 2.0 story wrapped up, and with all this powercreep and business practices they're doing (the 8 banner thing)... I'm starting to question if it's time to jump boats. I'm personally gonna make 3.0 the turning point for me. Cuz that's another problem I had as well, the 3.0 Livestream fcking SUCKED ( my opinion). It didn't excite me whatsoever for whatever is to come and yet, since I love her, I'm still willing to wait and see what they will do. But as soon as I see that this won't get any better? Yeah... It might be that time to bounce 💀
I see lots of comments that 3.0 is make or break for them. I’m in the same boat. I have stopped playing since fugue came out and only going to play once 3.0 releases. I hope it gets good again. I don’t care about powercreep at this point I just need better game.
This. Okay, sure. I like the world design of Amorpheus more than Penacony. Fine. That's nice, but everything else? All I could think to myself with Remembrance was: Gee, I sure hope this doesn't end up like Natlan in Genshin where they blatantly design a mechanic to make trying to clear endgame content with non-Amorpheus characters absolutely insufferable when those enemies are in the endgame modes. It's not even just the story or the general patch QoLs at this point. I need assurance Hoyo is actually listening and gives a damn about the playerbase at all because treating us like walking ATMs via powercreep and poor game design is not it man. From where I'm standing, they've gotten too used to being at the top and have developed a serious attitude problem.
People need to remember that the game is a product and they have chosen certain monetization methods on purpose, so power creep is inherent and guaranteed. Imagine if the next Pokemon main game released where you only had a few free Pokemon and had to pull for the rest, choosing how to monetize something fundamentally changes the design of it. Games like HSR are undeniably inspired by JRPGs, which always had characters joining for absolutely free as you progress through the main story and side quests (with the later development of adding DLC characters that you can purchase without rolling for), so everything is done by design and with intent.
Pulling complete unsynergistic characters or teams and expecting to clear is bs,but not having even little leeway and pulling 2 teams and vertically investing is just bs and unacceptable and i hate the fact that cc's aren't addressing the main issue that is the powercreep and defending the dogshit points they made on twitter or telling you ways to mitigate it instead of addressing the issue itself
This feels like the biggest moment of "I told you so". HSR devs knew that their system is so basic it is susceptible for early powercreep, not just powercreep, early powercreep. We can already see that as early as DHIL, where he was so strong characters like Seele and Jingyuan are already powercrept that all the mains can do is cope, and that was by the 3rd patch of the game.
I already was worried back in 1.3 when DHIL and Jingliu (slightly) powercrept Seele and Blade. But at least, we still had the elemental weakness. Now with all those overpowered new unit that ignore elemental resistances in addition to their crazy damage, it only valid my concerns I had more than 1year ago.
another problem that goes right along with the power creep and HP inflation is the insane artifact RNG, most players have a hell of a time getting one character built with the stats it needs much less a new character each patch... it makes me want to stop pulling because what good is this shiny new character if its going to have a half ass build on it for months because thats the best you can get... they either need to fix the artifact system or make farming free because even if farming was free it would/could still take a while to get the stats we need to make all of our characters much less the new ones even operate at a sub par level much less at maximum damage...
I really want to know what it is they have out for players who need gems the most but have to go through the most insane slogs imaginable every few weeks because they feel the game still needs to be difficult for overpowered teams they created
Thank you for making this video. I like how you mentioned with Jingliu the supports were a key component. Since as someone with a good e0s1 jingliu, without robin and Sunday. She genuinely doesn’t feel as powerful as she was for so long on my account. Sure it have firefly and that’s one good team but with the way how hsr is structured now if you miss one important 5 star in a team comp then that team comp won’t work. I have aventurine ratio and topaz. Aventurine and topaz I got in quick succession cause I knew Fua would be great, but I got screwed on robin’s banner, things just happen. You’ve got a lot more sympathy than a large chunk of this fanbase
I’m a 1.0 player and days before the game launched there was a MASSIVE leak for upcoming 5* (even Dr. Ratio was on that list). And I remember thinking how the game is going to start in a few days but they ALREADY have so many 5* characters ready to go. I was worried for how the game will look in a year’s time and with every new patch my gut feeling from back then keeps being proven correct. The company was looking greedy as hell with that list and I felt like hsr was going to have a 5* star problem.
I agree.....i cant clear even with all the good harmonies and some of the better teams. But i can't 36* endgame cause i simply dont have the best teams in the game at e2s1,HSR is a whale game change my mind
@TOTGodofWar yeah but those are day 1 players, anyone who comes in later doesn't have an easy time. I am not saying to clear easily but also i shouldn't be punished so severly for playing late that i can't clear endgame at all
The issue with the Bug Boss specifically is that there doesnt really seem to be a bis team against it. Who is this Boss made for? You have hooley, clearly for feixiao. You have svarog who any Lightning dps or dot can complete against well. Bug feels like it is for IL, Jingliu and Seele but all these characters need E1S1 on themselves or their teammates to work. Many do have neither of these things. And especially this Iteration with the trotters asks for erudition specifically so blast Attackers will struggle even more. I cleared with OgHeta and Jade in a respectful 5 cycles. Both of these units are considered lower to bottom tier in moc. The other units I just mentioned I cannot make work because of my lack of investment and I do not mean relics. It is frustrating to see this change but having played honkai 3rd, this is nothing really new to me. Doesnt mean people should stop complaining, they should and have. I think they could make "more" money by making newer units support older units (or God forbid make actual proper new Sets or light cones with more universal effects) rather than direct powercreeping dps. Even though Aglaea is on the horizon I am not tempted because I have a Sunday jy. Herta will powercreep Jingliu in the dust on my Account and there will be nothing I can do about it, and even less want to at this point. And blade, well, reading about Mydei is just disappointing. Another Problem is the constant onslaught of must pull Support units for every Team Archetype no matter how niche, and if you do not get said Support you sometimes can just go and bench that unit right away until you do.
6 to 12 SSRs in a whole year sounds absolutely insane. Especially coming from someone who plays other gachas like Limbus Company where you can get 2 every WEEK if you want...
It’s super irritating because seele is my favorite character I love characters who have scythes and I was so happy to pull her at the beginning of the game and she did carry me for a long time. But now she just does not keep up and it feels like in decent amount of game modes per premise, doesn’t work because there’s not enough weak enemies for her to take out to get her resurgence buff so it almost kind of feels like there are a lot of modes where she’s just not super good in because she’s not gonna be able to get the buff to do the insane damage she can do. I also think the fact that her old has only a couple of hits means if you just don’t quit on it on one or two of the hits she’s doing like no damage. I understand their premise of not wanting to Nerf characters because people paid money for those so I totally understand that idea. However, I don’t see anything saying that they couldn’t buff characters stats that just aren’t doing enough and making them better. And I’m not saying, give new relic sets that try to fix the holes in the characters kit, but just actually improving their stats, giving them higher damage multiplier or giving them a new passive effect that helps or some other ability to just make them better. I don’t see why buffs just can’t happen.
I wonder , their intention you see , what if their intention is "not everyone should be able to clear MoC12" . Well it's obvious that's their intention , but it's like become more extreme lately ? like upping the requirement , like even if people who have characters that help with the fight , but if they didn't invest into Lightcone and Eidolon they would still have a hard time ?
how dare you pull characters you like in this game about pulling characters? how entitled of you to expect to pull characters you like and clear content! pull [insert two teams] and then in six months [insert two teams] and stop complaining. /s
and then people say it's only 60 jades (completely forgetting that companies are preying upon you psychologically). powercreep will never be the consumer's fault...
People be saying “its only 80 jades” when in reality thats the only meaningful content we get 💀
Well tbh not to defend them or anything but many people don't understand or better said can't make the difference between meta pulls and casual pulls.
Love your sarcasm. :)
I hecking love to defend a billion dollar company that sell us 300$ character that have a 6 month life span
Months ago when Acheron came out we were all on the same page, we were all agreeing that the powercreep was getting crazy. What happened that now everyone seems to have forgotten how the game was pre Acheron?
I knew the game pre acheron was powercreep issues. Ruan mei was proof of that but even dhil e2 proved it even before... but people won't admit it
@@nobody-xh6iiRuan Mei was overtuned but quite honestly she didn't "break" the game, she was very easily replaceable by niche specific supports ( hell even JL back then still preferred Pela over her for def shred ) as evident by Sparkle who came right after replacing her in hypercarry.
Also E2 is a whole ass 2 eidolons, I'd expect characters with eidolons to be good and they're not a metric of balance by Hoyo ( or so they say anyways )
Its Acheron onward is when powercreep was completely out of control, it basically turned into a arms race of every character one upping the last sometimes outdoing them in their main niche as a side bonus ( Robin to Sparkle )

MAYBE jingliu can be decent with mydei, but blade? he just got completely powercrept. castorice can't save him because she's a solo dps reliant on supports (while mydei's likely a more flexible dps more reliant on sustains, which is why jingliu's hp manipulation would work with him, but it's probably too low to be significant)
i really really really hope they make changes to their kits. don't just replace old characters, make characters that can make them better (sunday for jing yuan), even if they're not going to be the best (aglaea being better.) they've done it before, so recently. they can do it again, why not?
Hook sinking underwater
@@wianwelgemoed5408 i still run sparkle togeter with sunday she is e2 tough.
Whats hilarious (in a sad way) to me is that they are so quick to nerf story mode as soon as a single person complains about difficulty, yet they have almost the entire player base complaining about the endgame modes and they just keep doubling down patch after patch.
There is not even consistency in their decisions.
That's an interesting point i haven't thought about... so true.
Yep
Why would they make the story hard for players? It's not Sekiro lol

The day you quit hsr is when you win the game
well said
As a day one player, agree 🙏
That's what I did. What is the point of keeping playing the game if the game does not respect the time and investiment I make into those characters?
bruh hsr is amazing even without giving a fk about endgame, i'd still play it regardless. if your problem is clearing endgame then you don't like the game, pack it up and stop commenting on things you dont enjoy playing
game is so lame i have so many 5 stars and most of them suck and its not fun , i have never beaten MOC (trailblazer lvl 70 btw) so i just quit the game, i play turn based for strategy , theres barely any of that
The Herta does huge numbers, but when you realise that those big numbers will quickly become unimpressive or just a standard, its super disappointing. Even if it will happen eventually, like slow the hell down HSR devs, the rampup is obscene
Yep, the damage number will cover the entire screen in 4.x at this rate. And 90% of people will leave like any powercreep heavy gacha
Reason why I barely play this game anymore, just tired of the chase.
I still use kafka and black swan.
I'm complaining on the version survey. It asked about apocalyptic shadow this turn around. I was clear on it. It's too "difficult".
More than difficult its getting impossible to clear bc they want to make old chars unusable

Most likely. @@mystey1
@@BDJZephno they don't. Your racism is showing.
I simply cant get excited anymore lol. If 3.0 sucks it's the end
@Rextech472 some of this idiots only want someone else to buff them up. So to get your old char get buff you need new char
Yeah instead of hype when new character appear the only thing in my mind when new drip appear is how long this character get powercreep.
I’ll probably always have trouble building “good” teams around the characters I like, but I’ll make it work
thank you for advice i going to do this to from now on to
I do that too! I rarely get a meta character if I don't like them or their playstyle, sometimes I coincidentally like a character that is meta, that's neat, sometimes I like a character that is not meta, that's neat also
Legit makes it sm fun to play the game without worrying all the time about the endgame and such
I started doing the same.
Moral Support Asta 💀💀💀
I do not want everything, im not "greedy"
I dont have Lingsha, Boothill, Rappa , Huo Huo, Kafka , Black Swan, Argenti, Yunli, Jade, Topaz, Jiaoqiu... and maybe someone else im not remembering, i skip a lot of shit to try to pull other shit , just to lose 3 50/50 in a row and woosh your account is now trash and you struggle to keep up because moc bosses have now 3M HP but its my fault because im pulling the wrong way.
@@joseblanco7614 he has 2 E6S5 characters does he not? Ofc he easily clears content in a game tailored towards whales
My favourite is "I cleared it on auto, you're bad at the game." Making the game play itself isnt as skillful as you think it is, and its only proof that skill doesnt matter, only meta characters and luck.

yeah u are pulling the wrong way and u are greedy because being greedy is not necessarily “wanting everything” being greedy is having an excessive desire stop coping lil bro
Random twitter users: “PoWeRcReEp DoEsN’t ExIsT!”
Tell that to me, the resident Seele main since 1.0.
I started on release, and I didn't clear until 2.2,so yes, that's completely normal
Also funny how DHIL released in the Hu Tao spot but bro is no where near the level of a Hu Tao right now
yeah theyre talking to all of you guys. powercreep is MY fault, I made it

@@axHSRsorry too busy adding mario to the game
There could be a problem if the devs assume every player has Miyabi
Personally, unless we get some unreasonable HP inflation in our rotating endgame modes, I don't think Miyabi being this strong is a problem.
It’s the same concept with MoC, the thing itself is not hard, but the amount of that easy thing you’ve got to do is so high and so squeezed in the time they give that it becomes hard

@@axHSR LOL... and you're right. Isn't the running joke in HSR that every new unit is Jing Yuan buff? :P

Firefly got massively boosted by both Lingsha and Fugue releases. I can see her feeling worse if you dont have either of those, tho.
firefly user here without lingsha or fugue, by god she is garbage to play
e2 FF here without Lingsha or Fugue, yes eidolons.

It's crazy that some people really defending the power creep problems
It's crazy bcs ppl will say powercreep isn't a thing, but these days I won't even consider using my seele or jingliu or any "non-meta" dps in MoC even if in theory they could work well against these bosses because they just can't do *enough*. Hyv increases the enemy hp to keep up with every new bloated kit, leaving old characters in the dust which is what powercreep is to a T
I probably could clear with them if I tried hard enough and spent hours tuning my teams and figuring out how to, but thats part of the problem bcs I would never have to do that with new dps. The only sig I have is for Acheron, I don't pull for eidolons, I don't even need to 1 cycle anything I just want to be able to use the characters I pulled for and still make it within 10 cycles 😭
Powercreep is a super big problem in hi3 too so I'm not at all surprised, but I expected them to at least take a while and not dive headfirst into it not even 2 years after releasing. As much as I hate it, they do it because it works and it generates profit- it's just more incentives for spending players to spend more and f2p to feel like they need to start to, it doesn't matter how unimportant MoC is in the grand scheme of things it's the feeling that you need *more* that makes ppl spend
The game's design kinda forces u to pull for the most effective character ngl.. it's kinda apparent in supports
Imagine playing FF only with HTB. Or Himeko break. Both don't have RM say bc u only just played this patch.
The potential of the char's dmg is now put behind a specific support. Back in the early game, we still hd a creative strat (remember dps welt?) provided we have enough 4* eidolons and some pivotal stats
But the current days design just limits u to 'play dot w kafka and blackswan' and not sampo or gui ever. U are always pushed to think 'I have to have unit B cuz they will boost Unit A to steroids'
The thing is, that can be fine ONLY if they can be used w old unit. Like Jingyuan's treatment right now with Sunday. It will balance out the disparity between old vs. new and calms the powercreep a little
I two cycled current moc svarog with HMC, Fugue gallager firefly u don't need Ruanmei
@@electroarray6226 You can't change someone else's opinion by talking nonsense, I'm sorry.
@@electroarray6226"Rappa powercrept Firefly", do you know what you are talking about? Cause you're wrong, Rappa is only better in PF, in full AoE scenarios, Firefly beats her in everything else. She is overall still the superior DPS
It seems that Mihoyo is balancing HSR around their whales. If that truly is the case then that's a very flawed game design model.
Not to toot the multi billion chinese corporation's horn but it is definetly working, good for f2p or not, they are making more money than ever so im not sure about "flawed", seems to be working just as planned from their pov
As someone coming from FGO this game powercreep is ridiculous insane lol
If it keeps being like this then I don't see still playing it after the Fate collab
One of the few instance where the game is just flat out inflating HP
Bosses like Banamusement have reasons for it to have 5mil HP(and the upcoming boss in 3.0 also had its own reason to have 8.2 mil HP) but just copy pasting old bosses with more HP is kinda bad, tho idk what to expect for this MoC as there arent any new boss added in 2.7 so its just gonna be old boss but more HP
On the topic of using who you like, i think pulling Eidolons to play catch up with E0 units or pulling support Eidolons to have that unit hard carried is fine(its the same investment as a new E0S1 unit), after all E2 DHIL still works plenty fine in recent contents which is pretty decent for a 1.3 unit
A) A buff would be nice for old characters (e.g. Seele and Blade)
B) The reward should be for killing the boss. Right now the reward is if u kill the boss quickly.
Something like: you killed the boss (one star) = jades. You killed him quickly (two/three stars) = extra feathers
With how bad powercreep has gotten honestly at this point I'm not pulling for meta (not that I was even doing that intentionally before), I'm pulling for who I like and eidolons for those characters
I will continue to be a Dr ratio main even when he can no longer clear endgame, as long as I can clear story mode fights which obviously don't have timers I am happy
When ratio eventually reruns I'm gonna try grab e2s1 (he's currently e0s0) because I love ratio he's one of my favourite characters
These characters I eventually plan to have e6s5 -
Rappa
Aventurine
Boothill
Dr ratio
(because these r my 4 favourite characters)
Even if by the time I have e6s5 no doubt they'll have been powercrept I genuinely don't care anymore
@@franziskavonkarma9952 i will do the same, skipping herta for aglea because she's one of my favorite units of all time
I don't play end games because I know my favorite characters don't have synergy with each other. But I like them, so I pulled for them and tried to get them LC and eidolon. If story and event contents were done, I just went to other games or touched the grass and back after new patch released.
yep time to just enjoy the story clear what you can clear and max out the units we already have, i did the same with genshin.
The only unviable character rn is seele, ratio is still viable
HSR only gives 20 extra pulls in an update on average compared to genshin while also releasing 2 new characters per patch and introducing quad banners in Just 2.X life cycle also 4stars in HSR suck balls they are no where near to the 4stars in genshin in terms of value and no it’s not just 1.0 4stars of genshin even the new 5.3 4star lanyan is said to be a good shielder who is competing with zhongli while also being a VV resistance shredder combine that with TTDS Atk buff she’s literally an s tier unit
The resin reserve system in HSR means no shit because if you’re a returning player you have to build more than 5-6 new characters to clear the content as a F2P and the 2400 resin reserve can only help you to barely build one character meanwhile in genshin if you’re currently able to clear abyss and took a 6 months break and come back you can still clear the content with the same team
Genshin's 4 stars are insane, in HSR there's Pela, Gallagher and maybe Tingyun, that's it.

(Just also gonna say this team also has a lot of DMG Bonus up stats meaning with 0% Glacio Res, the damage gap gets even bigger)
WuWa atm endgame is volatile for 2.0, so something for you and others to ponder.
Feixiao already struggles because current MoC is AoE shilling
Thought it was just me
I was running a Feixiao + Yunli comp because of this😭
Are we playing the same game? She destroy both sides of MoC bro wth?????
@@MiZZpe1l3dWhen she came out she cleared moc faster than Acheron and any other dps for a while. The last few mocs tho Acheron has been outperforming again. She is still 100% able to clear, mine personally only tskes one more cycle compared to my Acheron, but it’s true mocs are going to be more aoe focused so she will begin to struggle (as her best team is all single target) . Not saying she’s bad, I will never regret her and it will eventually go back to single target (if we don’t have another stronger hunt character by then)
I could clear MoC 11 with Boothill (with HMC, Sunday and Gally) but God, MoC 12 is killing me. I can't do it
Players are being told to keep buying the solutions to a problem that the game has created. This simple truth makes me wonder where HSR will be in the future.
Make balanced characters and the content doesn't have to be hard
Making op characters make whales pull for them and max everything E6S6 and you want the content to keep up with a max character and don't forget about +15 op relics
This is exactly why “pull supports” is not the slam dunk argument people think that it is
@@axHSR those sparkle simps just cannot accept that their favourite has become like silver wolf who being useless at their on path.
(I do mainly mean Sunday with his Sig as otherwise Sparkle is still more SP positive so has some relevance there if you’re playing someone like QQ or other SP heavy teams)
@@Tiny_LightTBHKyou are right...anyway..dont expect a big brain from the one above he might hate sparkle too much for probably stupid reason...when shes still meta and can clear end game...
Funnily enough, Sparkle’s best use case now is to run her *WITH* Sunday in no sustain teams 💀
You're not a player base, sorry. You're just a brainless whiner who thinks his words make at least some sense.
So unless they powercreep her 235+ spd + weakness implant on one character then shes fairly safe
i don't understand why anyone is celebrating dpses powercreeping each other. like people are HAPPY that fugue entirely changed the positions of the break dpses, the endgame not being ST friendly (feixiao being the main victim), or the fact that herta straight up powercreeps EVERYONE.
i liked what they did with jing yuan. they made a new character to HELP him, but because he's an old character, they're also releasing a new character who is slightly better than him. however, he is still better than her in one of the endgame modes (pf)
i get that some old characters really don't have niches they can do much with (seele for example. her resurgence just has to be made a fua and that fixes a lot of her problems ngl. it's a kit problem) but there are characters whose niche they can make use of (blade and jingliu) but they seem to just be powercreeping them (idk what castorice will do, but mydei is seriously just everything blade should've been)
moc is an endgame mode for whatever gameplay type the current banner's characters play. that's fair.
apoc is for break meta
pf is for aoe meta
what about ST, dot, etc?
ST has high scaling dpses like feixiao, boothill and even topaz (although she's more like a sub dps)
dot? hopeless for now, cannot do ANYTHING in apoc
the rest? they will just get powercrept when the gameplay types actually get their moment
imo, they really just need to make new characters that can indirectly help old characters as well as new ones. they need to make new endgame modes where a particular gameplay type dominates so that no one feels like their high investment characters can't clear anything
D.o.T gets massively buffed in APOC vs Phantalyia.

I think for the most part that CC’s take has more nuance to it but they worded it in the worst possible way to farm engagement lol
I think what he probably meant is something like, “HSR is a game about synergy and teambuilding. While sometimes you can pull for aesthetics, sometimes you have to make the compromise to pull for synergy, if you ignore synergy for design, you did it to yourself"
I thought it was bait until i saw him doubling down in the replies 😬
Of course hsr is a game about teambuilding but if youre a f2p or low spender theres a good chance you wont be able to get all the synergies you need, and even by then theres a good chance it already got powercrept
Sparkle was the first NEW character I got, I'd just started playing and had just picked up DHIL and she was the first time there was a new character I was excited to pull and now she's already been power crept (yes I know DHIL has been too but I have too much invested in him to not be delusional about him)
How to fix HsR:
- Delete the games
- Don't argue with MrPokke
- Do play any games, since we will have better new games and they are turnbased.
The praise/relief they would get if a next MoC for some reason has lowered hp on bosses, newer players would feel powerful for once, older players would be able to use their older units again, have more fun again- that doesn’t make it less challenging, but it makes it possible without super invested characters with optimized relics etc
Edit bc I couldn’t spell “life”
I 100% agree with you and it makes me wonder what they could do to fix this issue.
The powercreep also restricted interesting clears, I used to goof around w/ Misha against True Sting for the sake of approaching the fight in a more interesting manner
But w/ how the hp inflation has gone, I have to constantly drag Acheron and Firefly to brute force their way through MoC despite wanting to use some of my other units like Welt, Qingque and Kafka
While they clearly aren't efficient, I just miss having fun w/ units I tend to like and spend months building on, just for them to completely collect dust as they can't pull it off as they once did
I mean how many times am I going to see how busted Sunday and Robin duo is going to be, and how SB is out there w/ Ruan Mei, HMC and Gallagher / Lingsha + SB DPS, and the entire FuA squad
You can't goof around and approach things differently as they once did
Blade absolutely is in absolute need of a buff of sorts, back then I run him along w/ Jingliu since it felt cool how the two somewhat synergies together
The constant need of the next iPhone due to it having higher specs than the other is a weird analogy on how units are being required for the latest MoC
And lord, please... buff DoT.. while Blade is in tears, he can benefit from the new supports... while Kafka has become a debuff generator for Acheron..
I think we shouldn’t focus on power creep regarding to character but rather focus on the issue of how they make new enemies with massive hp
or rather they make it easier for us to build character like be able for us to customize the substats or something.
As a day one player i learned something from this game
“fuck the meta im still maining seele”
I haven’t pulled on a character for over a year
The power creep in this game is getting out of hand.
And then Jingliu just trash both of them :x
What a ride from 1.0 to 1.4 When 1.0 you get like seele and JY ( which basically has a lots of issues till Sunday )
Then whole 1.1 is support/healer
Next 2 version, the DPS just out performance each other.
I think it will be good if they put like mechanics like that one aventurine boss more than putting more life to the bosses
I already quit the game after the last 3 months. Don't waste your time or your money people. Hoyo does not respect it.
You know it’s bad when my f2p e6 s1 kafka will struggle to clear moc 12 comparing to a e0 s0 feixiao
This is the worst informed comment section on this topic and I thought that'd be impossible.
Yk they’re doing that right? In 3.0 they’re giving us an item that’ll let us reroll substats
@@moriartyarchive4033 yes but a very limited amount and there is no guarantee that the reroll will be any good
Both Genshin Impact and Star Rail have their pros and cons. However Star Rail is starting to have more cons.
I really want to know what it is they have out for players who need gems the most but have to go through the most insane slogs imaginable every few weeks because they feel the game still needs to be difficult for overpowered teams they created
we should put powercreep complain on the survey then
Thank you for making this video.
Genshin could never pull off this shit
ToF’s powercreep makes this powercreep look like a joke, but yeah it still feels so bad 🗿
I mean who tf even plays ToF
It get annoying how much hp the enemy get
I’m a 1.0 player and days before the game launched there was a MASSIVE leak for upcoming 5* (even Dr.
Oh yeah didn't that list end up leaking almost every character up until Feixiao or something?
@reshmin1760 Yup, the list was very accurate!
I agree.....i cant clear even with all the good harmonies and some of the better teams. But i can't 36* endgame cause i simply dont have the best teams in the game at e2s1,HSR is a whale game change my mind
There are plenty of F2P that are clearing all the end game modes max rewards consistently.
A large part of those players are 1.0-1.3 players.
Current MoC is tailored for both Herta and Aglea.
how is hoolay for feixiao? explain. he's for YUNLI
Well it's obvious that's their intention , but it's like become more extreme lately ?
like upping the requirement , like even if people who have characters that help with the fight ,
but if they didn't invest into Lightcone and Eidolon they would still have a hard time ?
