Great videos, been working on my samurai 12 years, just picked up my second samurai jx se, very nice to refresh my knowledge and check out other people's tips and trick, one suggestion about the videos, the music is too loud during the points where you talk.

Today put a Spartan Locker in my rear differential and your build videos were most helpful. Will be tuning into your channel for tips! Thanks...

I'm glad that helped. I literally just test drove the Samurai with a new Spartan I. The rear today. Do you hear a lot of loud pops with yours?

Just put the locker in today. Waiting on brake parts and bearing kit before I can wheel it. Guessing it will pop some. Will let you know👍

Getting back to you on my rear Spartan locker install. Finally got brake parts, bearing kit. Put it all together and got a short test drive in. Definitely got some popping on turns especially in low range. Not as noticeable in 2wd or 4 high. It is nice to have the added traction. Planning on a front end axle upgrade and will put a Spartan up front as well.
Are you happy with the Spartan Locker up front? I have Yoda power steering so guessing it will work for me🤔

I’m a journeyman mechanic and OCD when taking things apart isn’t a bad thing. Use a center punch when you mark bearing caps and what not. They don’t wipe off.

That's a good idea, I sometimes do that too!

after watching that blazer I kinda think it would be ideal to have a spartan or lockright front and back. I currently run a minispool in the rear and an open diff in the front. and talking to more experienced people than myself they say mini spool in the rear and mechanical locker in the front is the best setup. I'm currently about to setup my cousins samurai like mine. anyway i just discovered you channel and I see a lot of interesting videos because we are doing similar things to our samurais.

For off road only its hard to beat spools front and rear, because of their reliability and performance. My first time driving the Samurai with the spool in the rear, I instantly noticed the reduction in turning radius. Also, look at the tire marks left on my driveway!

yeah I understand and thats why I have a minispool in the rear and im setting the other sammy up the same way. mini-spool has no moving parts. I'm not a big fan of lunch box lockers but it seems to be the only option. theres a russian made torsen style diff for like 600 but the application doesn't match up it says 86-95 but said like 28 spline axles and i don't think you can return it. it doesn't add up, then theres the 1000 dollar arb. just for the diff carrier so yeah spartan locker in the front.

It's not hard to do with basic hand tools (been working on samurai's since I was 18) it's good to know how to work on your oven rig💚

Nice video's. I have an '84 samurai. I also want to rebuild it. I have more engine problems and my chassis is broken, because the previous owner didnt lift it right. Any tips for that? ;)

These engines can be tricky. I would recommend asking specific questions on the Samurai 2.0 Facebook Group. They were a lot of help to me!
