I’m from Jamaica and I watched him play for the 1st time in 96 CL final vs Ajax and he became my favorite international player and Juve became my 2nd favorite international club team after Liverpool. I stopped supporting Juve after they signed CR7 but still a fan of The fantastic #10.
Del Piero was still producing when he was played. He could have been there two more years without a hassle. On a side note the ESPN crew are still in awe of him and everyone's listening without interupting.

Alessandro Del Piero will always be my favorite Juve player, and it was painful to watch the way he was forced out. I have always thought that it was Antonio Conte who forced Alex out of Juve in the end despite the fact that they played together at Juve. But the fact that he danced around the subject of not going to a Juve game in Turin makes me wonder if it was was someone else - like maybe Andrea Agnelli (of course this idea could be a product of my distaste for most things that Agnelli has done over the last three seasons...).
In 2011, Agnelli wanted to force Del Piero out of the club citing that Del Piero was asking too much money. But, Del Piero publicly responded by saying that he would play for free for Juve. Since then Agnelli dislike Del Piero. BTW Del Piero deserves to be President of Juve.

RE Del Piero not attending a game at Juventus Stadium yet, when he left Juve he wanted to stay but the Juventus president Agnelli disrespected him with the negotiations and didn’t appreciate all that he has done for the club, staying when they were relegated,. In the end the departure left a bitter taste but still his relationship with the Club itself and the fans can never be tarnished.

But the fact that he danced around the subject of not going to a Juve game in Turin makes me wonder if it was was someone else - like maybe Andrea Agnelli (of course this idea could be a product of my distaste for most things that Agnelli has done over the last three seasons...).
In 2011, Agnelli wanted to force Del Piero out of the club citing that Del Piero was asking too much money. But, Del Piero publicly responded by saying that he would play for free for Juve. Since then Agnelli dislike Del Piero. BTW Del Piero deserves to be President of Juve.

ikr, well he has lived in Australia for a couple of years and moved to California for a while so it's understandable.
I watched a Japanese TV show back in 98 where his English is only limited to a few single words. It is impressive that he can pick up a new language in his 30s which is not easy.
RE Del Piero not attending a game at Juventus Stadium yet, when he left Juve he wanted to stay but the Juventus president Agnelli disrespected him with the negotiations and didn’t appreciate all that he has done for the club, staying when they were relegated,. In the end the departure left a bitter taste but still his relationship with the Club itself and the fans can never be tarnished.
Having a legend there makes these commentaries much much better...

I watched Del Piero’s 1st game for Juventus all the way to his last, we all wished he stayed longer but Juventus will always be Del Piero and Del Piero will always be Juventus, a real fan cannot and will not separate the 2, and don’t forget when Juventus was relegated he was hugely in demand in Europe but he STAYED and played in serie B (alongside Gigi Buffon and Pavel Nedved) & helped them get back to serie A .
