@@boy_ka84 Yes, go to power rangers official on youtube. They are slowly uploading complete episodes on the page. They have a large number of the series uploaded already.
I maintain that Kendrix never died. I think the blast knocked her out of space-time, possibly into the Morphin Grid itself. The state Kendrix was in seemed to be similar to what the Sentinel Knight was dealing with. When they returned the Quasar Sabers to the stone, the restoration of balance allowed her to slip back through.
That's a fascinating theory. Learning that the Morphin Grid is universal from Operation Overdrive, it's possible that Kendrix was transported there, after destroying the Savage Sword.
Since seeing Beast Morphers finale, I pretty much figured out that what happened to Steel then, is what happened to Kendrix. Still doesn't take away how dark it was.
They Should have killed them all off and end this show completely with the bad guys winning that’s what they need to do 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏽🤪🤣😂🤣 stupid show so B rated
I'd personally put Zordon's death at #1. Like you said, we got to know this cosmic mentor to a lot of rangers for over half a decade. To see him make the ultimate sacrifice, and to have a close friend do it, was a very emotional moment. Watching every big bad in the galaxy we've seen up to this point get hit by his energy wave and either be transformed or destroyed really brought this years long epic saga to a close.
You can't look at Zordon's death as a single moment or being. This was a character who was the essence of hope of the Power Rangers franchise up until that point. As ranger teams changed and moved on from season to season, Zordon was that constant figure of Good to stand against Evil. His sacrifice was like the death of everything the Power Rangers stood for. It wasn't just Zordon that we lost, there was much more symbolically dying with him.
@@ReederMG You can when comparing which moment is darker. Yes, Zordon's death was sad, but it destroyed a lot of evil/put a lot of good into the universe. Meanwhile, RPM was literally a post apocalyptic world, where billions of people had been killed by the villain. That's darker than Zordon's death, despite the show itself tending to gloss over the situation and stick to more lighthearted story material.
For six seasons, Zordon was a father figure to several Rangers and sacrificed himself for the sake of the universe. Not only did his death brought a season to its close, but it also brought an era he started to an unforgettable yet heartbreaking end.
Lost Galaxy and Time Force have the greatest plots ever, mature characters and scenes. I wish they had keep the young adult essence of their original Sentai sources in the next generations.
Still think when it comes to which was a more efficient story and one that doesn't follow the generic pattern as was done in previous seasons, RPM does it best.
Well Hasbro just recently acquired Power Rangers for 522 million dollars. And I think they are working to make a Netflix special on the original cast for a mature audience. So that will be interesting. I kind of grown out of power rangers, its mainly for kids. But if they made one for adults and mature teens, I would definitely watch it.
I've always respected children movies and series that wasn't afraid to include darker themes when that makes for a better story. I haven't seen Power Rangers when I was a child but this movie here only shows what a great show it was.
15:13 I didn't notice this until rewatching this moment but before Mirloc's relefection in Sky's tear shows him grinning like a mad man, that is a nice detail that I never noticed.
she left an impression for sure, and it all started when they came back from a galaxy far away. She destroyed those pirates villains like nothing, and who doesn't love a bad guy vs bad guy scene.
Same goes for Dana from light speed rescue. During time for lightspeed dana's actress is sick. So that's why during her ranger form her kyah sounds like Katherine Hilliard from zeo

The tragedy of Trakeena is that she didn't have to be that way. The general mentioned was also her mentor in combat, someone she went to specifically to become strong enough to help her father, and who joined her because he saw her potential as an honorable leader. She proved worthy of that faith until the traitor Deviot dragged her into this cocoon thing meant to empower those who enter it, destroying himself and corrupting Trakeena in the process. A descent into dishonor and destruction followed, almost Macbeth-like in nature
She wasn't even...all bad. Well she's bad but she wasn't all terrible during the first half of the lost galaxy series until Scorpio's is destroyed. During the first half she spent half of the series living under Scorpius shadow almost doing nothing except looking for the lights. It isn't until she started damage by stealing beauties and after scorpius died that she became virtually more dangerous. In fact first-22 episodes trakeena is much better than astronema (after she gained red hair) even tho trakeena has no development whatsoever
It makes a lot of sense both in regards to budget, and they are clearly military styled uniforms without any explicit connection to any real military. Very handy for sci-fi and media that doesn't get pentagon funding and assistance/oversight.
For me the darkest moment/storyline was the whole Karone/Andros storyline. She was kidnapped as a child and raised Evil, then when she realizes who she really is, and even her evil father figure Ecliptor is willing to let her go, the forces of Evil take them both back by force and reprogram their brains. Luckily the Zordon Wave saved her, but I always thought it sucked how it just destroyed Ecliptor. Ecliptor was definitely my favorite General villain.
There’s a Power Rangers comic that shows what happens with Karone after the events of Lost Galaxy. That comic is Power Rangers The Psycho Path which throws Psycho Green back into the mix after he’s been MIA after Zordon’s first Ranger Team defeated him on the Moon after Dark Specter sent him to rescue Rita when he learned Rita had stolen the Green Power Coin from Zordon.
I seriously feel bad for Karone when Ecliptor died, he was the only family she had growing up, I mean Ecliptor could've just turned good and at the end becomes a true father to her and Andros
Yeah, he was one of the first really formidable side villains to. And the first one of actually honorable villains. He had a great redemption qualities and it's really a shame he was just destroyed. It shouldn't be this way. I mean I didn't thought about this very much but... it really sucked. I think if I would be able to change one thing in Power Rangers in Space... it would be the final fate of Ecliptor. He deserved to be saved. (And surely was more fitting for that than Zedd, Rita or Divatox. And in the long term only the case of Rita eventually had some purpose(her becoming the Mystical Mother... and still getting headaches:D))
I remember a lot of these episodes. I forgot some of them but the toughest ones stick with you no matter what. The mature themes were an important aspect of the shows and could still have relevance today. I actually didn't know that Valerie Vernon (Kendrix) had actually been dealing with a real world disease and it definitely drives home her character arc's importance. Power Rangers still holds a special place with me, and I hope it continues to inspire.
I'm genuninly happy that Valerie was able to recover fast enough to return for the finally, but I say they could've used that for some sort of after-series special, I imagine it could've happened like; the remains of Astronema's evil empire under a new ruler more powerful than Astronema or Trekena have somehow captured Kendrix's soul and the rangers have a limited time to save her or else her soul will be destroyed. At the end Kendrix is revived
Did you know that had the transition to Disney not been made and Cole's parents needed to not be dead, it would have been revealed that Jindrax and Toxica were Cole's parents transformed into Orgs.
There are a lot of moments that were darker than what’s on this list. Most notably, the destruction of the Thunder Zords. Seeing that as a kid is seared in my memory
Other darker moments that weren’t on the list were the destruction of the Command Center and Power Chamber, and the reversal effect in the final episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
@@michaelmonthey5974 I suppose this list isn't recent enough, but Amelia's backstory in the recent Dino Fury, aswell as just Zayto's history and ultimate finale in the last episode are probably both worthy of mention in a list on some of the potentially darker moments in the show, even if these sequences are displayed more flashy than gritty.
Honorable mentions: - Frax's origin (Time Force) - young Karone is kidnapped (In Space) - Trakeena kills Villamax (Lost Galaxy) - Captain Mitchell's deal with Diabolico (Lightspeed Rescue) - The entire season finale (Time Force) - Kimberly and Jason "die" in Maligore's pit (Turbo: A Power Rangers movie)
Actually SPD was made up of various Ranger Factions. If you read Soul Of The Dragon you’ll see at the end how Tommy’s Son JJ gets Tommy’s Green Ranger Powers.
For years I thought that SPD was a direct sequel of Time Force, but sadly it wasn't. That was the result of a budget cut as Disney didn't wanted to spend money to make the suit for Sky's father as he was going to appear on just 1 episode, so they decided to use Red Time Force Ranger's suit as a replacement for the scenes. Something similar happened with the A-Squad, their suits were recycled, that's why their helmets were similar to the ones used by the Space Rangers in PR In Space, oh yeah and they painted the helmet of the black ranger so it looks green lmao
I thought his dad was Wes and his mother was Jen to be honest but then I realized Jen and Wes couldn’t be in the same timeline because of chances of time alteration and time paradoxes which still bothers me
@@tjhooker824 agreed. He tried to help Ransik out of the kindness of his heart, nearly got killed by Ransik, became a cyborg to get revenge on Ransik, mocked nadira when she said that she wasn’t sure if she hated humans anymore, realized that she meant it after she apologized to him for what Ransik did, urged her to break the cycle of hatred, got lobotomized, and died after the rangers destroyed doomtron. He was a good man that got broken by Ransik but still had enough humanity left in the end to encourage nadira to not give into hatred, his encouragement not only caused nadira to redeem herself but indirectly caused Ransik to do the same since nadira got Ransik to see the good in humans after he nearly killed her accidentally while she was protecting a baby and trying to find its parents. part of me wonders if the baby that nadira rescued in the finale was the same baby that she helped deliver 1-2 episodes beforehand.
When Nadera apologized for her father his true self said " there is hope for her" that hit me hard next to kendrix "dying" and I put air quotes cuz we know why kendrix was killed off because in the middle of the season they found out she had cancer so they killed her off and turned her into the ranger equivalent of a force ghost she got an unexplained return because near the end of the season they found out she was in remmison and because of that entire thing the cancer to the remmison gets a pass in terms of not explaining it because cancer is no joke
The number 19 spot is definitely the one that I would go with. When I first watched it on Netflix (R.I.P 95% of the entire Power Rangers franchise on Netflix) it was not an episode that I was wishing to come back too.
Top 3 (In my opinion): 1. Doctor K unintentionally starts an apocalypse 2. Magna Defender's past 3. Kendrix's sacrifice The fact that Doctor K tried to use a virus against the government to go outside causing it to destroy human population is so dark, it was darker than most tv shows. Magna's past was a literal gut wrenching, so dark and sad, he had guts and anger to get vengeance, it's so hard to watch someone lose their children. And the behind the scenes for Kendrix's sacrifice sounded horrible, it would be even worse if the actress died from the disease, thankfully she survived, and that's good.
they really could've made a conclusion movie for lost galaxy revolved around Kendrix and Karone Like the remains of Karone's evil empire have captured Kendrix's soul and at the end Karone finally finds fogiveness in herself and Kendrix is brought back to life
I'm hoping we get a list of darkest Super Sentai moments. As Super Sentai has plenty of dark moments to choose from such as the Green Ranger dying in Zhuranger, the various innocent civilians killed by the Psycho Rangers in various graphic, and sadistic fashion in Megaranger, and Tama actually admitting him and the Green Ryusoul Ranger prior to meeting up with Koh and the others had actually killed humans possessed by Minosaurs in Ryusoulger.
The darkest moment I've seen from Super Sentai was the death of Yellow Four from Chodenshi Bioman. This was the moment I realized Japan is not afraid to tell dark stories. Then found out Toei had to work on that unexpected predicament due to the Y4 actor left the series.
@@cassiopeia36 Oh one infamous dark moment from Timeranger was the supposed death and return of Alex's sentai counter-part. Basically what happened was the Timefire Red Ranger who held the role before the actual main one much like his Timeforce counterpart seemingly died during the opening moments of the Timeranger pilot episode, but just like Alex would seemingly come back to life due to "plot reasons" but unlike Alex who came back as jerk commander who got likeable later the previous Timefire Red Ranger came back as villain and remained that way until if I remember correctly his 2nd death.
Number 1 darkest super Sendai moment is the 6th ranger always dies 1. Mikoto nakadai as the white Dino ranger 2. Shurikenger as the green samurai ranger 3. Naoto as the quantum ranger 4. Whoever played the green mmpr in zyuranger
Have to say, the story with Valerie Vernon was a deep one for me because of her real life backstory. I actually teared up when she said "I'm okay. I'll always be here". So glad she recovered to. I think Zordon's sacrifice was the darkest for me. He was there at the beginning.
As a kid, I got into Power Rangers during season 2 and I was very intensely into the Thunder Zords, specially the Red Dragon. The moment Rito destroyed the Thunder Megazord and the White Tigerzord shocked me to my core and made me cry my eyes out. Might have been the first time I tasted what felt like an crushing irreversible loss in a silly kids' show.
@@your_local_luxury Super Sentai has plenty of dark moments, but Kamen Rider is even darker, and Garo can be summed up as "Devil May Cry but darker and with nearly NO humor", and Metal Heroes went from dark to too light hearted before dying off for good.
I actually really appreciate Ransik's story. He's not just evil for sake of being evil, he's evil because people rejected him for the accident of his birth, something he had literally no control over. It reminds of what one critic said about the CG Beowulf movie: "in the poem they're outcasts because they're bad, in the film they're bad because they're outcasts".
Lost Galaxy and RPM are easily the most u nerving and different from the other shows. The twists and things that happened in those shows were dark, unnerving, but also some of the best writing. Those are my two favorite shows in the franchise!
@@nealsmall9316 i did wild force, lost galaxzy.rangers in space and time force had the best storyline especially when ryan the villian turned out to be the pink rangers brother and the captains son he had to make a deal with a monster to save his life and every time he transforms the monster cursed him soge ingrained in him a tatoo tatoo would activate killing him little by little power rangers was great even when it was on jetix back in the day but now that's it's on nickeloeneon it's been a bit watered down the last time i watched it was some years ago...
and Don't forget Rei's entire role in the season, and I can't forget the entire episode with Grey's little robot trying despretely to get Maria back to hem
Zordon’s Sacrifice will always be the top of the Power Rangers feels. His death was the end of my childhood as it happened the year I graduated high school. I tried to keep an eye on the Rangers through my younger cousins & later on nephews over the years, but nothing comes close to getting my attention like Zordon telling Andros to destroy his containment tube so that the magic keeping him alive can be released to save the universe. It was as if he was telling all the kids that grew up on Power Rangers during that final montage that we’ll be okay even as the show ends & he’ll still remain with us. 🥲🥲 But I guess causing the apocalypse by creating the Sigma virus so that Reploids rule the world because she was a child prisoner seeking freedom is darker than the main hero killing his mentor to save everybody 🤷🏾♂️🙃
This wasnt remotely depressing. If Zordon had been killed by one of the original members who knew he many many many years longer, this would have had more impact. Im not sure if its bad acting or if the producers wanted it this way but when Zordon explains why Andros must kill him Andros is just like ok. Andros sounds to positive. And thats that. It could have had a better chance at having any emotional affect if it had been any other ranger period. Andros is the worst Power Ranger ever. He is also the biggest failure as a leader.
I'm surprised Darkonda abducting Karone wasn't on here. Like that's literal kidnapping, and she was brainwashed into evil! I remember rewatching In Space in my late teens early 20s and being shocked that they allowed THAT in a Power Rangers series
Deker was one of my favorite antagonists for Power Rangers. There was also an alternate ending for Forever Red where Jason sacrifices himself for the others. I liked how in the crossover episode of Wild Force and Time Force Ransik becomes normal. I also like how in the Power Rangers Comics the Origins of Terra Venture are revealed.
Now I understand why Andrew Hartford first refuse to let Mack become a ranger. It could be for Either of these reasons 1. He cares about Mack that he doesn't want him to get hurt 2. He's afraid the truth would be revealed if Mack was damaged during battle and the damage would reveal Mack's system No matter how mediocre/terrible this series is, this moment makes all the more satisfying to rewatch
Kendrix’s death was shocking and sad but yellow rangers Tatas +21:56 wiped away all their present thoughts and emotions immediately lol man that yellow ranger was shmoookin
As a kid this was just good writing, stories can't just be ups, they need their downs. I loved Power Rangers for this, and parents today need to stop treating their kids like babies, they need to start letting them grow up. Edit: You left out the darkest part about Dr. K's story, she wasn't just taken by Alphabet Soup, she was kidnapped by them from her family.
This. So much this. There's no way any parent can sanitize 100% of the media their children consume, and kids are smarter than anyone seems to give them credit for. They can sniff out context, ask questions until they're hoarse, and they'll fact-check by asking the same questions to different teachers, family members, etc. Sometimes kids' shows need to show that sometimes you can do everything right and still fail, that sometimes they'll lose something or someone they care about, and what really matters is to find ways to cope, keep going in life, and overcome adversity.
@@pilot8220 No it’s a different universe but at the end of RPM Venjix had downloaded himself into one of the RPM morphers and in the Beast Morphers universe a kid genius decides to experiment with Morphing energy and snake DNA using the RPM Morpher which gave Venjix new Life.
I only saw the original power rangers, but nothing trumps when a power ranger dies in real life. That's the ultimate grim next to someone you love that dies.
I'm a 90s kid and never watched Power Rangers. When i see these lists, i think, damn i really REALLY must've missed out as a kid. Almost makes me want to watch Power Rangers for the first time as an adult
Fun fact:I start watching spacetoon as a kid and kinda remembers some of the old shows spacetoon was my first channel to watch before I even found out about cn
That was dark but not as dark as the story of Fraxx, the poor guy did nothing to deserve the horrifying fate that he got. At least fraxx got some redemption before his death
They also forgot that Eric was about to kill notacon bc he's a mutant. That was also dark. If it weren't for trips zybrian revelation who knows how far Eric would go
@@bryancarson5908 he was in a lose lose situation, it was either hand his son to the demon and they all survive or refuse and all three fall to their deaths
Great list, but once again an underrated Jungle Fury episode is left out. The episode where Jarrod/Dai Shi begins training with the sky overlord Carnisaur, he is literally taken into his own mind where in an effort to erase Jarrod's humanity, many of his childhood memories are replaced with alternate darker outcomes. This was always dark and creepy to me (especially wondering what was going on, if this was just all in his mind or if Carnisaur was actually taking Jarrod back in time) but both times it has been left out of Mojo videos, first in the original top 10 darkest moments and now this one.
What makes the lost galaxy finale even darker is that it's a pre 9/11 scene. The tragedy affected time force since a lot of the scenes with the Quantasaurus were edited because of 9/11.
Growing up, the Ransik stuff definitely caught my attention. Lightspeed Rescue will always be my favorite, but Time Force will always be special to me because of that episode. I think it might have been the first time I ever understood a villain.
Ironically, having comically evil villains means they're willing to inflict the cruelest of tortures on the rangers at times even if it would make much more sense to go for the ki-destroy.
Dude I grew up watching power rangers, I had no idea he died until I saw this comment. That sucks man as much as I hated his character in the show, the actor was so cool. Rest In Peace man what the fuckkkk
I'm honestly surprised there weren't more moments from Power Rangers RPM on this list. There was a surprising number of somber deaths and moments in that season. Granted, Time and Wild Force had more moments, but still.
For me, there were two moments that I always remember: 1) The destruction of the Command Center by Lord Zedd. 2) The destruction of the Command Center and Zordon's near-death outside of his tube in the first Power Rangers movie. Honorable mention is every time a series transition happened, and the Rangers lost both their powers and their Zords.
Thanks for sharing. I wondered what happened to Zordon and why he suddenly disappeared. All that time looking for the mentor and then nothing....now I understand it after all this time....thank you.
There were a lot more dark moments throughout the series. Would've been nice to hear some honorable mentions like Titanium Ranger's from Lightspeed Rescue or Mesogog and Zeltrax's backstory from Dino Thunder
I'm not going to lie Master org coming back in the finale was definitely the highlight of power rangers wild Force it felt like the world was coming to an end
That and master org was one of the darkest power rangers villains ever. If I’m not mistaken, he was actually the first main villain to actually kill a family member of one of the rangers and that was when he was still human
@@jakealter5504 power rangers was on a roll with death back to back from Time Force to Wild Force! They definitely took those risks and stepped it up a notch which was pretty dark but amazing writing
If u think the show was Dark it's even More Tragic/Grusomely Darker in RealLife Mojo should do what being on PowerRangers has to the most loved characters to The Actors throughout the years
It's only "Dark" because the Power Ranger shows are a watered down and complete changed stories of the Original Japanese shows. Super Sentai shows are borderline young to adult shows in Japan, they never shy away with death of characters or people on the shows. Some of these shows are completely adult oriented like the Kamen Rider and Garo series.
Wow, the pre-Disney era of Power Rangers had really dark plottwist, the last season I saw was "Wild Force", I believe I lost interest in the series at the right time, seeing what came after that season.
For me there was a moment of sad joy emotion. Don't know if it was Space or Lost Galaxy. But a little girl was about to get crush by rocks until the villain save her. She gave him a flower , the villain treasures it n then it gets crush.
The darkest moment (or would have been moment) would be the original/scrapped ending RPM The ending was called "Ranger Black" In this ending Dillon would have been revealed to be a sleeper agent and that everything about him from his memorries to his sister was all frabricated so the rangers can trust him Dillon would become Venjix's Final Form and the rangers were left with no choice but to Destroy Dillon in order to End the Venjix Virus
I just realized that the armor worn by the characters @2:24 is the same armor worn in the Starship Troopers movie franchise😂I half expected a bug to pop out! Edit: Even that gun is seen in the movie! Crazy how movie/tv props get re-used and many of us barely recognize it. I think there is one prop that was notoriously used in scifi movies and had its own youtube video made about it.
Considering you cover anime, Godzilla and Power Rangers, I’d love to see you guys cover more actual Tokuatsu like Gamera, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Metal Heroes. But a last that’s only a pipe dream 😢
now you got me thinking of a power rangers endgame; -since it's the same actor they can say it was Cole (Wild force red) instead of Deker -Lord Drakkon can be Thanos -Tommy; And I... am... the green ranger *snap*
a decent list of the darker moments of a long going franchise, was wondering when RPM was gonna make the list as that entire season was dark right up to the season finale, as for the death of Zordon... that and what happens in that entire scene is very dark all on its own and for a show that at the time was getting canceled they went out with a bang that a later season 20 years later tried and poorly forgot the events entirely... also for being one of the more mature and dark seasons timeforce only had a few mentions vs lost galaxy which had more moments some of which post 9/11 have had scenes edited out of them for obvious reasons... not a bad list sadly stopped watching mainly post disney as it became next to impossible to find the show til years later and i moved over into watching the sentai counterparts which has some very dark moments, they should make a list of those moments as for a kids show in another country they tackle death quite a bit and not just in general but main core rangers die flat out...
The thing with Ransik if Jen is to be believed is people tried to help him, but he turned them away. Hell, his life was saved from another Mutant by the doctor who transformed himself into Frax after Ransik nearly killed him.
After the Green Candle incident, Tommy managed to get his Green Ranger powers back for a short time before becoming the White Ranger, that's two things that lightened the blow from Number 20.
"Dark"est moments on power rangers..... Maybe I don't feel these are dark since I'm used to Sentai.... The only ones that I felt was kinda sad was 8 and 4.
Can we just take a moment to acknowledge that the PR Lost Galaxy producers got ahold of the Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry armor and rifles? That felt good seeing the unintended reference.
The Operation Overdrive storyline where the kid is an android always pops up in my head randomly. Overdrive was super campy and tried to take itself a little too serious at times so when this actually deep ass storyline just kind of starts trickling down to the reveal it was like dang... They went there.
I think you mean Operation Overdrive. RPM is about a computer virus taking over the world leading to an apocalypse that leaves billions dead and the last of humanity in a domed city.
Also Andros learning she's Astronama. Then the finale where she "dies" after a blast and strikes her in the back. Zordon's magic still in the air Andro's tears revive her from death and her state of being mind controlled
Frax’s Final Punishment Tired of his series of failures, Ransik orders Frax’s humanity wiped and reprogrammed as a full robot. While being carried off, Frax shouts to Nadira, that she has the power to change her life, a power he thought he gave up. That’s all he could do and we knew what was next for him.
Idk. I think being basically a government guinea pig and having to live with the fact your creation that you made in an attempt to gain freedom ended up costing the lives of countless innocents is pretty dark.
Despite Mike and Alex's seeming deaths and what happened to Kendrix and Zordon, when the rangers lose their powers and their zords and their arch enemy has grown, then you know things are seriously serious!!!! As for Mack, his mood shows his humanity. Power Rangers Lost Galaxy is a new era because there is no lead as to how they meet or how they get their powers. The fact that Mike, who was clearly meant to be Red Ranger, seems to die in the second episode, shows us that sometimes people have to die for the greater good, so they could escape, and later sacrifices his powers to escape the Lost Galaxy, and Kendrix death to save Cassie and others from the Savage Sword, it reminds us that Power Rangers are still mortals and can be killed like we can. It reminds us how different and alike we are. When push comes to shove, we can all be Power Rangers!!

Watching every big bad in the galaxy we've seen up to this point get hit by his energy wave and either be transformed or destroyed really brought this years long epic saga to a close.
Zordon is still one being, and his death ended a lot of evil. Meanwhile, RPM's background is that Venjix killed BILLIONS of people.
would you really put Zordon, a single entity, being killed for the greater good as a darker moment than the annihilation of the entire human race?

The saddest part about Kendrix’s death is that the actress had leukemia.

Good man
One of the darkest moments for all of us fans. Rest In Peace JDF.
In fact first-22 episodes trakeena is much better than astronema (after she gained red hair) even tho trakeena has no development whatsoever
no matter how "childish" people say the power rangers are. They will always be a badass group fighting to save their planet.
To me the saddest moment when I looked up what happened to the original " yellow ranger"......

Those starship troopers uniforms. Always funny that they reused them everywhere without changing them.
"Would you like to know more?"
Lol it is funny
What if it was the same universe!?
I wished Ecliptor could've been saved as well, because he did watch out for Karone.
@@cooper3814 this is true.
I'm genuninly happy that Valerie was able to recover fast enough to return for the finally, but I say they could've used that for some sort of after-series special,
I imagine it could've happened like;
the remains of Astronema's evil empire under a new ruler more powerful than Astronema or Trekena have somehow captured Kendrix's soul and the rangers have a limited time to save her or else her soul will be destroyed. At the end Kendrix is revived
@@cooper3814 I'm still sad that Jason David Frank is gone 😥
Did you know that had the transition to Disney not been made and Cole's parents needed to not be dead, it would have been revealed that Jindrax and Toxica were Cole's parents transformed into Orgs.
I didn’t realize how dark the Magna Defenders past was as a child. seeing a kid die on a child’s series is very dark
There are a lot of moments that were darker than what’s on this list. Most notably, the destruction of the Thunder Zords. Seeing that as a kid is seared in my memory
What about the story of Fraxx? His backstory was pretty bad
Agreed. That absolutely should have been on the list.
Mine too 😨
Other darker moments that weren’t on the list were the destruction of the Command Center and Power Chamber, and the reversal effect in the final episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Honorable mentions:
- Frax's origin (Time Force)
- young Karone is kidnapped (In Space)
- Trakeena kills Villamax (Lost Galaxy)
- Captain Mitchell's deal with Diabolico (Lightspeed Rescue)
- The entire season finale (Time Force)
- Kimberly and Jason "die" in Maligore's pit (Turbo: A Power Rangers movie)
Captain Mitchell was basically forced to make a deal with the devil in order to save his son
*Jason and Kimberly
The fact sky’s dad was basically a pre-SPD-Time force 😱
I thought his dad was Wes and his mother was Jen to be honest but then I realized Jen and Wes couldn’t be in the same timeline because of chances of time alteration and time paradoxes which still bothers me
I would’ve included fraxx, his story was one of the darkest in the franchise
That was just plain sad.

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Doctor K unintentionally starts an apocalypse
2. Magna Defender's past
3. Kendrix's sacrifice
The fact that Doctor K tried to use a virus against the government to go outside causing it to destroy human population is so dark, it was darker than most tv shows. Magna's past was a literal gut wrenching, so dark and sad, he had guts and anger to get vengeance, it's so hard to watch someone lose their children. And the behind the scenes for Kendrix's sacrifice sounded horrible, it would be even worse if the actress died from the disease, thankfully she survived, and that's good.
they really could've made a conclusion movie for lost galaxy revolved around Kendrix and Karone
Like the remains of Karone's evil empire have captured Kendrix's soul and at the end Karone finally finds fogiveness in herself and Kendrix is brought back to life
I'm hoping we get a list of darkest Super Sentai moments.
Yeah, it needs more attention
I second that.
And don't even get me started on seasons such as Liveman, Dairanger or Timeranger.
Number 1 darkest super Sendai moment is the 6th ranger always dies
1. Mikoto nakadai as the white Dino ranger
2. Shurikenger as the green samurai ranger
3. Naoto as the quantum ranger
Especially that Thunder Megazord was definitely one of best designed and an absolute classic.

Kamen Rider: "Really cute..."
GARO: "The cutest..."

@@your_local_luxury Super Sentai has plenty of dark moments, but Kamen Rider is even darker, and Garo can be summed up as "Devil May Cry but darker and with nearly NO humor", and Metal Heroes went from dark to too light hearted before dying off for good.
Ransik might be the most sympathetic Villain in the entire PR Franchise, and that is why he was redeemed and had a happy ending in Wild Force

But I guess causing the apocalypse by creating the Sigma virus so that Reploids rule the world because she was a child prisoner seeking freedom is darker than the main hero killing his mentor to save everybody 🤷🏾♂️🙃
Well they wanted the series to hit harder than usual... and they manage to create one of the best seasons in Power Rangers history.
I'm hoping one day power rangers gets on the Guinness book of world record for the longest running kid show

I liked how in the crossover episode of Wild Force and Time Force Ransik becomes normal. I also like how in the Power Rangers Comics the Origins of Terra Venture are revealed.
Now I understand why Andrew Hartford first refuse to let Mack become a ranger. It could be for Either of these reasons
1. He cares about Mack that he doesn't want him to get hurt

Jungle fury is one of my favorite. Best part is the badass theme music playing when the rangers are winning
What makes the lost galaxy finale even darker is that it's a pre 9/11 scene. The tragedy affected time force since a lot of the scenes with the Quantasaurus were edited because of 9/11.
And ironically 9/11 was 2 years later since Lost Galaxy was in 1999.
Growing up, the Ransik stuff definitely caught my attention. Lightspeed Rescue will always be my favorite, but Time Force will always be special to me because of that episode. I think it might have been the first time I ever understood a villain.
Rest in peace Jason. I watched this list last night to find you had passed this morning.

I'm honestly surprised there weren't more moments from Power Rangers RPM on this list. There was a surprising number of somber deaths and moments in that season. Granted, Time and Wild Force had more moments, but still.
For me, there were two moments that I always remember:
1) The destruction of the Command Center by Lord Zedd.
2) The destruction of the Command Center and Zordon's near-death outside of his tube in the first Power Rangers movie.

The post-Disney era are actually some of the best, actually
You definitely missed some gems. Jungle Fury, rpm, and spd are pretty good. Imo the quality dropped after mystic force (not counting RPM)
Power Rangers: Ninja Storm I believe came after Wild Force.
Dino Thunder came a couple seasons later.
@@jaysonharris5088 it did. Then after that was Dino Thunder and the return of Tommy.
When looking back on Lost Galaxy, number 19 most likely borrowed the gear from 1997's Starship Troopers. The helmets and armor give it away.
For me there was a moment of sad joy emotion. Don't know if it was Space or Lost Galaxy. But a little girl was about to get crush by rocks until the villain save her. She gave him a flower , the villain treasures it n then it gets crush.
Lost Galaxy It was Vilamax it is what helped push him to speak out against Trakeena
@@Deragon0416 which then led to his brutal death
Yeah sounds about right. Vilamax. Anyways that scene always gets to me, don't know why. But great scene, help little girl.she " I knew youll save me"
Lost galaxy
Lost Galaxy, I feel sorry for Villamax
The darkest moment (or would have been moment) would be the original/scrapped ending RPM
The ending was called "Ranger Black"
In this ending Dillon would have been revealed to be a sleeper agent and that everything about him from his memorries to his sister was all frabricated so the rangers can trust him
Dillon would become Venjix's Final Form and the rangers were left with no choice but to Destroy Dillon in order to End the Venjix Virus
Super Sentai had way more darker scemes than these. Especially in Liveman and Jetman.
That moment when the Power rangers where wearing the Star Ship Troopers Imperial Guard Armour cracks me up.
Yeah the glowing red tubes machine
I thought Im the only one who noticed it
That's like in Forever Red the Machine Army generals were Beetleborg costumes leftover from Big Bad Beetleborgs after it got cancelled.
Anyone else notice the re-used starship troopers gear for the soldiers on the rescue mission? 😅
NGL, I just got confused that the vid I was watching was about Power Rangers when that scene came out.
I was like "why's the mobile infantry here?"
Those things got reused a lot in tons of movies and TV shows. Usually just the helmet...that's the only time I've seen the whole get up get reused!
Good to know that even today Vernon is leukemia free! ♥️
Every time I see that Starship Troopers armor show up in other shows, I'm like that Leonardo DiCaprio meme where he sits up in his chair pointing.
Man I wish netflix still had all the seasons
Considering you cover anime, Godzilla and Power Rangers, I’d love to see you guys cover more actual Tokuatsu like Gamera, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Metal Heroes. But a last that’s only a pipe dream 😢
Deker, Dayu and Serrator are easily the best characters in the Power Rangers Samurai series.
the fact that vendrix is also in beast morphers makes rpm even better
5:45 Never realised Deker got Thanos'd before it was ever a thing.
now you got me thinking of a power rangers endgame;
-since it's the same actor they can say it was Cole (Wild force red) instead of Deker
-Lord Drakkon can be Thanos
-Tommy; And I... am... the green ranger *snap*
a decent list of the darker moments of a long going franchise, was wondering when RPM was gonna make the list as that entire season was dark right up to the season finale, as for the death of Zordon... that and what happens in that entire scene is very dark all on its own and for a show that at the time was getting canceled they went out with a bang that a later season 20 years later tried and poorly forgot the events entirely... also for being one of the more mature and dark seasons timeforce only had a few mentions vs lost galaxy which had more moments some of which post 9/11 have had scenes edited out of them for obvious reasons... not a bad list sadly stopped watching mainly post disney as it became next to impossible to find the show til years later and i moved over into watching the sentai counterparts which has some very dark moments, they should make a list of those moments as for a kids show in another country they tackle death quite a bit and not just in general but main core rangers die flat out...
They could have just gotten this whole list from the In Space, Lost Galaxy, and Time Force seasons.
Good video. Can you please do a video on the top 10 or 20 power rangers villains' saddest or tragic backstories?
The thing with Ransik if Jen is to be believed is people tried to help him, but he turned them away. Hell, his life was saved from another Mutant by the doctor who transformed himself into Frax after Ransik nearly killed him.
Ransik had probably been scorned by too many people by the time a few people tried to help him
After the Green Candle incident, Tommy managed to get his Green Ranger powers back for a short time before becoming the White Ranger, that's two things that lightened the blow from Number 20.
But you didn't know that at the time.
When it first happened, it was sad.
Better than what happened to his Sentai counterpart. Knowing that candle meant the end of Burai's life, yeah Tommy got off light.
According to TV Tropes this list would fall in the category of "Darker and Edgier" and "Unexpectedly Dark Episode."
How about when the green ranger was evil and destroyed the command center thus eliminating zordon?
I’m pretty sure that #19 is when Jonny Rico and the roughnecks had there gear stolen by 5 kids with attitude.
HAH! It just hit, the lost galaxy troopers are also the same uniforms from the SST movie xD

Tommy Oliver just died and the green ranger is the first thing I remembered about this list.TOMMY NEVER DIES :C
@@LupinKing You're right, my bad! Damn there are way too many PR series.
Honorable mention to Karone being mind controlled, that first scene is cold
Also Andros learning she's Astronama. Then the finale where she "dies" after a blast and strikes her in the back. Zordon's magic still in the air Andro's tears revive her from death and her state of being mind controlled
How about Fraxx?
@@jakealter5504 omg I completely forgot, and Time Force is my favourite (next to In Space)
@@Dynexsil both are some of my favorites too. Frax had a pretty horrible fate
Frax’s Final Punishment
Tired of his series of failures, Ransik orders Frax’s humanity wiped and reprogrammed as a full robot. While being carried off, Frax shouts to Nadira, that she has the power to change her life, a power he thought he gave up. That’s all he could do and we knew what was next for him.
And ironically nadira’s turn also resulted in ransik eventually doing the same
21:32 Pink Power Rangers in Space Kendrix death, from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. This video should have had time stamps.
8:13 How the hell was Cruger not number 1?
Dude literally lost EVERYTHING.
Idk. I think being basically a government guinea pig and having to live with the fact your creation that you made in an attempt to gain freedom ended up costing the lives of countless innocents is pretty dark.
@@TheReaperofHades add on the fact that she was still just a youth...i think yea, that wins. thats emotionally and mentally scarring
@@TheReaperofHades ;_; shits messed up
@@TheReaperofHades I could say the same for the story of Fraxx
