She has good intentions to covering Miss Cleo’s story, I don’t speak for all, but I don’t think we should blame her for wanting to spread a truth. “Multi-dimensionally.” Where people were stealing from her and tarnishing her name- she, the co-director and FRIENDS and PARTNER are clearing Miss Cleo’s character for the truth over the wrong that was done to her. Should she/they have done something good with the money? Maybe. Maybe they will. But it’s something.

I am sure Ms. Cleo wasn't Jamaican based on the evasion of the question! But what's more important to me is the manner in which this woman's "gift" was "pimped out" for service while depriving of the benefits received for that service! To hear she died "penniless and broke" while tagged as "a liar and a fraud" is a terrible miscarriage of justice. Because "justice" should not only have "cleared her name" but demanded restitution be paid along with compensation for "pain and suffering". If the Broadcast depicting her life as "Ms. Cleo" serves only to "ask questions" without vindicating her against the slander and accusations that resulted in her becoming reclusive, then it too is seeking to PROFIT off of this woman, offering nothing but an opportunity to ask questions for which they'll be no answers given! Because the one who knows is now dead and those who speak on her behalf, do so AFTER THE FACT when it mattered most when she was yet living. Ms. Cleo will not benefit in what is said, for she is no longer with us! The benefit is for those who speak attempting to "clear a conscience" for what "had not been said" in the time needed. What is the lesson here - if not "hide your gifts from the corruption of men" who will pervert it's intended purpose for the sake of "greed"? THAT will be the Legacy! Not words spoken to assuage ones conscience.
Yes this is well said. Although I don’t think we need to hide our gifts, we just need to OWN our gifts and know I’m our worth so we don’t sell ourselves to those who do not have our best interest at heart.
Tamaron should have not gave this lady a platform to make even more money off of her this is disgraceful and very sad to me. She died penniless and people are still trying to get a dime 🤦🏽♀️
If you knew her story a bit more personally you would know that her friends are very involved in helping revitalize her legacy. People have to be paid for their time and work.
I LOVED me some Miss Cleo back in the day. In 2011 or so, she had a new website that she owned, and for the hell of it, I emailed the site and gave her my phone number and I STG, the real Miss Cleo called me from HER personal phone to thank me for the kind words. She was a funny, kind person and I will never forget our conversations.
Since the lady wouldn’t answer the question. She isn’t Jamaican. Any Jamaican person could pick up on the nuances in her accent and tell you that the second they heard her speak. Americans have a history of doing terrible Jamaican accents on film - look at cool runnings for instance. She could have been cast for that for sure. RIP though. This story is sad!
I now feel so sorry for her. RIP; she was used and abused. However as an Afro Caribbean woman, I and all my other "West-indian" teenage friends of the 90's knew Cleo was a whole fake. Her accent was fake as well. Her accent was more fake the Denzel Washington's in the Mighty Quinn. Also, on a clip in one of her commercials, a person on the end of the line asked where she was from and she replied, the island of Maryland. There is no island/country in the Caribbean called Maryland. My friends and I nearly hit the floor with laughter. The Caribbean are full of people with the gift of sight, etc, unfortunately, Cleo was not one of them. People should not play games with spiritual things or faking gifts, it never ends well.
Yes, she was truly disrespectful she coulda play around with it all she wanted without using our dialect! When people play around with that side and don’t understand it! Us West Indians are truly gifted!
Miss Cleo may or may not have played with her spiritual abilities idk. I'm not judging her. Especially since she's no longer in this realm. Who can judge her. She believed she had a spiritual ability to help others but she was exploited by two people to play a role and those people made a fortune off her. Sure I didn't believe her commercials but she didn't deserve to be used
Wow. I feel really bad hearing that. Cleared my perception of her up. Who's surprised that some men were behind the scam. You had to be 18 to call. Well, when my daughter was a young teenager, I received a few large charges where she'd called. I called and said that I was NOT paying the bill, because Ms. Cleo should've known that she wasn't 18. Never heard from them after that.
I just can't. . this project upsets me .I choose not to watch a documentary that Miss Cleo family will not profit from& its pieced together from footage they barely have of her . I grew up in the 90's I know enough from that time what she went through. MAY MISS CLEO LEGACY & SOUL REST IN LOVE AND TRUE PEACE 🕊♥️
Now as someone who just started to get into tarot after a broken relationship, it actually pushed me to seek THE LORD further. I had strayed from my path with the LORD. I have recently read that tarot or people who see visions are demonic, yet I disagree. I believe GOD will any and everything to get our attention in order to bring us back to him. To seek him. He wants us to question what we don't understand. He wants us to talk with him all day and night. I am still new to being obedient. In hearing and actually taking in what I hear GOD say. I have actually been one who feels like I can read tarot or have special gifts. My advice to everyone is TAKE IT BACK TO THE LORD!! We cannot take people, places, or things at face value. We have to invite the LORD into our lives
There is a more personal interview that Ms Cleo did herself with a friend and if I remember correctly she (Cleo) stated she came from a Jamaican heritage one or both of her parents. She used the accent yes, but its no different than many who have parents from the islands or other countries who are born in the US and know how to turn off and on their native tongue.
I come from a Jamaican heritage. I know many many people who can speak with authentic accent that were not born in Jamaica. Hers wasn't authentic, regardless of where she was born. That's that.
@@eijahholness337 I'm starting to notice from the comments that only the people of direct Jamaican decent can pick up right away that the accent was fake. That goes to prove how successful she was at her portrayal when it comes to the majority.
Yup I saw that interview. She said her parents were Jamaican immigrants and her Jamaican accent was fake. But to me, she’s is of Jamaican heritage if her parents were born there and she has probably several generations of family from there.
Yes like clock work, you hear their native tounge when there speaking to another Jamaican or when they get upset. My ex is from the islands I've seen it.

I watched the documentary. You learn absolutely nothing. I knew she was fake without anyone telling me. Did they use her probably did she allow it yes. RIP.
This lady directed the film and never found out if she's really Jamaican. The guy in the clip said she was born in Los Angeles and created this Ms. Cleo character who had a Jamaican accent. I guess it's still a mystery.
I remember as a little girl late night watching her couldn't go back to 💤 it was like when she came on the TV it was like magic you couldn't turn it off! I remember like it was yesterday Ms. Cleo.. this was a good one Tamara ☺️
Was Miss Cleo Jamaican? Based solely on her accent: NOPE. I don't know what her accent was supposed to be, but everytime I heard it, I laughed so hard. Could her birth parents have been Jamaican, possibly. But not many Jamaicans settled in the west coast. We wind up in South Florida and NY mostly. Whatever her true origins, she created who she wanted to be. I had no idea she had passed away, so here's hoping she truly is at peace.
I have a friend who was born in Jamaica but raised in the US, can switch her language at the drop of a dime. Maybe Miss Cleo grew up around people with an accent.
I’m Jamaican born & raised! Miss Cleo MOST DEFINITELY did NOT have Jamaican accent! I found it offensive when people joked about that & thought that was apart of our culture
Switching accents at the drop of a hat usually comes with authenticity. Meaning it is most likely your Original and authentic accent. Your brain would naturally revert to what is MOST natural to you
@@trent_king to her credit Raven has also said she was told to invest by her parents so she wouldn't need to work which is why she was able to take a break from the industry So she was able to save what she made back then.

Amazing how these parasites link to talented people, make money on their talent, then leave those who they leeched on penniless. They didn’t have the integrity to say, Ms Cleo, you are making this program rich… let’s get you paid. I know that’s stupid because thieves never share.
I met Miss Cleo at a lesbian get together and we had a good talk, she was a down to earth person and so easy to talk to. I do believe she was Jamaican, we both reminisce about growing up in Jamaica. And the fact that people didn't believe she was Jamaican.
Interesting, she definitely had some type of accent, but it’s not an authentic Jamaican patois accent, being Jamaican myself born and raised. Sad story
This film, like all others, brings awareness to who this lady was. The inference here is that Miss Cleo may not have known or been completely honest about her identity. She says in the clip “they wanted me to act like I was fresh off the boat” but she never said she was pretending to be Jamaican.
Damn I remember my great aunt calling her back in the day and when she told her something that my aunt didn’t like my aunt curse her all the way out🤦🏾♀️💀😭🤣😂
Why was this woman asked to do an interview if you are not going to answer any of the questions. Nothing that was said would cause me to want to watch the documentary.
She was Ms, Cleo the psychic she was supposed to know if she was being used or not, she was the reader and to help people. Was she really Jamaican?I didn't know she passed away, my condolences goes out to her family.
Wow, so basically that company used her. They used her image and likeness to make that billion dollars. They then use her as a scapegoat for the corruption that THEY were doing. I actually watch a lot of people like Miss Cleo here on TH-cam! Yes you can think whatever you want about tarot but these are people just sharing their talents. You don’t have to believe it. I just find it interesting how people can be ok with getting advice from Christian Pastors who also make money with their gift but when it comes to spiritual people we tend to shame and make fun of them. Loved this conversation! Great interview!

You should read some comments online. It is like they took her TV appearances personal.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well said
Yes this is well said.

Her story deserves to be told.

I live in FL so my ear is trained on island accents and she definitely wasn't Jamaican.
As a Jamaican i knew she wasn't, i used to thought the accent was maybe Trini or something, had no idea they thought they were doing Jamaican accent 🤔
Her accent was foreign and she sounded convincing and made us call. She bears some responsibility.

Cleo was still talking with an accent 🧐 she kept the fraud going… she should’ve quit as soon as she seen she wasn’t getting paid..
Me too!
Sad to know how she was exploited and died without any money
I called her twice and they were spot on but my phone was billed 150 . Fr
Spiritism is not a gift.. its communication with God's enemies, the Devil and his demons.
@@luvnyaalwayz Gtfoh with that nonsense 🤨
Miss Cleo may or may not have played with her spiritual abilities idk. I'm not judging her. Especially since she's no longer in this realm. Who can judge her. She believed she had a spiritual ability to help others but she was exploited by two people to play a role and those people made a fortune off her. Sure I didn't believe her commercials but she didn't deserve to be used
@Ms.Sangie True 💯
Was she a fraud? No answer. Was she Jamaican? No answer. This woman is NOT answering the questions, and it seems that the documentary doesn’t either
Okay so is she Jamaican or not? That’s a yes or no answer

That's the fakest Jamaican accent I've ever heard 😂
as Jamaicans we can tell when someone is faking our accent, there are little nuances that we pick up easily

Amen beautifully said
There is a more personal interview that Ms Cleo did herself with a friend and if I remember correctly she (Cleo) stated she came from a Jamaican heritage one or both of her parents.

Thank you

A simple question is asked is she Jamaican? This woman danced around. The answer is NO she was not Jamaican. Sad that her life went the way it did.
When they told her to lie about herself that was a sign to not deal with them
This film director can’t answer the questions. She’s just promoting her film.

However, something about this interview seems off to me also.
A couple of us were talking about Ms. Cleo and what ever happened to her? We thought that she was jailed for making more money than a black woman was suppose to have made. Who knew she died penniless? Thank you for setting the record straight!
This lady danced around all of the questions
Amazing how these parasites link to talented people, make money on their talent, then leave those who they leeched on penniless. They didn’t have the integrity to say, Ms Cleo, you are making this program rich… let’s get you paid. I know that’s stupid because thieves never share.

I met Miss Cleo at a lesbian get together and we had a good talk, she was a down to earth person and so easy to talk to. I do believe she was Jamaican, we both reminisce about growing up in Jamaica. And the fact that people didn't believe she was Jamaican.
Wow very interesting
Her parents were definitely Jamaican, which by Jamaican law makes her Jamaican! She could’ve competed in the Olympics -that’s how Jamaican she is!
I believe that she was Jamaican.
Interesting, she definitely had some type of accent, but it’s not an authentic Jamaican patois accent, being Jamaican myself born and raised. Sad story
😏
This film, like all others, brings awareness to who this lady was. The inference here is that Miss Cleo may not have known or been completely honest about her identity. She says in the clip “they wanted me to act like I was fresh off the boat” but she never said she was pretending to be Jamaican.
