I need more Knob Creek/Bookers in my life!!
Visiting a couple different Liquor Stores on the edge of Cincy is usually my go to.
Visiting any distillery on Whiskey Row just for fun.
Similar to Paul, I'm 0/1 for Jimmy Russell.
Lots of distilleries have hidden bottles on the shelves with signatures which is fun to uncover.
Also claiming gifts from the Ambassador Programs is clutch including a few tour / tasting at a number of Distilleries once a year
Great video!! Thanks for the information
Thanks for watching
Maker’s Mark offers their own Private Select distillery only release at their gift shop.
I’m 0 for 2 meeting Jimmy Russell 😢
Whisky Thieving Company lets you thieve your own bottle.
Can get signed bottles at Kentucky Artisan (Jefferson’s) and Bardstown Bourbon Company.
Angels Envy sells cask strength (don’t see in Ohio).
I just missed 4 Roses, last time I was in town (wouldn’t have made it before closing). Still mad at myself 🤬🤬
I just returned home from the bourbon trail on aug 19th and I had luck at Mitchers(Fort Nelson and Single Barrel 10yr Rye), Old Forester( OFSBBS Rye),4 Roses( Single Barrel Barrel Strength OESF),Angels Envy(Single Barrel Angels Envy Distillery & bottled n bond Cask Strength 375ml though).. I missed the Bakers 13 at Jim Bean the day I arrived because I decided to check in to my hotel before I started my hunts and I passed on the Weller SR at Buffalo Trace because Im not a fan of the SR but all in all I think I had a great haul from all distilleries
Sounds like you had a great time and managed to get some nice bottles. I enjoy the Kentucky trips and visiting the distilleries.
Neat actually sells the Evan Williams 12 year for less than they do at the Evan Williams Experience
I have never been there, thanks for the info! I have seen in for sale at John O's but wasn't any cheaper.
I love Michters as well! They do not accept cash! I always stash a few bucks every paycheck and that is my bourbon fund. I stood in line and was about to pay when I found that out! Caught me off guard!
I always just use my card but I did not know they don't take cash. Good to know, thank you.
I'm planning a trip soon and I'm worried about transporting all the bottles I may buy there through the airport. is it safe to pack the bottles in my luggage or do I have the option to ship from the distillery?
When flying you can pack unopened bottles in checked luggage "Alcoholic beverages with more than 24% but not more than 70% alcohol are limited in checked bags to 5 liters (1.3 gallons) per passenger and must be in unopened retail packaging. Alcoholic beverages with 24% alcohol or less are not subject to limitations in checked bags"
That comes to about 6 bottles of 750 ml. Use the inflatable wine bags to protect them.
The distilleries won't ship for you, you would have to ship it yourself.
