Yes but I wish they made there analog sticks switchable on the portal like there playstation edge controller for stick drift you may get in the future besides that the device is 🔥
on another note, before the Portal came out I used my 12.9' iPad for remote play. It was dope, especially the screen size, but I had always wanted a handheld. I prefer the Portal too
Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed this comparison using remote play on the playstation portal and the M2 iPad Pro 11 inch! Took a lot of time and energy to produce this video for you guys and hopefully this answered your questions. If theres more you want to know about the Portal or M2 iPad Pro feel free to comment below and ask me anything! Have a great weekend!🫡🎮🔥
I bought a 2015 iPad Pro 12.9” for 150 bucks. It works perfectly and remote play rocks on it. Especially with mirrorplay. I’m playing PS4 Pro, but I scored a PS5 controller for thirty bucks at GameStop. Works perfect.
I have every colour of PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5 and I have all the handhelds: PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 and the GO and the PS Vita and now I am getting a ps portal for easter
I have a question. Everybody is saying that ps portal is a stupid thing since they can use their tablets/phones. But (correct me if im wrong), ps portal needs a first connection with the same network, then you can use it everywhere in the world the only thing you need is a stable network connection, while on the tablet/phone you have to be on the same network. Am i right?
Thank you for the video! I usually use my IPad and PS4 controller. I’ve never been able to connect to remote play outside my home. I only want PS Portal if I can play remote anywhere. My friend has a PS Portal and he was able to connect to his PS5 from work using the Portal.
Yeah it’s been a on going issue for some time. Hopefully before the year ends I’ll come out with a fix on how to bypass it on mostly every remote play device. The portal definitely has some connection issues but it’s getting better
so here's my question, i already have several ipads because of the type of work that I do....including a 12.9 inch pro. is it portable worth it for $200?
It's all objective, if you want to experience your ps5 on the go to its full potential then the portal has vibrations & haptics. While the remoteplay experience may be better on a Larger display (on your iPad) your missing out on the vibration aspect of the game which in return, down grades the experience in my opinion. The portal is worth it! Plus it has cloud streaming for those who don't have a ps5 or don't purchase games often. Hope this helps 🫡🔥🎮
@@TechMarkGaming thank you!! that's very helpful. i think it's now out of my hands anyway. i have a feeling my lovely wife is getting it for me for Christmas. Looking forward to it now. Just picked up BG3 finally. i think that will be a perfect "bed" game.
Will the PlayStation portal connect to the iPad as a regular PS5 controller? Like if I wanted to use the portal as a controller to play iPad OS games like warzone mobile.
Nope I wish it was possible bc that sounds like it’ll be useful if 2 players want to play at the same time! Hopefully they will allow it in the future!
Does it actually work with the iPad hardwired with Ethernet to your network? I would assume that would alleviate some latency if both the console and iPad were plugged in the same network with Ethernet but I can’t easily find this anywhere
Ja ok wenn man auf die Vibrationen und Lichter abfährt aber ich finde es sehr praktisch das man ab und zu auf dem i Pad zocke kann und es ansonsten zum arbeiten benutzen kann
Honestly both screen are identical when using remote play to the average consumer. Thing is, the iPad can only stream up to 720p vs the portal which streams at 1080 so imo the portal wins remote play since it supports the haptic triggers & vibrates.
Hey Mat, it's most likely due to the internet connection / speeds or router! I'd say if the exclusive was choppy then the portal would be choppy as well. I have tons of videos on my channel on how to maximize the performance! Hope this helps man have a great weekend 🫡🔥🎮
@@TechMarkGaminghey does this remote play works in iPad Pro in 1440p or only 1080p? Please answer me I am buying ps5 soon but my iPad Pro is looking better than my monitor. And my iPad Pro has better than 1440p display
Not much, the portal has a slight advantage since there's no Bluetooth input required. The dual sense control holds up fair as well! I'd prefer the portal bc if the Haptics and vibrations. Thanks for asking Kevin!
i have the portal and my phone does a better job with remote play. i returned that thing idk why everyone says it is good. that thing is trash. I had the best internet u can buy with ethernet connected and still have so many problems, lag, stuttering, framerate goes down to 30fps(idk how if it is being streamed) but yes look it up multiple people claim fps drop. phone is smooth like butter. how did sony mess this up.
I think it's because modern phones can support wifi 6 n above but this portal can only support wifi 5 at the most, sad really because I liked the screen and ergonomics :/
I tried, but I really don't like the black borders and the PS Portal has a higher resolution at 1080p compared to the 800p of the Steam Deck just sad it doesn't come in black and an OLED screen.
I use my portal for play Helldivers II and works fine. I love my PS Portal ❤
Hell Divers 2 on the portal >>>

This is the comment I didn't know I needed 😂
This "micro stuttering" on the PS Portal actually never goes away
I have a ps portal and never get any stutter.
I see you cooking, bro! The quality is up there 👌🏾. That transition at 6:54 was crazy
on another note, before the Portal came out I used my 12.9' iPad for remote play. It was dope, especially the screen size, but I had always wanted a handheld. I prefer the Portal too
The PlayStation portal is like a PSP in my eyes especially since I grew up using a PSP before smart phones was even a thing.

I still use my iPad Pro 12.9 first gen from 2015. It’s a beast. It’s been downgraded to the kitchen now since I updated to the m2 iPad Pro last month.
Great vid, been looking for a comparison like this to help me make my decision. New subscriber!

Nah you can play anywhere on phone and I pad as well just need a strong WiFi
You dont need to pay 500 bucks through a scalper.
Of course not!
No scalper is charging $500 anymore. Maybe the first 2 weeks of launch. But it’s resold at $250 on average. But still worth just waiting to get one
Graphics wise, I tried the Ipad Pro with M2 chip and the graphics kinda downgraded a bit so was wondering how is it on the ps portal?
The portal has a better video image along with the vibration and haptics!

You don’t need the portal to play away from home any device with remote play can
Yeah it’s been a on going issue for some time. Hopefully before the year ends I’ll come out with a fix on how to bypass it on mostly every remote play device. The portal definitely has some connection issues but it’s getting better

@bloodvenky6506 the iPad Pro plays at 1080p if you network is fast enough. The screen is nice enough to get by just fine.

It’s not - dude just keeps harping on haptics. The delay is equally bad on both. Save your money.

My favorite way of playing Remote Play is on my Steam Deck OLED, it uses haptic feedback and rumble and the screen is just amazing! 🔥

how about deadzones? in mac, deadzone is terrible
I'm getting the ps5 portable this Friday cant wait
It’s so stupid - why pay 200$ when you can just use your iPad/ tablet/ phone or instead buy a new iPad? So so stupid. Worst product ever.
Because I’m rich
The only thing I don’t like about using my iPad Pro is that there’s black bars on top and bottom. Haven’t figured out how to get rid of them.
Which ipad do you have?
