What about browning in the center? like the spine of the leaves... (idk, new plant mom lol). I bought a little palm tree (might not be an actual palm) and a couple of the leaves have brown spots in the centers. One of the leaves was bent against other leaves right where it was browning so I'm assuming it's a pressure/stress thing (like cutting off circulation). I unbent the leaf, but can't see any bends or anything that might have caused this on the other couple of leaves. (The leaves with browning centers aren't near each other.)
Hi! Do you have instagram by any chance? Maybe you can send a picture and we can figure it out.. It may be an infection of fungi..! But better to see it first and talk a bit more so we can try figurig it out together :)
how do you feel about misting? people disagree so much, but I think that when I mist in the winter when the air is driest in my house, all my tropicals are so much happier. I also use a humidifier but I only have one, so I put it near my most sensitive plants...
I think misting should not be a problem (in my experience) it is very similar to transpiration on the leaves 😊 but yes ! A humidifier is very useful for sure !
Thank you for your helpful videos… We just discovered yet! We are new house plant parents as well. Starting kind of late in life🤣 Anyway our problem with our corn plant is that all of a sudden a few leaves are completely brown. Some of the tips on other leaves are completely brown. We have watched your other videos and are beginning to think we may have been overwatering it. My question is… Do we trim the brown leaves or leave them? If so, how do we trim them properly? TIA
This sounds like fungus gnats! You can find a video on how to get rid of fungus gnats here: th-cam.com/video/y2L0RxAmKGo/w-d-xo.html and a Quick Plant tip video on them here: th-cam.com/video/X7c8iwjXH5M/w-d-xo.html Hope these are helpful!
A humidifier and a water filter have definitely helped my plants and getting rid of those brown leaves. Thanks so much for sharing Lucia!
Still relevant. Nicely explained 9 months later still reining.
That’s so sweet ! Thank you 😊
I cannot wait until winter is over. Or until I get a good humidifier 😄
Thanks Lucia, I'll plead guilty to underwatering.

Hi! I’m sorry I only got to your question now ! Hmm I don’t have experience with the corn plant yet, how’s it doing now?
My leaves are turning brown underneath and not on top of the leaf... does anyone know what that means?
Please tell how we could rid of from inside plants tiny fly bugs ??
