- The Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in August sent shockwaves around the world.
The group is, once again, in power, determined to implement its vision for the country and cement ties with the rest of the world.
This week, the spokesman for the Taliban’s ministry of foreign affairs discusses the group’s plans for how it will reach out to women, minorities and its opponents.
Is the Taliban open to reform and will the group abandon its strict interpretation of Islamic law? Abdul Qahar Balkhi talks to Al Jazeera.

When Taliban is not give freedom to women then no one will sit and watch that. What kind of ideology is in 21 century? Is the western country should give money to Taliban in the Doha agreement? If they don't treat their own women then they lost power in 20 years ago and Taliban is doing the same mistake again. Taliban are banned by the champions of freedom of speech from all social media except Twitter and telegram. You can follow them only on twitter. Only a few TH-cam channels are active in Pashto language.

They intend to make it happen, but men and women will definitely NOT share classrooms. @@CAL-jj4om He's a very nice speaker but yes it seems like there is a big disconnection between Taliban leaders words and the reality on the streets. I think some Talibs around the country are doing their own thing and making their own local laws instead of abiding to the central Talib leadership in Kabul. It's a sign of trouble between different Talib factions.

It was the Taliban, not Fox news that said they would use their traditional style of punishment as a deterrence to make people obey their laws. And it does work when people understand the extreme consequences of breaking the law.

Honestly, he is more well spoken than my country minister...I watch his few interviews previously, so impressed how he is calmly and clearly answers all the questions everytime.
What a Great young Muslim man I liked how he deliberately explain the issue of Alqacida and ISIS and clearly say we don’t need false Muslim extremists and bye the way the commitment of new administration put in place to solve the local problem and to enhance the regional and international ties.
Finally he defined the kind of Afghanistan he has in mind which is Afghanistan of economic corridor and Business cooperation other than playground of others as it was last decades.
