At our camp they tell us to pack yourself because they always have lost property at the end and no one claims it because they don't know what they have packed
I’m 11 and I haven’t gotten my period yet. Now I know to pack dark sheets and make a period kit when it comes to summer camp time just Incase I get it in camp. Thanks and make more camp vids please Edit: 3 weeks later I get my period and go straight back to this video. Thank you sooo much Kari!!
I still dont see why people don't use duffle bags, they take up less room and can hold a crap ton plus it doesnt have to be BRAND new you can get them at places like goodwill for like $5. But its just me, love your videos and this truly helped me so thank youu!!
I’ve been to camp and this is my second year going. This is the only helpful video I’ve found. My camp gives us a packing list but still. If you’re in real cabins though (with chicken wire and mesh for windows) wouldn’t recommend candy because raccoons
i’ve been to multiple different camps, my first one we were allowed to bring snacks, second one we were not allowed, and then another one had no specific rules because we went with my church and we’re basically renting the facilities, so many of the younger kids had candy and snacks in their bags and then we ended up having rats in our cabin 😬 definitely depends on the camp and facility, though.
I am going to a camp where you go to classes and stay in college dorms so most of the time I will stay indoors but there will be outside activities and this is very helpful
I'm definitely using the Ziploc bag method when I go to camp in July! It's going to be so much easier for me to keep my stuff organized since I am going for 12 days. Although my camp does uniforms since its a music camp, we still have rec time. I'm expecting my cycle around camp time too so that'll be useful to know. I'm saving this video to look at when I'm going this summer!
Can you do a video on what to pack when you are traveling now that I am done with college... 2015 grad student! I'm ready to travel! How to pack light and what are some good essentials to bring.??
I do have my period, I have a tip yes get dark sheets, but you can also have period underwear. It wont leak if you get a good one. But still use a pad or tampon
I am so glad to see this video! I am going to camp soon and most Of the videos I've seen mention having a dresser at camp. Unfortunately the camp I go to does not have dressers so we also have to "live" out of our suitcases. I bring a trunk or set of Sterilite drawers, for a week at camp, but I am an overpacker!!
My 15 year old is going to FCA camp in 5 days for her first time. I'm so nervous as this is her first time away for so long, but your videos have been so helpful in having her prepared thank you so much. I don't have to worry that I will forget something important!!!!
I love packing for camp videos because I love camp and always overpack and yours is by far my favorite because it is long and you don't skip everything
A good methode you can do to pack is a hockey bag for your towels, bedding and shies. Then you can do a back pack for toletries and then you can do the plastice drawrs if you know what I'm talking about
This video is perfect! My 9 yr old son is going to sleep away camp for the first time and i really needed this video to make it easy for him. Thank you.
Such a helpful video, I go to camp in a week and I've been going for a few years now and this year I know I will be organized and have everything I need! Thank you so so much!:) great great video
ok but the ziplock bag thing is literally the smartest idea ever! im always digging through my bag and freaking out cuz we dont have much time to get ready. so just grabbing a bag is so smart!
You only forgot one thing, the kitchen sink. You did amazing! So much in 1 suitcase and so organized. My daughter is a flight attendant and can learn from you.☺️
If Rae wants to go to a 2 week camp, there is a awesome camp I go to every year! It is camp Masse Moro in Wisconsin. It's a Norwegian heritage camp, but you don't have to be Norwegian to go. It's from July 15-28, and they are accepting applications until July 1st, 2018. The website is massemoro.org. And the best part is that it's pretty cheap, around the price of a one week camp. The counters are a lot of fun and we have 2 banquets/dances, along with activity's she gets to choose and a Viking Olympics. Its pretty small, as there was a count of 40 campers a few days ago. I hope you are interested in going! If you have questions, just ask :)
Hello I found this video a few days ago I don’t care you posted this a year ago, I love it! The Plastic Bag method is so good! I told/showed my mum this and she Loves it!
Great tips. My daughter also gets dry under her nose. Aquaphor is really great for that. It contains healing properties. Walmart sells a great generic. TFS. Hope your daughter has a great time!~Jess
At my camp they don't care what you pack your stuff in as long as it fits every thing. Last year someone in my cabin bought all of her stuff in a backpack for a week.
Have you considered mesh bags? I bought some from the dollar store and I put stuff in there for camp (I’m a counselor) it’s about the same size as the ziplocks and they’re reusable with zippers. If she puts her old clothes in there there’s hole so it’ll air out.
You cold put the clothes in the bag then close it almost all the way and push it down in a tub of water and leave the top out so water doesn’t get in it and close it while you are pushing it under
kelly123987 I just close the bags but not all the way. Then i start at the bottom and make my way up squeezing the air out then when I get all the air out I close the little price of the bag that I had left. That might be hard to understand but hopefully this works for you
Fill your bag up with your clothes/ other stuff, than close it mostly all the way, then put a straw in and suck all the air out and take the straw out and close the rest of the bag
I travel with a band and the guys are always talking about i pack too much so ive been looking at videos for ideas. Im watching a video right now and the girl is using compression bags....I may order some of those but use your idea of putting the outfits together
this make me miss my camp days, i am looking for a month packing for august i go new jersey every summer to vist see my uncle and my few close friends i grew up with from arizona get way from heat as well
First time sleep away camp momma here and I was planning on packing similar to you, but wasn't for sure on my selections. Thank you so much for the tips! I'm worried I may be going a bit overboard but I want my son to be comfortable, he's very nervous ♥️
I’m going to a sleep away camp for the first time and it’s middle-high school and I’m going to 6th grade and I’m prob one of the youngest ones there and I barley know anyone 😂😬
I’m supposed to start my period half way through a week long camp. I am making the choice to try tampons because we will be tubing and I don’t want to miss out😂 but he bag method I will try!!
At my camp, you send stuff early and specify the day you want it given to them and they give it to you that day. Otherwise, they give you it when they get it.
omg im going to camp this year and i will have my period so i know to bring dark sheets thank you!!!!
nice pfp
Organized mom preparing a child to be organized as well. I love it!
I wish my mom would pack for me like that! LOVE YOUR TIPS!
At our camp they tell us to pack yourself because they always have lost property at the end and no one claims it because they don't know what they have packed
Itz. Zoe 68 yeah but you can use labels 🏷
Itz. Zoe 68 and plus i think someone would know if it was their clothes or item
I am going to camp on Sunday and I have never gotten my period
If I do I don't know if I will swim but thank you for the dark sheets hack
I watch this video every time before I go to camp it's a lifesaver
I’m 11 and I haven’t gotten my period yet. Now I know to pack dark sheets and make a period kit when it comes to summer camp time just Incase I get it in camp. Thanks and make more camp vids please
Edit: 3 weeks later I get my period and go straight back to this video. Thank you sooo much Kari!!

I really like how practical and matter of fact you are about her cycle. There are tips here I could have used for military tdy's.

I still dont see why people don't use duffle bags, they take up less room and can hold a crap ton plus it doesnt have to be BRAND new you can get them at places like goodwill for like $5. But its just me, love your videos and this truly helped me so thank youu!!
watch this every single year as i prepare for camp
Thank you for this. My daughter is going to her first sleep away camp and I did not know what to pack. Love the Ziplock idea
I’ve been to camp and this is my second year going. This is the only helpful video I’ve found. My camp gives us a packing list but still. If you’re in real cabins though (with chicken wire and mesh for windows) wouldn’t recommend candy because raccoons
Yes the part where you said that This is the only helpful video I’ve found. that is so true
yeah we are not even allowed to bring ANY snacks
My camp puts that on the list we get well I didn’t go this year because of COVID but it would say DO NOT BRING ANY SNACKS OR CANDY
Yeah, at my camp we sleep in canvas platform tents so no food is allowed
i’ve been to multiple different camps, my first one we were allowed to bring snacks, second one we were not allowed, and then another one had no specific rules because we went with my church and we’re basically renting the facilities, so many of the younger kids had candy and snacks in their bags and then we ended up having rats in our cabin 😬 definitely depends on the camp and facility, though.

Love the ziplock method. I'm going to use it thank you
Can you do a video on what to pack when you are traveling now that I am done with college... 2015 grad student! I'm ready to travel! How to pack light and what are some good essentials to bring.??
I’m honestly really jealous on how her suit case looks when she opened it. I can never get mine to look that good
Thx for this video... it’s really helpful
I do have my period, I have a tip yes get dark sheets, but you can also have period underwear. It wont leak if you get a good one. But still use a pad or tampon
It is so helpful cause I am going to long point camp too
This was so helpful My kids are going to camp for the first time this year and I definitely love your video Thanks for sharing
I have watched this video like 10 times idk why I just love it
My 15 year old is going to FCA camp in 5 days for her first time. I'm so nervous as this is her first time away for so long, but your videos have been so helpful in having her prepared thank you so much. I don't have to worry that I will forget something important!!!!

I used the ziploc method last year and it worked VERYYY well going to use it again this year thanks so much had to come back to this video!
ok but the ziplock bag thing is literally the smartest idea ever! im always digging through my bag and freaking out cuz we dont have much time to get ready. so just grabbing a bag is so smart!
So glad that you found this video helpful :)
You only forgot one thing, the kitchen sink. You did amazing! So much in 1 suitcase and so organized. My daughter is a flight attendant and can learn from you.☺️
Great tips Keri. I think you got it all covered. Hope Reagan has fun on her trip.
Wow! Im going to church camp in 2 weeks for 3 nights and this video really helped! thanks a lot!
Hi Keri I'm Olivia and l'm 11 years old I haven't started my period yet but I'm now really prepared for when I go it so thank you so much bye
If you still haven't, pack lots of ibuprofen. I've missed school because of cramps before, and I wouldn't want you to miss out.
Your tips were very helpful as we prepare for my daughter's first summer at sleepaway camp!! Thank you for sharing.
Love this video! Going to camp soon and I needed some ideas of what I might want that isn't on my list. Talk about a useful video!
Headed to a week camp on Sunday. Always check your account before I pack. You have the best ideas.
If Rae wants to go to a 2 week camp, there is a awesome camp I go to every year! It is camp Masse Moro in Wisconsin. It's a Norwegian heritage camp, but you don't have to be Norwegian to go. This video is so helpful I have church camp in a week and I did not know what to take
I loved this video i'm leaving for a 5 day camp in two weeks and i'm so excited
This was so much help thank you so much this is probably my last year of camp and I wish I would’ve known about this the first time I went
Hello I found this video a few days ago I don’t care you posted this a year ago, I love it! The Plastic Bag method is so good! I told/showed my mum this and she Loves it!
you are a super mom
Definitely will be using a lot of these tips. I like the bag idea for the clothes.
The ziplock bags work like a charm, especially if they don't have dressers and have to live out of their suitcases/trunks.
Great tips. My daughter also gets dry under her nose. Aquaphor is really great for that. It contains healing properties. Walmart sells a great generic. TFS. Hope your daughter has a great time!~Jess
At our camp you're supposed to bring a trunk
At my camp they don't care what you pack your stuff in as long as it fits every thing. Last year someone in my cabin bought all of her stuff in a backpack for a week.
Same
Since there camp is less then a week there is no point of putting everything in a big trunk.
my camp does not really care what u bring
I bring a duffle...
I have a black trunk for camp! My mom decorated it for me 😊
The Ziplock method is great! The video is so helpful.
Have you considered mesh bags? I bought some from the dollar store and I put stuff in there for camp (I’m a counselor) it’s about the same size as the ziplocks and they’re reusable with zippers. If she puts her old clothes in there there’s hole so it’ll air out.
That is a great idea. I may look into using the mesh bags this summer when she goes away to camp.
For the ziplock bag method, is there a trick to getting all the air out of the bags? I can never get them to save as much space as yours seem to!
kelly123987 colder the bag3/4 of the way, roll then close the bag and all the air SHOULD come out
You cold put the clothes in the bag then close it almost all the way and push it down in a tub of water and leave the top out so water doesn’t get in it and close it while you are pushing it under
kelly123987 I just close the bags but not all the way. Then i start at the bottom and make my way up squeezing the air out then when I get all the air out I close the little price of the bag that I had left. That might be hard to understand but hopefully this works for you
kelly123987 I use a vacuum:)
Fill your bag up with your clothes/ other stuff, than close it mostly all the way, then put a straw in and suck all the air out and take the straw out and close the rest of the bag
Most cabin camps don’t allow you to have food or snacks so critters don’t break in to your cabin😂
Where's the swimsuit from? It looks really cute from the outside of the bag lol
I think it is from Rue 21. She got it last year.
Omg thanks I’m going to a 8th grade senior camp trip and this helped so much❤️
the color coding is genius, definitely using that the next time I go to camp
Me and my friend are going on a week long camp with our social club. I'm using a cabin bag
Great video ! And i love the zip lock baggie with outfits in them! im going to use that idea for sure
Thanks! The ziplock method works like a charm.
I travel with a band and the guys are always talking about i pack too much so ive been looking at videos for ideas. Im watching a video right now and the girl is using compression bags....I may order some of those but use your idea of putting the outfits together
Such a good source for camp help!
this make me miss my camp days, i am looking for a month packing for august i go new jersey every summer to vist see my uncle and my few close friends i grew up with from arizona get way from heat as well
OMG IM GOING TO THE SAME CAMP!!!
Thank you. I went to camp last year and only packed one beach and one regular towel. Bad idea they were wet and dirty and ugh.
Omg this is so helpful thanks so much
i am going to kingwood next year so thats helpful but it varys depending if i get a place
Thank you so much for this video, it is very helpful.
Are you going to be making a 2018 Camp video because I am also going to a Christian camp?

First time sleep away camp momma here and I was planning on packing similar to you, but wasn't for sure on my selections. Thank you so much for the tips! I'm worried I may be going a bit overboard but I want my son to be comfortable, he's very nervous ♥️

Im going to school camp in 4 weeks
I’m going to a sleep away camp for the first time and it’s middle-high school and I’m going to 6th grade and I’m prob one of the youngest ones there and I barley know anyone 😂😬
I’m supposed to start my period half way through a week long camp. I am making the choice to try tampons because we will be tubing and I don’t want to miss out😂 but he bag method I will try!!
They get two showers per day! For 5 days! Wow at my church camp that goes for 7 days they only let you take 2-3 showers the WHOLE WEEK!!!
I am going to the same camp and I am nervous and excited
great video!
Thanks!
where did you get her toiletry bag and those hooks to clip towels
that hand sanitizer is just too cute!
You're videos are so helpful thanki
You are welcome :)
Some of this stuff ive seen at 5&bellow
Best tip I ever got thank u so much 😊
At my camp, you send stuff early and specify the day you want it given to them and they give it to you that day. Otherwise, they give you it when they get it.
2 showers a day!? My camp runs 2 weeks and we have 3-4 showers
Haha the camp I go on we only have one shower per week!
Gross I’m sorry but you should take 1shower a day
My camp has 1 shower a day. Otherwise me and my friends will start to stink 😂
Same. The camp I went to only had 2 showers per cabin for 15 girls
Oh, some people at mine don't even shower everyday. We only have one at most.
Are you going to camp Harlow?
