I saw a video where Stacey Mckinley a member of Tyson's training team said that he did not want Tyson taking this fight because he wasn't ready and not in good enough shape, but he was overruled because there was so much money involved and i suppose because they were both getting older. First round Tyson of old moving his head from side to side and getting inside. Second round on Tyson became a sitting target. What made Tyson so good in his early days was his incredible quick movement. When that went he became just another heavyweight susceptible to big uppercuts.

I stand to differ with many, what i see here is a nasty fight where the other fighter is allowed to hold, lean and jump over the shorter fighter. That's against the rules of boxing match. Tyson got tired because Lewis mount his heavier body over him.
Look at Holmes vs Mercer, Holmes vs McCall, Tyson vs Tills, Lewis vs Mercer there were no such holding, leaning and jumping over other fighter. Lewis also did this to Holyfield2, he pushed and grabbed.

Like Duran did with weight shifts?..is he that good at behemoth weight. Those 19stone 7foot guys have taken oven .i have waited for usek for this reason.. @@deanbell300 Very good writen. I think he is overrated too. But I think you forgot the Klitschkos at their prime. I think Especially Vitali Klitschko could have won vs Tyson. Mike Tyson a talent no doubt hand speed and power combo
But Mike Tyson also had flaws for a heavyweight short arms and trying to rely to much on his knockout power and started getting hit more in late 80s and 90s
Mike style fun to watch and build for youth
When Mike Tyson lost his speed he wasn't as good
Mike Tyson was kinda of one dimensional
I called Mike Tyson overrated because hes lost all his big fights to fighters in his era Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield
And because people try to put Mike Tyson on the levels of Muhammad Ali
I dont think Mike Tyson a top 5 heavyweight all time
Mike Tyson somewhere in the top 10
But to try to put Mike Tyson top 5 is overrating him

Tysons prime was 2 or 3yrs. That wasn't Lewis's fault. Tyson paid him 4 million to step aside. How many top boxers did Tyson avoid. Most of them. Lewis never turned away from a fight. He put everything on the fight against Tyson when no one would give him a fight.

@Billyjo44 Considering Lewis was a year older than Tyson in this fight at 36 almost 37 short by 3 months and Tyson was 35, I don't think that's so easy to say. If Tyson was in his Prime, Lewis also would of been in his Prime. Lewis has a massive reach on Tyson and he's also 7 to 8 inches taller and out weighs him by 15 to 20 lbs. That tells the story right there. Tyson couldn't get near him, for Lewis it was like swatting flys with a bat, his arms are so long... ( & I'm a Big Tyson fan ) but it is what it is...
