    Dan I found your channel one night while looking for an automotive explanation of something, now I am hooked! I work in a hospital repairing electrical faults so I am familiar with lots of the test equipment and techniques you use, but you have the mind of a genius and master technician.
    Keep posting Dan, like so many other techs around the world we need our diet of your videos, you make everything sound so easy, we know it isn’t and that a probably why we tune in.

    How the modules talk to one another thru the can bus and other ways r starting to become clearer to me. I really appreciate u and your channel. It's opened up a new area in my brain. For me, it's a little at a time. I'm slowing replacing the plugs points carburetor module with the new systems. Did rear brakes on a 2014 Audi yesterday. Used my Launch Diagun to retract and then relearn electric parking brake. Us old dogs can learn some new tricks😊Thanks again! Your friend has lots of really nice toys in his shop!! Wish we had people as good as you here in the UK near me. I had a VW Touran from new, The first winter as soon as the teperature went below zero the radio would not work and the engine warning light came on, when the car warmed up the radio came on but the warning light stayed on so I went back to the dealer who could find nothing wrong, the code read turbo over boost. This went on for several years, pay the dealers for clearing the fault for it to come back again next time the car was started in freezing weather, in the end I purchased a cheap can bus reader and just cancelled the fault myself, had the car for ten years and the problem was never found, the dealer told me it must have been a software bug but they never updated that. I no longer hav the VW and will never buy another.

    Well, that is what I would call over engineering. :). Lot of aftermarket tow bar installer, very few people, in my experience, understands all the relations. Hopefully in next generation system would just check if anything is hooked up the trailer all the time, no need for conditional coding. Just mine point of view. Oh and great explanation with the speeds limits for towing ... as usual from you :)
    Also that calibration with special pattern in exact place is just crazy.

    These automotive engineers might be getting a little carried away with the micro controllers. I have a 2022 beamer, and the butt warmer module cant talk to the ball scratcher module. These functions are high priority and should be move to the high speed PT bus. Just wait til 5G is fully implemented. "They will know how many people are in the car, how far you drove today, if your tire pressure is low. If the car and phone agree you were at the pub for more than 3 hours, it might not start or you might get a visit on the way home. Do you drive electric or a gas guzzler. And thats just the tip. Love the videos. Good job of keeping up with the times.

    That's such a great law for safety to have as braking distance is greatly enhanced with a trailer of any kind when being towed!!
    I live in the US and to my knowledge there is no such law so if the speed limit is 70 MPH you can bet a trailer with a VERY small circumference tire is going 70 mph until that tire blows or the bearing overheats, its always easy to see a trailer on the side of the road with a blown tire or seized wheel bearing

    • @Diagnosedan
      @Diagnosedan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jifeline is an interface, the operator has all the dealer tools at his disposal. So there isn't anything they can't do. For many Calibrations you'll need targets like the one in the video, so you'll need those
