  • How to start using off-camera flash for cheap. In this video I let you know some cheap starting options to start using off-camera flash with any camera that has a PC Sync port. (since that's what we'll be using in this video)
    This is the cheapest option for getting your flash off the camera for better photos. If I'm wrong I'd love to hear what the other option is. ;) For real though, please share.

    Flash gear I recommend in this video.
    PC Sync cable - amzn.to/3kHpxLK
    Yongnuo Flash (the better one) - amzn.to/2IY0KWo
    if you shoot digital make sure to get the flash for your system
    Shutter Release Cable - amzn.to/3kGMxuo
    Light stand 9foot - amzn.to/390S2lA
    Flash Mount bracket - amzn.to/3pEQvHH
    You can get this as a Flash mount or the below option. They both work, But I do like the below option better.
    The next few things I'll be using in future videos as I love these things. So if you want to get a jump on it, here they are.
    S type Bracket Holder - amzn.to/333pAvg
    Love this thing
    Light Stand with Bracket - amzn.to/3lRa3Gg
    The Amazon links are affiliate links so I do get a little something if you use them. It doesn't cost you any extra but it does help me out. Thanks.

    I bought a RB67 and a upgraded my Godox light just to shoot film with flash, because I think so few do it. Thanks for these videos! This was great.

    Great video Hayes. I shoot a lot of off camera flash in my digital work and was thinking of getting a Mamiya just for shooting flash photography. I just don't know how I feel about lugging that massive camera around. Not that the Pentax 67 is much smaller, but I find it's more easily manageable. Anyhow, I loved the video and once the flash started working the image were awesome! Keep up the good work.

      Thanks so much man! I’m hopeful the next video with radio triggers will work much better. The camera is a beast but the leaf shutter is awesome when the flash works. 😂 I know they make a leaf shutter lens for the Pentax. Would love to try it sometime

    Nice video but I missed part on how to calculate exposure and what to set on flash and camera. I am begginer.

      The video after this gives some more insight on that topic but I also have a study card I can send you if that would help. Hit me up on IG and I’ll send it your way.

    I'm having the same issue with the trigger skipping flashes! it's really annoying, I have a neweer generic speedlight and cheap ebay remote trigger, it never skips on digital, but it skips on all of my film cameras and only works less than half of the time. Do you think it's the sleeping" issues I didn't quite understand what you meant by the flash is sleeping. Thanks for the video btw!

    Oh thank you! I used a cable to sync my Mamiya RB67 Pro with the Godox MS300.

      Did it work? I'm excited to go to my wireless set up but it's good to know the PC sync cord is there and will work.

      @@HayesPeterson Yes, it works with at least one light source. I would be happy to learn about wireless setup. Especially with the Godox system.

      how did it work? i thought that flash only had a sync for shortest 1/2000

    • @oleksanosanenko9398
      @oleksanosanenko9398 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mac__Tonight The Mamiya RB67 Pro has a central shutter, so it syncs with the flash at any shutter speed.

    What shutter speed are you using it to sync it to the flash? Is it 1/125 just like digital cam? Nice video btw!

    • @HayesPeterson
      @HayesPeterson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Mamiya Has a Leaf Shutter so it allows you to sync a flash at any of its shutter speeds. I had the shutter speed set to the ambient setting here. Can't remember exactly what it was.

    Hi, I bought pc sync Male to 3.5 but male screw is bigger than Mamiya needs, is there any difference between sizes because I couldn’t find any information anywhere

    • @HayesPeterson
      @HayesPeterson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All male and female ends of a PC sync cable should be the same. Does the 3.5 mm end have a screw "cuff" that's too big?
