  • We drove up the Pacific Coast Highway along the California coast and stopped along the way at Henry Cowell Redwood State Park for a beautiful sunny walk amongst the giant trees before strolling along the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz for the evening.
Our journey then took us all the way up to Reno, Nevada via Lake Tahoe to view an RV and we made an offer! Let us take you on a tour of this cool 90's vintage motorhome.
We are Lance, Emily and Austin, a British/Australian couple living out our dream of travelling the USA in our own motorhome. Follow along as we search for, buy and travel in our new home. Our journey so far has taken us up and down California, into Nevada and down to Arizona. We hope to hit all 50 states over the course of the next few years, so join us as we explore this awesome country!

Hi from Sweden! Thank you for including the incredible Giant Redwood trees of northern California. Beautiful on film, but these incredible beings truly must be experienced and appreciated in person, right?! I hugged those trees and actually wept a bit, feeling like I was in the earth’s most amazing cathedral! I wish everyone could visit the Giant Redwoods. Thank goodness they are protected as State Parks.

Hi Ingrid! Great to see you here! Yes the redwoods are difficult to capture on video, we agree they really need to be seen in person. Quite magical. 😍

Beautiful scenery! Those trees were amazing. I’m so glad you went to Reno. You gave us a little preview of what we’ll be seeing on our wine country trip next year that ends in Reno! Can’t wait to see the rv you finally ended up with…

It really was incredible, we could have spent forever there! We enjoyed Reno, kind of like the experience you used to get in Vegas 15 years ago (or maybe 20-30 years ago 😂), free parking, coffee in the room, cheap dining in the casinos, and in general not being overcharged at every opportunity... Theres quite a bit we didn't get to see, but thats a great reason to go back!
Wine country trip sounds awesome (although I'm more off a wine drinker than a wine taster 😂)!
The RV is in next weeks vlog, folowing that we geet out on the road in it!
PS, glad Titus is making a recovery!

I like that Arcade at Circus with the Giant machines and games.

Yes it was good fun, but we didn't have much time to play the games. We also went to Circus Circus in Las Vegas where we did play some games, video will be up on @ShowUstheMoolah this Friday!

I just stumbled on you and I'm so enjoying your adventure. We are planning on buying a class A by December to head out. I'm 70 and my husband is 73. We did get to see a little bit of the US but covid stopped our travels. Then we got the surprise of our live with our daughter n law getting pregnant with our first and now only grandson and we just couldn't leave him. He'll be 3 in October and he'll be in daycare so he won't need grandpa and grammie all the time. So we'll be taking off after Christmas. We live in Maine and if you ever get to come to Maine, you need to chat with me. I can tell you about a lot of gems that not many people know about Maine. have fun and safe travels oh and welcome to America!!!

You made a good choice going to Henry Cowell redwoods. Big Basin is about another 20 miles up Hwy 9 and Hwy 136. But, the area at big Basin where the headquarters and big trees are at was badly burnt in a major fire a few years ago. I lived in the area most my life. You could probably buy a cabin in the redwoods along Hwy 9. There are a few towns - Felton, Ben Lomond, Brookdale, Boulder creek. They start at about a 1/2 million dollars.

Oh really, thats good to know glad we ended up at Henry Cowell in the end. Guess we'll have to start saving for the cabin!! 😂 Thanks for watching!

That laughing animatronic at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is absolutely horrifying! I took a video of it as well when I was there. Love the carousel!
The redwoods are beautiful. I really want to go back to California and see them. Lake Tahoe as well! I was supposed to go a couple years ago with some girlfriends but there was a bad fire fairly close by so we cancelled and spent our whole vacation in Vegas instead of the planned split trip. It's gorgeous! We really still want to try to get out there someday.
Can't wait to see what kind of RV you guys get, see you next week!

Yes, we are scarred for life 😂
The redwoods we're wonderful, tranquil. We'll be heading back to Lake Tahoe for sure, really enjoyed our short time there so hope you manage to make it there too!

Were the Reno slots loose? :) I used to live near Santa Cruz. Love that area. In SoCal now but taking a four-day coast roadtrip up to Monterrey, see the aquarium after 25 years and of course Santa Cruz. If you get back on the coast, you might enjoy Hearst Castle. But you've got lots of real castles in Europe ;) Super good video, Friends. Well done!

    • @friendventurers
      @friendventurers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi Monica 😊 Not particularly loose like we hoped they would be. Santa Cruz was stunning! We loved the architecture. We've been to Monterey a few times now, a great spot for a day out. Hope you enjoy your trip. Be aware the aquarium is about $60pp so not cheap, but I'm sure it's worth it.
Way back in 2018 Lance and I drove past Hearst Castle on our honeymoon road trip, we didn't end up stopping at the castle but we did visit the beach nearby. If we go back that way, which I'm sure we will, we'll check it out.
      Thanks for watching! ♥️

@@friendventurers It's nice that you like the U.S. Yes, the Monterrey Aquarium is pricey and now super hard to even get tickets! Fortunately, Hearst Castle is not expensive... actually surprisingly reasonable. They have several different tours and I've done most of them; especially liked the upstairs. Safe travels...............

I just subed, please do your research on the RV's ,there are RV parks that refuse entry to older RVs,also all brands are not created equal, some of the better brands are Pleasure Way, Coachman ,Gulf Coast,. If we bought it would be used too.If I can think of any more I will post in the comments. Welcome to America . Traveling Robert is an American RVer and should be a great resource for you.I am from NE Alabama watching.God Bless.

Hi Melody, thanks for the advice and the sub! I have been around RVs for 30 years or so, so I do have an idea of the difference between manufactures and what to look out for. Age shouldn't ba an issue for the type of camping we plan to do, but I have heard its can be an issue. We love Traveling Robert too! Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
