i liked how you terminate your stringers with the cold tweak at the ends.. never seen that before and it looked tidy. was also suprised at how you gatherd all that colour up to the marble form without marvering. i learnt alot... thanks 👍
To all that are whiners and complainers. If you seriously learnt nothing from this video then its your own damn fault. This video is filled with wealth's of information. If you're unable find it then you're here for the wrong reasons. Now go watch your cartoons and leave this to the adults.
I hate when they take 3 hours to make a piece and don't take 30 seconds to just show the final result, like, you can watch this movie, but I ain't showing you the ending.
My biggest complaint with lamp work videos is no final video of finished work. It's that way with nearly all the videos, show us the eye candy at the end :)
@tronclay It is a bluebird paragon XL You can pick up smaller kilns for less than $400.00 or even find a cheap used one on craigslist. Hope you invest in it and get started! The world could use more lampwork artists! Let me know if you have any questions about set up or what tools you need to get started. :)
I know he flashed his work in front of the camera for a few seconds, but it would be nice to have a more focused shot of it.... kind of the point. None the less, thanks for sharing ;-)
I am wondering If i could use a container full of buckwheat in place of a kiln. Buckwheat can be used to cool steel after welding it. It can tak up to 4 days for 1 weld beed to cool. Its pretty cool because the substance by its self makes the hot piece retain its heat. a crockpot would'nt be needed. Just a thought.
@MrGlassMaker13 Thanks dude we used to post a bunch-but they were kinda crappy. Wanted to get a better camera set up and a bit better at what we do. We will do a few a week. My wife wants to do some for her figurines and soft glass and I will definitely do some more pipe ones.
i would like to see some stuff that has cooled so i can see how you worked the color.I like your bubblers they are sick i want to see the wig wag and reversal please :)
for 500, you arent going to be able to get a setup that cheap unless you find a super rare sweet deal. you need an exhuast fan(at least 100$) regulators(50-400$), and torch. you gotta start small and ear the money for the big torch. i have a kobuki and a HA40 at this point. took a long time
You prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Conrad Johnathan Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Yeah - we had a complicated pregnancy so stopped making glass for a little while. We have been back for 3 years now and are putting up new videos! Thank you for trying back 7 years ago! :)
Search on criagslist and glass blowing forums. I just bought a nortel red max torch, a jen ken kiln, propane and oxygen tank, regulators, flash back arresters, various tools, box full of glass tubes, and a box full of random color rod for 1100. The kiln alone is worth that much. Keep searching Im sure youll find something
What torch is that? The Phantom? Where did you get the adjusting stand with brass knobs. That stand is super nice. A simple suggestion to make your vids far better, snap a solid picture of the finished product and place it at the beginning on the vid. When you show the work hot we can't really see much detail. So strike that bad boy in the kiln, snap a photo and it's win win for everyone. Thanks for the awesome tutorial, I just wish I could see what it looked like in the end.
what do you use for an exhaust fan? Ill be working in a basement and ill be infront of a small window. looking to get a small powerful fan for the window and some sort of vent inline with my torch exhaust. any suggestions for a good place to find a cheap fan unit?
@mcqtip6 I will keep that in mind the next video I do. It is tough to show the finished piece because it has to go into the kiln pretty quick-but I will try and show one before the video. Thanks for watching!
+TheNomadcraftsetc Thanks for posting the time. I was trying to figure out when the moment of truth was... Is it fair to say that the planetoid is created from the thin rod pooling/melting inside the hotter blob of glass, almost like you are injecting it, or is there another aspect I'm missing? This art is something that always fascinated me (been thinking about taking a class or finding a mentor or just jumping in solo for years), and I never could figure out how those tiny pearlescent planetoids were suspended just so, so perfectly inside of some amazingly beautiful marbles I've both seen and bought as gifts. Thank you for sharing the process!
There is no sense in showing us your process if you don't show us what your goal is. I can understand not explaining it in the beginning of the video (even though you should, but it's understandable) but what made you decide to not show the finished product at all? As far as we know you just made a ball, that's all we see.
@@LetsFishNewMexico This feels like a fever dream bc I have no recollection of ever watching this video, nevermind typing the comment lol. I guess my teenager self thought I was TH-cam's top critic.
@@TheOnlineScrub lol! I am going through our old videos and some of the comments are just awesome! I thought I would check in on you. Hope life is treating you well!
Wow! That finished product was fantastic!
Thanks! :)

Love responses like this! I know I am a little late to reply. Thank you for watching and learning!
Wow, you got great tools. They make my little hothead torch and stuff look so primitive.
We started on hotheads more then 10 years ago. Nothing wrong with them!

The finished marble is in the video. :) You have to watch the entire video to see it.
love the baby torch at the end, great finishing touch n.n

@nightflierlives I haven't ever done a live demo-it is a little nerve-racking. Glad you like our work! Stay tuned for more videos.

+Landon Samaniego I totally agree. Did I miss him putting the planet in the marble?
Pot365 you r right
It shows the finished product in the video. :) But 5 years later I am sure you dont need to know that. lol

10+ year old video - my camera sucked back then. But have a new one now. I think I might do an updated version of this technique.
its also possible to construct a very nice kiln from components (think building a computer) for much less than you would expect.
lol
love your vids man ive watched a few hours worth now i could stare at that flame all day now if i could just find an apprenticeship
good luck do it on your own
Nice job showing and explaining this vortex marble. Thanks for letting me know about it.
Thank you! (4 years later! lol) I love your work!
@@LetsFishNewMexico Thank you. Four years is better than never!

Dear, thank you for your demonstration. Incredible marble. Could you tell me what glass you use ro make the vortex ? Best regards, carol
All of the glass we use is COE 33 Borosilicate glass.

Honestly, the number of comments saying it isn't shown is frankly astounding.
Youre a dummy...
:) People Dont watch the entire video - why would they do that? lol Thank you for your comment!

im glad you saved me some time. whats the point without seeing what it was?
27:25 - Did you use your eyes to watch the video?
😁
foo fighters rope :D
ok
not much to see here. with all that money on equipment you would think you would have a filter so we can see
Yes! With all the money spent on equipment - it leaves you broke. lol
He took the time to edit the video he could’ve taken the time to show the finished product that means it was unsuccessful
if u want to see finished product go to @nomadglass77 on Instagram thanks
No finished product. Don't waste your time. 27 minutes of listening to rotten music and the torch.
