Thanks everyone for watching the video. Glad you enjoyed it. Two corrections on the video. The gate at Okaukuejo camp (which I passed through 3 times🤣) is the Anderson gate and not the Galton🫣 and of course the swimming pools at Okaukuejo are only for onvernight visitors and not day visitors...but dont worry all the animals are real. no mistakes there😊
Good to see you back and making vids Mr 5210. Last two times in Etosha I was suprised by how few animal sightings there were and even more the road conditions. Returned to my air bnb in Otjiwarango to find I had a slow puncture and also a cracked rim. Im currently in planning stages for a Namibia trip in late Jan but might just give Etosha a miss this time.
Thanks Issy. Unfortunately I will add some bad press in the next video. Did not stay inside , but the roads are really bad. At least the animals sightings are still amazing
Very nice video, thank you for sharing. Patience - that is the most important thing in Etosha, then you will often be rewarded. I have heard and seen in many documentaries how elephants mourn. I love these animals, they are so magnificent. Whenever they lose a member of their herd and would even offer condolences on the bones, it almost brings tears to my eyes, I am so moved. And YOU were allowed to be there when this elephant went to his dead companion at the Aus waterhole. What a privilege. I am happy for you that you were able to see something like that live. Best wishes from Germany, HenningVery nice video, thank you for sharing. Patience - that is the most important thing in Etosha, then you will often be rewarded. Thank you Hen. I mispoke in the video. I knew this is what they do, but Ive never been able to see it. In the video I showed a few minutes. In reality she took so long before and after drinking and chasing the lions around. It was a special moment which I think many people there overlooked. Like you said, made me really sad....
Great video! We visited Etosha in May 2023. The roads were horrific: not sinkplaat, but stones and rocks in the majority of the roads. Even 4x4 boffins complained. To my mind the management should ask the CHINESE to improve the situation...))))))
@@patrickisingizwe7595 .....Because the Chinese are already building quality roads in the rest of Africa (even in South Africa) and they are already in Namibia building roads and infrastructure... politics , my friend, politics...
That was very touching to me. It looks like such a harsh environment for even hardiest animals. I wonder what befell the Ellie & if the one who came to mourn was separated from it personally. Btw the music was lovely. I’ll be watching more from you.
Wonderful elephant photography nature at its truist and rawest. Are the government still going to cull elephant to provide food ? That's what I heard here in UK 😢
Yes, for very good reasons. With the current drought, many many animals will die. In some areas there is NO grazing left. Rather than starving to death, a selection of carefully identified animals will be culled and the meat shared among the communities that are also without food. Don't believe all the negative things you hear without finding out the truth. I was horrified at first but am grateful that sensible action has been taken.
The map is available in English Afrikaans and German. Might just have been out of stock. So very dry, was this 2024? Horrible drought throughout Namibia..
I agree. This point did not come out in the first video, but will in the next two. Ended up abandoning the 5th because the roads became too much for me.

Thanks for the video. Looking forward to seeing rest of your days in Etosha. We will be there in about 3 weeks . Can’t wait..
Great Video Nick, good to have an update especially now that the park is getting such bad press. Issy
Thanks Issy. Unfortunately I will add some bad press in the next video. Did not stay inside , but the roads are really bad. At least the animals sightings are still amazing
@@NickfrNamibia That's such a pity, Etosha is one of Namibia's jewels :(

Why ask Chinese????

glad you enjoyed it🙂 couldn't get any information on the elephant. Everyone had their own version.

In the video you can see the total lack of grazing. The only creatures doing well right now are the carnivores😢
Thanks Meryl

@@merrylbutcher4965 4 weeks ago and yes like you say very dry.
🎉
There is another restcamp to the west of Okondeka waterhole, but it is not shown on any of the maps??
Yes, you are talking about Olifantsrus. The camping only camp.
5 weeks later, no day 2 yet?
I dont know if I will carry on with thise series....
Road conditions have really deteriorated and seemingly no attention to improve services for visitors,
Unfortunately very true
The roads in Etosha are awful. Just returned from there…great animals, but the roads will prevent me visiting again.
