Erniang knew Shiyi's personality. She would not allow any of her siblings to be bullied if she could help it. Shiyi accepted Erniang with all of her idiosyncrasies and still loved her. When Shiyi was sentenced to die, Erniang came through by delivering the riddle of the lamp and the stone for their brother to solve. This allowed the Duke to help Lingyi escape from the Ou soldiers. Blood is always thicker than water.
I absolutely love this drama. Shiyi and her sister got along so well at the end. It’s only realistic bc they’re sisters afterall 💕 Finally something different in Chinese dramas besides Minglan
I love the way their relationship develops throughout the series to become positive sisterhood rather than a snake pit. Shiyi's genuine care won her sister over and I am so here for it!
Loved the way the two sister’s interacted with each other, so cute and funny.

Lol. I get ya. I have watched many films and dramas where the book was totally different. One film comes to mind, 'A walk to remember'. I happened to read the book before watching the movie. The book had more emotion and I couldn't get it out of my head as I watched the movie. Even though the movie was a tear jerker and really good I'm still wondering if there would be another film not just based on the book but go by the book. 🤔🙄

Not his choice. Men had one wife at a time which was usually the parents' choice. People could gift you concubines and you'd have to accept out of courtesy or to keep peace. If you rejected a gift from someone who is politically significant, you risk getting your family killed. Plus, with his status, there would have been a lot of gossip if he had just one woman in his life. People would have accused his wife of being a jealous b***h or think he's secretly impotent or into men.
