5500 hours here, with some breaks from the game. But maybe quarter of it is me sitting in my docked ship, drinking beer, smoking pot and watching something on my other monitor. 🙂
2200 hours here and not out of stuff to do. Barely even touched PvP, can't do AX better than a clops or two. I just spend my time tinkering with off-meta ship builds, lol. Lots more to learn.
I started playing the game in October 2023. So i'm a noob and only have 650+hrs in the game yet. Actually i enjoy exploring and exobiology in my Type6 very much. I'm actually looking for other ships and try them. I also do love my two Anacondas (One for grinding pirates and their materials & one is a explorer with actual 70+ly jumprange) But i always end up in my yellow flying brick.
lol. Well, personally I'd say up to like 500 hours it's still pretty much a early game/you will still be learning new stuff pretty often, probably slows down a bit around the 1K mark, but of course Elite is a sandbox so there's always gonna be stuff to do.
8921 at the moment here, my dad has been the biggest fan of the elite franchise since he was a kid, now I, his son continue the heritage of racking up billions for no particular reason and exploring random places of the galaxy :D
Most of the hours I have in the game are from just waiting for my friends to finally jump in the system we're supposed to meet in. You do like two things and suddenly BOOM, it's been 3 hours already. :)
I don't know I transfer from Xbox to PC so it memes I have to use the launcher to play the game, but I would say my hours in the game can be calculated by my fleet carrier 23 ships many of them fully or partly engineered for whatever I want, my various ranks and 26 billion credits.

ive around 4.5k. the fun fact about that was i reach over 3k in the first year after launch and only 1 \1.5k of it was maded in the time from 2016 to 2020 when i litteraly stop to play and start to just make a couple of hours time to time.
I don't really like multiplayer online games, nor games that don't have a main quest storyline with a clear ending, and are just endless sandboxes with no particular goal. I might play a game like Stardew Valley or Cities Skylines for, like, 10-20 hours and then get bored and move to something else. And as for "arena" style online multiplayer shooter games, they most definitely are not for me. A very, very long time ago I tried some for a few hours and got completely bored. Nowadays I get bored of them in 5 minutes (and I'm not even exaggerating one iota). I once tried and MMORPG for a little while, maybe an hour or two, before I got bored. About two years ago I tried Elite Dangerous just out of curiosity, expecting to get bored of it after maybe an hour or two as well. Yet, I'm still actively playing it to this day. I believe my total hours are now approaching 2000, which is like an order of magnitude more than the second-longest I have ever played a video game. I cannot really explain why, as I don't really understand it myself. They say that Elite is "as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle", and indeed, compared to all those "endless" games like Stardew Valley or the MMORPGs, it has quite a distinct lack of storyline content and elaborate quests. Yet, somehow, I stopped playing those after 10-20 hours, yet I'm still playing Elite actively to this day, after something like 2000 hours. I couldn't explain to you why. It just... somehow works.
lol, like 2/3 of it is just my autistic ass having the launcher... well, launched all the time. But I got almost 4K hours in game now as well, I guess it just comes together, I've been playing for like 4 years now as well and Elite's my most played game by far.
Well, it's been my main game pretty much the whole 4 years I've played lol, plus tbh the steam numbers are from like 2/3 just from keeping the launcher opened which I've done for a long time XD. In reality it's more around 3K which still kinda insane but not THAT much I guess lol
Idk, now I do lot of PVP, that's something you can do basically for as long as you want if it's fun for you. Otherwise I just keep building new ships, unlocking stuff, making events, going on Exploration trips... theres always sth to do.

I currently have 1,762 Hours logged in Elite Dangerous. I swear I'm not an addict I can stop any time I want too. I just don't want to.
You know you've spent a lot of time in a video game when you blow past the 10k milestone by a whole 800 hours before you even notice you did it.
I thought I was going to get to finally get out of early game at 35 hours in.
I now realise I will be here for the next 7 years.

Over 2k but I stopped playing after engineers came out since the game went from an open sandbox to a go fetch simulator
Pfft its really not that bad
once you unlock the engineers it stops being an issue
@@hurdurdur7rl696 just unlocked the colonia engineers. wasn't as frustrating as the human bubble engineers.

holy mother of jesus... you have one hell of an addiction...
6075 myself in largely desultory play over the past decade, I have no idea how you did close to twice that in just four years! o7
that's just a lil under how much I have in the game according to the codex.... lol

How many hours?
Not enough... only about 236 and counting...
Ive gone back and forth between steam for VR and the regular launcher the past few years and have no clue. Its got to be around 6k.
Really clever. Nice work.
Nice work, Commander:))
I got about 11,000 hours across 3 playthroughs. 4700 on my current.
4200 and counting.
Counted across platform and I'm at 3005. I thought that was a ton until now lol

thats impressive!. i stopped before odessey for two years at 2300, got back on in the last month for odessey and barely added 150 hours
I'm only at 5,588. But I didn't get the game until it was already out a couple years at least.
That's quite a lot! I started playing something like few months after carriers release/right before Horizons became free.
and I thought I had already had played too much with 2500 hours XD

You can AFK in most games. Elite is no different in that regard.
