Pinterest is filled with pretty organization pics but this is the best declutter idea I've heard, especially for my overstuffed kitchen. Thanks!

Obvious, simple tips that we easily overlook and don't do because we just never take a new look at where things end up. You are such a good motivator to help me take a new look at my house and at how I have things set up. I just love you, keep the great videos coming!

I never really thought of where the "best homes" for my stuff should be, I just put stuff away. Once I started rearranging based on where things get used the most often...it was like magic!

Did this and you are sooo right! I'm like- why was I making my life so difficult by keeping things in the weirdest places. This tip is a lifesaver :)

I tend to do this, but we are in the middle of a move and I have been putting the kitchen together literally the last two days, so this was a superb and timely reminder!

Great tips! Last night as I was putting leftovers in the fridge, I got the brightest idea... I was putting stuff over stuff cause it was so full so I was like, why not put the foods I don't use on a regular basis in the garage fridge, which had tons of space! I moved jelly, pickes and stuff like that and now I have plenty of space! Will slowly move stuff around to make my life more manageable! Thanks again!

I just happen to do this, organise by priority. I also do long term and short term storage. Fir instance, if it is used daily basis it goes in the kitchen, even out on the counter. Weekly, goes in a kitchen cabinet or drawer. Monthly, in pantry closet. Seasonal/occasional goes in garage/attic or other long term storage. I also store it where it is used. Great tips.

I started following her method in my closet last night and oh boy! I could not just bring aaaall of my clothes out, so I just took all the tops out that were hanging from my closet! Without taking any breaks, it took me four hours! Funny thing is, I separated all the stuff that can be folded from those than could be hung. I then realized I didn't empty my drawers so I had no place to store all the nicely folded clothes! lol They are now neatly piled on the floor! lol

A tip for your supplements--put them in a multi-divider formula container. You can fit at least 4 different supplements in one and they hold quite a few. I probably refill about once a month. Then you can put the original bottles in a linen closet and free up some more of the "valuable real estate".

TFS. It made me move some things around that I never thought about moving in all these years. The dishwasher is so much easier to unload when dishes are placed right above it. Duh.....

Storing my coffee and tea above my coffee maker, I never thought about this. Makes sense, so I won't be running in circles in the morning looking for; cups, saucer, spoons and creamers. Just never thought about this.

    • @Clutterbug
      @Clutterbug  8 ปีที่แล้ว

I never did this at first either! My entire house had no rhyme or reason, but when I started really moving stuff around based on where it made the most sense, my house started just staying pretty neat all the time!

Love your videos/systems!! I have a lot of meds, too. I don't have little, super curious kids, so it worked for ME, but I filled/labeled empty glass spice jars (from Goodwill) with all of my meds and labeled them before loading up my medicine cabinet. These are regularly used, so I don't have to keep track of any special instructions - Aleve, Tums, etc. Any extra that doesn't fit in the jar goes into my "Mom's Stuff" bin in my closet for later refills. Obviously, I would be a little more cautious if I NEEDED to keep the kid-safe, lidded containers they came in. But again, it worked for me (and as a bonus, got rid of all the awkward/multi-colored bottles they all came in, which my crazy, scatter brain can't handle, either.) Keep up the great work - I'm seriously LOVING your ideas!

I love your makeup in this video. Do u know what blush u used?
U can also store vitamins in deep tackle boxes. Just label. Keep it under the sink. And it's easy to pull out.
Or u can get like 4 of those weekly pill organizers from the Dollar Store and fill them up. My step mom used to keep a months supply at easy access like that. And stored the rest in her Linen Closet til refill time. That way all her meds n vitamins took up less cabinet space.

If you shower in the bathroom it may not be the best place for vitamins/ medicine because of moisture. ( that's what I hear do whatever works for you obviously!) Loved the video.... I have embraced having things in obvious places... but not all the way. Simple yet genius! 😃😃

They draw moisture and break down faster. It's the same anywhere a lot of moisture exists. I go with a basket on top of my refrigerator so it isn't around moisture and out of reach of little ones and any pets.

Do you have any advice for dealing with "in transit" clutter, i.e. items that need to be returned to the store, library books, mail to be taken to the post office, Tupperware to give back to the neighbors, etc. This stuff always ends up on my kitchen counter because I'm afraid if I put it out of sight I will forget about it, but I just hate looking at it all day! Couple of things. They have vitamin organizers at dollar store to place daily ones in. With that said, do you have any recommendations of vitamins? Didn't know if you have an article, Doctor recommendation, referrals of what to take? With thyroid you get desperate to try things to make it works. Vitamins being the easiest. Lol I am eating sea weed sheets twice a week now.
