I love this side of TH-cam that has quality information and instruction with that DIY feel. I'm having this issue on a '98 Civic CX I purchased last week and will be trying to correct it soon. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Yes sir 👊🏾 Got to know your ohm laws I remember when we was kids (plug in n play)not knowing we'd have our amps at a ½ ohm. Wondering why its cut'n out. So we bought lighter socket fan at a yard sale thinking that would help and the whole time we was out working and whipping our amp to death 🤦🏾♂️
Thanks for the valuable info. My rear speaker got blown out about a year ago then started working again while making noise, then suddenly cuts off and works at low volume then all audio cuts off for a second or two when volume is at max.. driving me nuts!
Hello everyone. Shout out to you Curt. All who shared their experiences with their speakers working intermittently, or with an increase in volume, etc, PLEASE comment on how you solved your problem. Hopefully everyone rectified their issues and are rockn' out.
I think that is the same issue I’m having with my home receiver. I think the speaker connectors I put on the wires were making a flakey connection and when I turn the volume up the sound cuts out like it’s chopping. Thanks!!
If the amp is a 2chnnel you should be able to run single 4ohm speakers 2 speakers per channel but has to be the same speaker not mix n match .the best thing to do is to get a 4 channel amp run at 4ohm its more safe.if they 2ohm they seem to have more clipping problems.plus very important check and clean your grounds
Don't do that... just run them in series to get your load right so you can still run all 4 off the amo still and not the shady deck power that will clip shit to death... Also check with your amp to see what the ohm cloud of each individual channel as well as bridged. Typically you get a lower impedance with four channels versus bridge. This is typically the case with high amps when Bridged where with the class D amp for the subs is normally the other way around. Check these things out as it may just simplify things for you this time or the next time around.

I have 6 alpine speakers on a 4 channel head unit.. All speakers are coaxial... Which means I have 6 built in tweeters.. Should I remove 2 of them? Or just use bass blockers on my 3.5s?

, man it's so crazy you reply with this. Just today I installed new ground straps to my truck because I realized I've been having a grounding issue. I was only grounded to the frame with a unsuitable cable and of course you know the engine has motor mounts and the radiator support has bushings as well as the cab which would all impede good grounding. I also realize that I only have that popping of the speaker issue when my battery is not fully charged. Most days I put my truck on a slow charge and when I first get in I could crank it with no problems but a couple days later I start having that issue. I also would notice I would get a slow crank after a couple of revolutions also indicating poor current flow. Going to upload a video on it in the next couple days. First off you probably have a factory alternator that is not producing enough power and I'm guessing you only have one battery. Upgrade your alternator to atleast a 180 amp, preferably a 200. That usually solves power issues. Or you can add a 2nd battery, and if you do that you won't have to worry about upgrading the alternator. Or you could do a big 3 upgrade and add a capacitor, which would be the cheapest route. If you don't have enough power to your amp you are probably only getting half of what the RMS power states. If you have a 1000 watt amp you are probably getting 600 watts at best. And use zero ga wire if you can, it makes a difference
